This is a great coat, but I really need a medium tall, rather than a large. I am 5'10" and the sleeves and shoulders just fit in a large, but I was swimming in the waist. This coat seems VERY warm, while being sleek and thin. Too bad it won't work for me.

Pretty warm jacket. I've had a Stollbridge and a Varma, and it's a bit warmer than them. It's heavier than the other two, and a bit less stretchy material wise. It's slightly tight in the chest and neck area, especially when wearing a scarf. It's longer than the other ones I've tried, but it didn't affect movement.

This is a great coat. I read the reviews carefully before buying, and decided to take a risk during a sale. It does attract lint, but not in a way that's a deal breaker. The zipper is a bit tricky but no worse than any other two-way zipper I've encountered. It is heavy, long, thick, and WARM. That's what I needed, and I'm delighted by this warmth and coziness of this coat. It does run small; I wear a size 2 in most clothes and a medium fits well for this coat, especially around the shoulders. Definitely size up if you might want to layer. I bought this as a replacement for an 8-year-old Chelsea coat. The Clarehall is longer, warmer, and more feminine, in my opinion. I found the Chelsea coat TTS, btw; I am replacing a small in the Chelsea with a medium in this.

Happy with the warmth level! Don't have to layer up too much with this jacket :)

I ordered several coats (Chelsea, long Avant and Clarehall) and kept this coat. It keeps me warm in 10 degrees F and has a somewhat flattering cut (given it's a winter coat). Giving 4 instead of 5 stars as I wish that it was a little bit lighter, but overall I'm very happy with this purchase.

Fit is a little snug and while jacket is incredibly warm, it is also incredibly bulky.

After owning the coat for several weeks, I have to say I'm pleased with the warmth it provides in NoMi winter. Major pro. I love the big/soft pockets. Zipper works fine. Cons include: the shell material grabs all sorts of hair, lint etc. It's fairly bulky for every day wear. Runs a little snug? I'm 5'2" and 130 lbs- I ordered a S first, but it was uncomfortable in the chest/arms. Medium suits better, falls at the knees. But, again bottom line is how it stands up to wind and cold for me.

Warm coat and good features (2-way zipper, removable hood, inside rubbed cuffs). Fit is snugger than I wanted. I submitted my measurements to the size calculator and specified I wanted a roomy fit (to wear sweaters underneath) and it suggested a medium. Sounded right-I'm 5'2" and a size 8-10. It's SNUG. And somewhat FITTED. Armholes and upper sleeves (muscle) is right. Looks fine but feels a bit tight with warm clothes on underneath. Well made.

This coat was so tight and the zipper was hard to zip.

This is a nice jacket and fit well - I'm 5'6" and weigh 128. It worked well over a light sweater but might be snug with a heavy sweater. However, I didn't read the full description and did not realize that the hood is not removable so I'm returning it.

NIce looking coat but the texture wasn't smooth. It was something I wanted so this coat didn't work with me but the design is nice, great warmth.

Bought this Medium Marmot coat in Navy, good quality, good looking but Runs small, very heavy and material picks up lint Have not decided to keep yet.

The jacket is warm and a great length (I'm 5'3 and it hits around the knee). The fit is tighter in the chest and waist than I'd like and there is no stretch to accommodate thicker shirts. The frustrating part is the fabric on the outside of the coat. It attracts every piece of lint, dust or fur and always looks ratty. It's hard to remove the lint too. I want to return for this reason.

Jacket overall great quality. Double zipper no problem and is great function onve you get used to it. I'm 5'8 with an athletic frame (clothes size L) and was bummed the coat was tight across the chest. Would def be too tight with anything other than a thin layer. Had to return and think the XL would be too big and frumpy. Bummed bc it's a great coat.

The jacket is very warm and the fit was good but I didn't end up keeping it.. I am 5'8" and 125lbs and normally wear a small in jackets. This coat fit well with a thin layer underneath, but would not be comfortable to drive in due to how tight it was on the arms. DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE PETS. I had the jacket hanging in my house while I was trying to decide to keep it or not and cat hair clung to it like no other.

I was excited to get this jacket at a great price, but I just got it in the mail and it appears to be very small, particularly for a jacket that you would want to wear over a thick sweater. I'm going to return it.

This is a very stylish coat and it looked great. However, for the price, I wanted this coat to be perfect, and it wasn't quite there. As stated in another review, the fabric was noisy and attracted (and held onto) lint like crazy. Also, the zipper was difficult. I wear an XS in Land's End coats very comfortably, and I bought this coat in a size S. It fit well at the waist and hips, but pulled a bit under the arms. I bought it in black and also the dark spruce. The spruce color was very dark, darker than appeared in the photo. I was still thinking of keeping the black one, but I realized that I just wasn't excited about it. I sent them both back.

It seems way too tight for a medium especially around the chest area.

Pros: nice constructions, seemed very warm when trying it on Con: when I hung it up in my closet prior to sending it back, it started attracting all sorts of lint. this was made worse when i tried it on with my winter scarf to test out the warmth. Con #2: defective zipper. was challenging to unzip from the bottom and to zip all the way up without it catching. would be quite a nice coat if not for these 2 features. I have sent back the coat and am now awaiting a refund - hopefully CS reaches out soon.

Fits smaller and shaped more like a bell than my previous ones. Fabric horrible, scratchy catches every single piece of lint.

Beautiful color, warm jacket but I have to return it. Way too tight in the sleeves. I'm 5'8" weight is 160 but there is no way I can wear this coat. I'm really sad about returning it. It is exactly what I was looking for but pay attention to the reviews about the tight fit in the arms.

I really wanted to like this coat, but as other reviews have mentioned, the shoulders are cut extremely narrow and I couldn't move my arms. I ordered a small, which fit in the body, so I figure a medium would be too large. Also, I'm not confident that even a medium would have resolved the shoulder issue. I'm 5' 4", 120 lbs and usually wear either a size 2 or 4. It's very disappointing, because the jacket seemed very warm and was otherwise just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it has to go back. Luckily, Zappos is great with returns.
