I had foot surgery 2 years ago and the only shoe that fit accommodated my orthotic insert and provided the support I needed was the Dyad 8, and I tried everything. I've been happily buying this shoe 4-5 times a year and when the current shoe was too dirty to continue use ( I wear them everywhere including the barns ), I was sad to learn the 8 was discontinued, so I bought the 9s. WHAT a DISAPPOINTMENT! They are nowhere close to the shoe bed of the 8. As soon as I put them on there was immediate pressure along the inside of the foot and tremendous pressure on the great toes. I doubled checked to make sure I had received the extra wide and the shipment was correct. I do not understand why companies have to change a product that works. This is the second time Brooks has done this to me. Obviously I can't depend on them for staying power and will shop with some other brand. Sad

So narrow through the midfoot that orthoticis don't sit flat. Terrible shoe , no longer suits the purpose Brooks claims they make it for, orthotics wearers

The redesign of the Brooks Dyad has made it a stiff, hot, and uncomfortable shoe all around. Even the plush insert has changed and is not nearly as cushy as it used to be. I wear orthotics that require me to size up one size. I take an 11B across the board in Brooks. I find these fit, but they hurt my little toes. I think the upper is almost too narrow and the midsole is slightly posted causing my foot to supinate even more. This puts pressure on the small toes. Shoes are extremely stiff. For kicks I tried on a new pair of Dyad 7 from my stockpile and no comparison. The old style Dyad is way more cushioned and flexible yet protects the balls of my feet. I wish Brooks would go back to the way they used to make shoes and start using the BioMogo gel again. If you don't use orthotics and do not need a more cushioned shoe this might work for you, but it does not work for me.

I should start this review by stating that I am not a runner. I am a RN who works 12.5 hour shifts and walks to and from work (2.5 miles each way). It is very important for my back and feet that I have shoes with good tread, cushioning and arch support. This show had all three. I do need extra arch support but that is because I have very high arches and I over pronate. Each time I get a new pair my back pain goes away and my foot and calf cramps get better.

I've been wearing Brooks Dyads since the single digit version (read: over a decade). Since I had such a successful relationship with the Dyad, I ignored all the reviews that this version didn't fit right. Everyone was completely correct. I wear a half-size up with Dyads. I ordered the same size I always do (8 1/2), and not only were they incredibly tight from top to bottom, my toe almost hit the front of the shoe when I usually have at least a half-inch of space. This was even before I put in my orthotics. When I put my orthotics in (which barely fit), I struggled to get my foot in the shoe. When you're developing something, you should only improve functionality and possibly style. This really seems like a huge step back that even a size change won't improve. I also tried the Addiction and Adrenaline, and it appears I'm moving on to the Addiction.

I have been a loyal Dyad customer for several years. I've owned about 15 pairs of the Dyad 8. I was super excited that the "New" 9s had a more youthful color combination. However, once I wore them I began to get serious foot pain in my arch, and forefoot???? Not sure what happened, but I'm so extremely disappointed in the new 9 update! I will be shopping for a new model. Thankfully, I was able to buy up 3 pairs of the 8's. So sad my go to shoe is no longer.

The bottom of the shoes started falling apart almost immediately causing a fall going down a big hill. Brooks are usually my go to shoes but these where not comfortable, fell apart quickly,and a safety hazard

This pair of Brooks Dyad 9 are the answer to the prayers of my feet and legs. I am going through another round of Physical Therapy in order to gain more strength and energy. In Sept I had leg bypass surgery and 5 arteriograms and had PT then. These athletic shoes are really supportive to the regimes that are helping me get back my get up and go. The fact that they are available in wide help is essential to using my orthotics.

SO DISAPPOINTED! Brooks made these shoes much more flexible, less stable, and less supportive than the Dyad 9, to the point where they can no longer serve the purpose Brooks states they are intended for--orthotics wearers. The Dyad 8s were fantastic, but my orthotics won't sit flat in these new ones, there isn't enough torsional rigidity (you can too easily twist the shoe at the arch, which equals not much support), and there is just too much movement all over for orthotic wearers. We need a stable, supportive foundation for our orthotics, and Brooks USED to make that in the Dyad, but not anymore. After years of loyalty to Brooks Dyad, I'm going to have to look for another brand now. So disappointing.

I have no idea what Brooks did with their Dyads, but it isn't the same shoe at all. I don't know if they changed manufacturers or design. I'm so disappointed and have no idea what shoe to try now. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

I loved the Dyad 7 and Dyad 8 and wore them with orthotics. I hate the Dyad 9 and regret buying it. I was measured at a shoe store and bought the same size as before- size 7.5 wide. It is far narrower and forefoot sides are far apart when laced. I'm done with Dyads. I hope I can find another shoe that will accommodate my orthotic well.

I buy the Dyad like clockwork every six months for the last 4 years because I wear orthotics and they do the job and actually have some color to them. Upon seeing the new EE width being offered with this version I was skeptical and after reading reviews on here and brooks website decided to go with a EE width instead of D. My orthotics fit however the heel cup is shallower and with the orthotic no longer works even if you get the wider width. If a D width used to fit, don't waste your time with this model anymore, it's a shame- if it ain't broke don't fix it brooks! As an alternate I ended getting a pair of asics fortitude 7 which fits pretty well but only come in one color on here.

I liked the looks of the shoe but there is something missing about this shoe that my other Brooks shoes have. The heel did not fit well and was low compared to others I have. Not much of an arch support. Just a poor quality shoe all around. Sorry I will be returning.

The shoes are great looking with lots of support and the cushion that I need. They run about a 1/2 size small as I had to exchange for a larger size. Customer Support was great and made the exchange easy.

I have very wide feet with high insteps these are the best!

Description says Neutral--It's not - thicker in center and leans to outside. Great cushioning and well-made. I'll keep shopping for another Brooks.

Order half size up as other reviewers have stated. Shoe is narrower in toebox than other Brooks styles I've worn. It was still comfortable to me.

These are the only shoes that accommodate both my custom orthotics and the carbon fiber plate that I have to wear under the orthotics. My seriously arthritic feet love these shoes! I wear them all day every day, and they allow me to keep line dancing and going to Zumba. When they get tired looking, I buy a new pair. Thank you, Brooks!

I'm so glad I ignored the negative reviews! This is one of the few shows I can wear, due to my extra wide width and underpronating. I was thrilled with the new attractive style, but was worried about the reviews. I decided to order it anyway. I'm glad I did, because they are super comfortable and fit just as well as before!

I need to have an good sneaker with little give to protect my foot and have enough room for my prosthetic. this sneaker gives you the room and comfort you are looking for. Zappos Customer service found me the size I needed and shipping it overnight.

I do like this sneaker except I wish it were a bit wider. I would buy again sometime.

These Dyad 9 sneakers size 7 1/2 fit and feel great. I first purchased a Dyad 8 in a size 7 and it was too small. I worked with customer service for the return and they were extremely helpful and friendly. As a long time customer, I've found you can't beat the quality and service at Zappos.
