Had 5 pairs of these now and have worked up to a size and a half above normal shoe size. Brilliant underfoot. Have caused blisters and sole is split in two which can create friction. Fantastic for running in the wet. I do have sense that am missing out on inov8's but am comfortable with these

?tanch?it? approuv?e.
Elles ont une accroche formidable par tous les temps.
Seul petit b?mol, elles sont un peu raides sur les premi?res sorties, mais une fois faite ? son pied, c'est un grand confort.

Great for those muddy tracks, a little hard on the feet for any sustained hard surface

I have run with the speedcross family for years building up to ultra trail distance and this shoe knows no competition. Stable, comfortable, great grip and surprisingly resistant to penetration from the environment. Only downside is durability. Seem to wear through the heel cushioning very rapidly which ruins the comfort factor. Have you changed manufacturing site recently? I think the build quality has lapsed slightly.

I have the regular SPEEDCROSS 4 and wanted the GTX version for those wet days and wet trails. I found that the GTX version was a different fit with the added GTX layer. This caused the lacing to loosen more often and overall I would have rather had wet feet.

Scarpe che uso da pi anni con soddisfazione. I miglioramenti, sempre azzeccati, introdotti via via nel tempo si possono apprezzare gi dalle prime uscite.

The heel drop is half of the Speedcross 3. if you want a shoe that slides off your foot with every step this is the shoe for you. I will be finding a pair of older Speedcross 3's that I know fit.

Toe Box is too narrow, tried 9.5 and 10, 10.5 is too wide in ankle.
Not the shoe for my feet.

Sole has wore flat on me in 6 months on two different pair now. I'm 6'4 and 275 but I wear them daily at an avg of 2-4 miles of running, walking, and working. The rest of the shoe show very little signs of my abuse. Waterproofing still works as good as the day I bought them. Other than wearing out the sole faster than I'd like these are some of my favorite shoes I have bought. I have switched to the same shoe but different sole hoping for longer life.

I am on my third pair of Speedcross 3s; they are great shoes. I've also had 2-3 pair of XA Pro 3D GTX. (Salomon just fit my feet well; the only choice for me now when I need shoes is what color Salomon to buy. Gotta get the new Speedcross 4 in blue/yellow- Go Blue!) The GTX Speedcross is a bit heavier than the CS, but the GTX is definitely much more waterproof. The tread on the Speedcross is way more aggressive than the XA Pro 3D, and I'd rather trail run in the Speedcross vs. XA Pro 3D, but you'll get more life out of the the XA Pro 3D tread. Once the lugs wear down on the Speedcross, you'll be unsteady if you have to walk on wet tile, etc.- you've just got a smooth, slick surface underneath you then. The lace string is way too long for my taste. If you tuck it back under the laces near the toe, it just gets caught on things, and once it comes loose, it's long enough that you step on it. But it does stay tucked in the pouch at the top of the tongue nicely if you do it that way. (If Salomon wants 5 stars from me for overall, they can shorten the lace a bit.) The lacing system on the Speedcross is better than that of the XA Pro 3D, as the latter has it's lace attached to the side of the shoe near the toe, and the little plastic coupler there rubs a hole in the outer shell of the shoe, and you will get water in there if you're in a wet environment. I have not tried them, but if you'll be running on snow/ice, there is a "Spikecross" version with metal studs in the tread. I wear these shoes 95% of the time, indoor, outdoor, in the operating room. At about 10,000 strides/day, these last me about a year. I wear an 11.5 in Salomon, but an 11 in nearly all other shoes. I will continue to buy these until they don't make them.

I love these shoes this is my 3rd pair and wear them for walking the dog across the heath and Gentle running however the soles last around 3 months and are flat to the shoe, these would be a 6 out of 5 if the soles lasted at least 12 months

I'm getting into hiking and a buddy swears by Salomon Speedcross. He told me go with the 5's, but Zappos had a great deal on the 4's GTX. Wanted the upgrade to goretex so put the order in. I wear 10.5 or 11 in most shoes. Ordered these in 11 - were very tight. The same buddy that suggested them bought them off me so didn't send them back. Ordered the 5s in 12 (never been in a 12) and I'll review those after some wear and hiking.
