I bought this jacket in 2011 and it has lasted me 4 years throughout my college career and still going strong! The zipper is getting a little loose but not enough to send it to the warranty factory. I have it in the brown/moonlight ivory and it is a nice and flattering color. This is the coldest winter Michigan has seen in years and even in the negative temperatures here, I was still nice and toasty! Keeps me from freezing when I walk around campus to my classes. My normal North Face size is a small but I did buy this in a medium as I knew I would be layering and it fits great! It is a little noisy when I move but that's okay. I love the fleece insert inside and have gotten many compliments when I wear just the fleece. The outer waterproof rain shell is also great as well! Overall, I would highly recommend this as a winter jacket.

My wife likes the jacket. It is nice for multiple climate areas such as Ohio. Seals the body from cold and wind. On a windy day wear the outer, cool spring day wear the fleece, harsh winter day both keeps you warm and dry.

Jacket was as pretty in person as on line. A little pricey but I do believe North Face is a great product. I did however encounter a problem with the bungee tie for the hood. When I pulled lightly to tighten the hood the tie snapped. My husband said he would just make a knot but for $260 I wanted a new one. This particular one was out of stock so the customer service lady suggested I send it in to the warranty store to be fixed once winter is over. I plan to do so once winter is over. I was also give 20% off so I was very satisfied with the customer service end of this transaction as well. I would recommend to anyone. Also, the white and pink lined fleece under jacket is BEAUTIFUL to wear all on its own!

Good fit, warm, and great quality. The Velcro to close jacket is not pink as pictured, it's black but still love and is a pictured otherwise!

Going out with the outer coat alone is not enough. With the fleece on, things change a lot and you can start to feel the warmth in it.

I used the size adviser, which suggested I get a size medium although my measurements fit with a size small. I ordered online and received the coat yesterday. The materials are thinner than the picture suggests. Also, the coat is very large. I will be exchanging it for a size small after all.

I found that the North Face Jackets that I know and love have an issue with my waredrobe that I normally wear in the wintertime. There is no problem with jacket's function, but I found that the two North Face coats I've owned, while keeping me very warm in the winter, they were losing their cleanliness look while pulling the fabric slowly and methodically from the sweaters that I wear. The jacket often would get stuck on me, which I disliked the feel of that as well. I love my coats functioning besides this. I believe the velcro's purpose is to save time and be helpful-- It loses sales now in my eyes, as I avoid it at all costs.

I really wanted to like this jacket, but it looked terrible on me. It's not fitted at all, so made me look about 30 lbs heavier. Perhaps this would look better on a different body type. It's very cozy though and I'm sure very warm.

Fit and Size were fine. Very flattering and fit true. I didn't like the way the furry lining shed on my clothing and knew I wouldn't be able to live with that so returned it.

The fit was off in the arms, and it think it was due to the lining. Additionally, the hood didn't fully cover my head. Because of this I'm returning the item. I just tried on the new version of this jacket, as this was the old version, and it's a much better fit.

I got this coat as a gift for Christmas. Buyer beware it shreds like crazy. The fleece sheds in big chunks that are hard to remove from clothing. It's a nice warm coat, but I'm really disappointed in it, especially with how expensive it is.

I was looking for a warm jacket for winter. This is not it. I was fooled because the jacket gets a "warmest" rating. It is perfect for 50 degree F weather and warmer. The separate pieces are good for south Florida rain and Florida winter. it is pretty lightweight. This is not a winter jacket and should be not rated as such. I am freezing here in Michigan.

Runs a little smaller. I usually get mediums for outerwear and naturally bought a medium, but the sleeves were a little too tight - will not be able to wear anything knitted under this as even a simple long sleeve shirt makes it a tight fit for my arms already. It's hard to zip it up all the way to my chin also. There's a lot of things happening near the neck area so that part of the jacket is thick and slightly bulky. This jacket is also not too warm for Chicago weather (which is why I tried to wear thicker clothes underneath but couldn't). This jacket is very stylish though and would have loved it if it weren't too tight and was warmer.

Probably wouldn't invest in another north face. Disappointed in the material for the money.

My husband and I love to go hiking and camping, we travel a lot, and we use north face a lot, but this was not my better experience

It doesn't feel as warm as I expected it to be, but I mostly got this for the fuzzy jacket on the inside. Not great for extreme cold or strong winds, but it does okay for everyday winter wear.

Would be a great jacket but the fit is strange. Body fit and length is fine, 1 size larger than normal. But sleeves even then were very tight at the top, and 6" too long! And if I zipped it all the way up the front was over my mouth and very uncomfortable. I think this is only good if you're tall and have skinny arms. I also don't like velcro at the front, if can catch on your sweaters inside! Seems very warm at least.
I'd also recommend:

This coat is beautiful, stylish and attractive. The size is perfect and it fits like a glove. The inner fleece DOES indeed shed but I think it would be 100x worse if I took it out of the shell. Personally, the biggest complaint I have is that this coat does NOT keep me warm in the dead of winter. This coat would be perfect for early fall and early December temperatures. I live in Pennsylvania and lately the winters haven't been too bad but it does get cold. Sometimes below zero. Wearing this in any temperature below 30-20 degrees I think you'd freeze your butt off, but that's just my opinion. I go to work in this and I'm mostly outside on my breaks. I wear 4 shirts and a hoodie plus the coat and I'm still cold. If you're looking for something that's going to keep you super toasty, I would go with a feather down puffer coat or any down insulated coat for that matter. But this coat just isn't cutting it when it comes to keeping me warm. I wish I would have done a little more research on this coat before spending so much on it. Maybe I can save someone from making the same mistake it did. Hope this helps :)

If you are slim in the waist, it will not be a snug to your figure. It is very tight in the shoulders and you can barely hug yourself. Other than that it is a great jacket.

It kept me warm enough on the mountain at 3 degrees... I was not thrilled that it collected every piece of dog hair, human hair, fuzz from the liner & dust in the house I was staying at. Not thrilled with this purchase... Same problem with the sea foam matching pants. :-(

Nice jacket but a bit bulky looking. The xl seemed too big but the large seemed snug with anything but a tshirt underneath.

I would love to be able to give this a great rating but unfortunately it ran tight in both the chest and waist/hip area (I ordered a large) and I had to return it. They were out of the color in the next size up so I couldn't exchange it. I'm a tough fit as I'm short but busty. The worst part is I tried the exact style jacket on in a store for size prior to ordering and it fit. They didn't have the color I wanted though. I was so looking forward to my North Face jacket for a trip out west after Christmas. My daughter swears by her North Face that she's had for at least 5 years.
