I have wore Speedcross for 4 years now and have loved every pair.

I have long wanted a trail running show from Salomon. The sole, lacing system, and performance are highly rated. Having a fat foot made that impossible. Cue the speedcross 4. It has been a dream summer and fall on the trail. I could not ask for more in a shoe!

this shoe provides great traction on turf and dirt infields. i highly recommend it

usa le scarpe salomon in ogni occasione , sul lavoro ( caterinng eventi ) dove sto parecchie ore in piedi , le uso nell' ambito sportivo , camminate in montagna , camminate nei boschi in pianura , le uso con la mtb , per finire anche nel tempo libero , sono ottime, comode , confortevoli e facili d lavare . devo dire che ora mai da sei anni che sono passato a salomon e non ho piu comprato altre marche , ne posseggo ben cinque paia in modo che le faccio ruotare . unico difetto la suola in gomma che si consuma un po troppo in fretta . le ho consigliate a parecchi amici ,ancora oggi mi ringraziano !!!!!! sar dipendente da salomon speedcross hi hi hi non capisco perche non mi fa caricare le foto

Had a couple of pairs of these. Love the to pieces but really wish they made a wider version. Find this the same with much of the Salomon range. Saying that love the style and functionality. Also blue and orange colour scheme is ace! Hard to find shoe with this amount of style for men. As for the trail running side they have great grip, perfect for British terrain and wetness. Please make wider version!

I run a fair bit (~100km / month) and the shoe is great (as in this is my 7th or so purchase of the brand) but they wear out fast - specifically the sole. Also they used to have a wide fit but no longer do. This is a great shame and has taken me away from Salomon shoes generally.

Great Shoes! I've never had better traction in so many conditions. I used these shoes a lot in the Rockies climbing mountains. They're soles are good but with a trade off. Great traction due to the soft rubber, but get eaten up by the shale and rock climbing that makes the soft rubber great. After one summer (about 15-20 intermediate mountains) the shoes are all but destroyed. The heel degraded first causing me to have to tape the shoe. Then the sole finally gave way. The only flaw with the design is they have very thin laces that bite into the top of your foot especially going down hill. Easy fix with some traditional laces. Great Job Salomon! I hope you find a way to make the shoe last a bit longer but until then I'm keeping a pair of these ready to go.

I bought the speedcross 4, nine months ago (my first Salomon trail runners). From day one they felt comfortable, great fit and second to none grip. Especially in muddy and wet conditions, the grip and protection they provide is outstanding. Only negative point, the laces, which are not everyone's cup of tea. Mine they were getting looser while I was running and had to stop and adjust them constantly. Replaced them after a few weeks with standard laces and never looked back.

My trail running is split between running in the "woods" in North Carolina and running in the "high dessert" North of San Diego. The SpeedCross 4 gives me absolutely great traction on every surface I've encountered and is especially good on wet surfaces -- e.g creek crossings. The outsole is "robust" enough to offer a degree of protection from sharp rocks and other object that tend to beat up your feet. My only regret is that I didn't wait til SpeedCross 5 wherein I could get a "wide width". I have already recommended this product to friends.

They run a little narrow compared to other Salomon's I have had in the past, but other than that they seem to do well.

Received the shoes few days ago and frankly thought they were too big upon first try. I'm a size 9.5uk in nike etc but got the 11uk in the speedcross 4 shoes. However i found out you are meant to have about a thumbs width from the end of your toe to the end of the shoe toebox... i took them straight out for a 3 mile run in the mud and they were brilliant. Incredibly grippy, not one single slip despite the conditions and a nice snug fit/no slipping from my feet inside the shoe. I'd recommend but watch out for getting the right size :)

I love the shoe however the treads seem to wear down a little quicker than the average shoe.
