This bag appears to be perfect in every way! I carry a Rebecca Minkoff Julian as my everyday purse. But I wanted something a little more rugged with greater capacity for out of town sight seeing. But it had to be cute. And I didn’t want to look like I was hiking the AT. I REALLY wanted a Tumi, but I could not justify the price if I wasn’t going to use it daily. I also wanted something with a water bottle pocket on the outside so that my kids could grab it without opening the whole pack.
This bag fits the bill. It is small enough to not be overwhelming. The material has enough sheen to be stylish, the hardware is black and understated. The security features are not inconvenient (unlike my Travelon backpack). The inside is a nice peach color which will allow me to see everything. There are multiple pockets for phones, key/metro cards, and chargers. The straps will adjust to fit my 5’3” self. I haven’t tested the water bottle pockets, but I feel like I could fit a slim aluminum water bottle and a small umbrella in each. I plan on taking this bag to Savannah next week, and I will update my review if it does not meet expectations. Overall, I recommend this bag for day trips and such. I think it would be too small for a business commuter who needs to haul a laptop, gym clothes, etc.

I am 5'2" and this backpack was the perfect size and lightweight. Loved the water pouches on either side and security features. the color was nice too. Went to Europe with this and it performed wonderfully.

Perfect pack for a trip to the city - comfortable and great sizing. Belongings secured but access not frustrating. More colors please!

Took this on a three week trip to Europe. Absolutely perfect. Safe, cute, and just big enough without being overwhelming. Adorable.

This was to be my 2nd anti-theft bag purchase. I immediately returned this backpack.
BACKGROUND: In 2009 I bought a previous version of the PacSafe CitySafe 100 crossbody for a trip to Europe. I was a huge fan based on the security features, bright colored lining, water-resistant fabric, and organizational pockets, etc. It was an obvious choice to take it again to Europe in 2011. Due to the bag's small nature, it had only one, easy to use, zipper latch connected to the strap with a "snap hook" (basically a D-clip with a tiny lever).
NOW: Heading back to Europe in 2017 I wanted to change to a small backpack option and immediately went shopping on PacSafe, but ended up comparing 5 different backpacks between PacSafe & Travelon. FYI I ended up choosing the #42310 Classic Backpack from Travelon in Lush Blue.
BAG PROS:
- Small size
- Water-resistant fabric
- Bright colored lining
- 2 open side pockets
- Organizational pockets in front area
- Locking strap latch
BAG CONS:
- "Mustard" lining color (on dark green bag)
- RFID pocket in large section (instead of front)
- No card slots (for easy purchases & metro/Underground cards)
- Slightly heavier than other bags
- Security latches: The change from my previous version seems inexplicable. Why are the pulls not D-clips that can be clipped to each other in any location? Instead both large section pulls must be on the left to attach to the single latch that is half hidden down in a small area with elastic. This setup makes attaching both pulls to the latch too crowded, and the "buried" latch makes attachment a struggle. (I get "security", but this was beyond.)
- Access to top zipper requires flipping up a fabric overhang, which is just another bothersome step, even if it makes for additional security.
- The single front area zipper pull is "secured" by sliding it through a fabric loop, which is a hassle in both securing and gaining access. Why not a simple D-clip to attach to another pull or standard latch?!
All of these changes to the pulls and latches on PacSafe were more than disappointing.
I'd also recommend:

I use this bag as my every day purse. It holds everything I need and more, but it's not an overwhelming size. One thing I love about this bag is that it offers great organizational pockets, including an RFID protected pocket for my wallet. The interior (at least of the black backpack) is a bright peachy-pink color, which makes it easy to find what I'm looking for. It's lightweight, and sits comfortably on my back when I'm out and about. It feels sturdy, and comes clean easily with a wet wipe. I've received many compliments on my backpack. I would definitely recommend this bag.

I really wanted to like this bag because it was compact and I love the side zipper in the back so that I can easily access my phone. I was primarily going to wear it as a backpack, but it was uncomfortable and my shoulder was starting to get sore/tired after wearing it for an hour. This could be because the straps start from the center since it is a convertible bag. Because of this reason I had to return it.
