Great hiking boots. I wore them for the first time on a 4-hour hike and I had no discomfort at all. No blisters. Very good arch support, good width for my feet with bunions. Highly recommended. Also ordered Salida Mid Waterproof boots to compare, but these (Moab FST Mid Waterproof) were definitely more comfortable.

Sadly (for me) I loved the graphite color. It was 1/2 size too small & boulder was the only other color in my size. I think it's a really nice shoe but I hate brown so they're going back. Fortunately Merrill just came out with a similar shoe with more black so that's the one I'm keeping. I have to say, looking for a mid-high shoe (sprained an ankle & I feel better about a higher shoe) has taken many hundreds of dollars & Zappos has been very patient about it.......8 pairs & a month later, I have my black mid-high Merrills!

These began as nice boots. They feel like typical hiking boots...a bit stiff...but are pretty comfortable. They're great on rough terrain, and started out nicely waterproof. However, after about a year, the upper began to separate from the sole on both boots. Needless to say, this meant I had very wet feet! Because of this, I can't recommend these boots. To their credit, Merrell replaced the boots, but only after I sent them the boots to inspect. I guess they thought I altered the pictures I sent. I'm not that talented.

Very comfortable even with thick socks.

Nice Boot, a little narrow

This boot is comfortable from day one. I have been on two 5 mile hikes up and down hills, over scrabble and hard pack and rocks, and my feet feel great. I like the heel base since I was looking for more stability than my other hiking boots provided me. The toe box is great! My demanding feet are happy feet in these boots.

I ordered a half size up, based on reviewed of the Moab mid waterproof. But I like these so much better. So much nicer looking, better support, nicer boot all around. First 3-hour hike was perfect. Lightweight, supportive, great shoe.

I liked how these looked out of the box but for some reason the back of the boot hit me in a weird area. Almost pressing into my leg. My daughter ordered a pair of Adidas Terix(?) at the same time and it was apparent that her boots were much lighter/the Merrills much heavier. My previous Merrills fit me so well but they are at least 5 years old--the style on this was different and so, these are going back.

More like a shoe, not a boot. Not high enough. Last strap loop as low as a sneaker, so not much upper support.

I should have bought the WOMEN'S MOAB FST ICE+ THERMO, so my ratings aren't entirely fair. They reflect my disappointment in purchasing an item that doesn't meet my need. Substantial socks are necessary for this shoe in cool weather (60* and below) - and medium cushion smart wool were not enough for me. That said, they were comfortable right out of the box, but after a couple of hours my feet needed a break - probably new shoe syndrome. I won't wear these shoes again until late Spring / Summer / Fall. They're definitely a warm weather shoe. My fault.

I have high arches and felt like this had way too much arch support. It felt like there were giant, hard lumps in the shoe under my arches; very uncomfortable. Otherwise the fit was good as far as width and length.
