These would have been great shoes, and great looking, too, if they weren't just a little too short. True to a medium width, but not to a size 12. I've worn Brooks before and the shoes used to be true to size, but not any more.

I used to be a big fan of the Adrenalines until they began remaking them and then I switched to ASICS. Alas, the Gel Kayano's are now either too long for my foot or too short if I order a half size down and I'm having the same problem with the width. The regular width is way too wide and the narrow is too narrow. Because I wear an orthotic my doctor recommended going into the Glycerin or Ghost for the cushioning. Bad move. My husband has a short wide foot and he loves the Ghosts, but I find that they simply aren't deep enough. I have a high instep and with my orthotic they feel loose in the width in the narrows, but tight across the top of the shoe which gave me a phenomenal amount of pain. The bottoms are nicely cushioned and I would love them if the fit conformed more to my foot shape. I'll try the Glycerins again, but i think my Brooks days are over. BTW, like all athletic shoes, these run a half size to a size short. I wear a 9 in sandals and a 9-9.5 in regular shoes, and I had to go with a 10.5 narrow in these. A few years ago I wore a 10 narrow in these and the sizes and fit just keep changing so much from year to year that it makes it impossible for me and other customers to consistently purchase a shoe they would otherwise love. Sent them back and the search is still on to find a perfect pair of athletic shoes to power walk in.

Love Brooks, I have 2 other pairs, but these are too wide at the top of the foot area. My foot felt like there was too much space, not a form fitting shoe, which I like for running or working out.

I loved my Ghost 7's. Unfortunately, I wore the tread off of them! My pink/purple Ghost 9's are good, just not as good as my old 7's. I need to buy arch support insoles because it's lacking. This new shoe is flatter so my toes do not roll as easy when I run.

Brooks Ghost shoe was always my go to shoe for years. However, I am very disappointed in the Ghost 9. What happened to the comfortable, supportive shoe. Sadly, these are going back! I will have to try a different style and possibly a different brand.

I ordered a half size larger than I usually order in tennis shoes. These were still too snug for me and just didn't fit my foot right. I have trouble finding shoes due to my narrow feet with high arches. Still looking for the perfect tennis shoe for being on my feet 12 hours at work.

Great color fit was really bad. Ordered 1/2 size bigger and felt my toes on rt and lt. No Brooks for me.

This is a new design of a previously excellent shoe. Why do this? Why not just change the colors? I have worn Ghost 8 and previous versions and they were all satisfactory. The Ghost 8 was the most comfortable of all of them and also had the most cushioned base without sacrificing structure and support. The new Ghost 9 lacks enough arch support and the base of the shoe is very hard and not at all comfortable to stand in. I can feel the hard ground under my feet when I walk. The toe box has been redesigned. The front of the shoe narrows to a point and there is a hard piece of plastic sewn into top that just digs into my big toe when I walk. The previous Ghost 8 had a softer, rounder toe with nothing in the way of the toes. I noticed a lack of decent arch support as my feet were sliding back and forth in the shoe. It is getting more and more difficult to find good sneakers these days whether you run or walk. Prices are too high for a cloth and rubber shoe that doesn't last that long either. Brooks is an excellent company and I've worn their brand for many years. I hope the next version will be an improvement. Just because this style didn't work for me doesn't mean that others will have the same experience. Give Brooks a try.

Wonderful shoes, except that the Ghost 9 is smaller in the toe than Ghost 8. Does not fit my foot. Am very unhappy with Brooks for ruining a great running/walking shoe.

I usually by Brooks Adrenaline, but the wide sizes do not have a color that I like. So, I tried this one. I am not as happy with it: seems to be a thinner, more flexible sole than the Adrenaline: my feet are a bit sore after walking in them all day. I also am not thrilled with the shiny details.

I wear a size 12 and I've never had Brooks feel too small. I had to return them and so sad about Brooks no longer being my trusted shoe brand.

After 4 pair of the Brooks Ghost, over the course of 4 years, I'm giving up. I wear them out fast due to the miles I walk on my treadmill, and rarely wear them outside. I love so many things about this shoe, but the fabric on the 9 isn't durable. First my pinky toes broke through the webbing. Even tho the breech was small I knew it wouldn't be long before they were completely ruined. I emailed Brooks. They said it was common for some and suggested I order a half size larger. I hemmed and hawed over giving them another chance, since they cost over $100. My second pair lasted a month longer and then a snag began right above the toe box. I've never had the material on a pair of athletic shoes give way before a shoe was worn out. I'm sad to give up the fit and comfort, but adios Brooks!

I have worn two pairs of Ghost 8 and loved them. It is hard to find a really narrow athletic shoe. The Ghost 9 was too short in my left shoe (given, my longer foot but the Ghost 8 fit just fine) and seemed wider in general than the previous model. I am returning them - with nowhere to go since the Ghost 8 is not available in my size.

I have found that the colors are not all sized the same. The silver/blue atoll/lime fits the best for me. I ordered the Night sky/black anthracite -- it was too narrow in the toe box - I returned it for a 1/2 size larger and it was too long. I also ordered the Black/sparking grape/ceramic -- it fit more like my silver pair, not ideal, but I kept them. I suppose the sizing differences are due to the different manufacturing facilities, but it makes it very frustrating for the customer. However, once you find the right size in a color you like, the ghost 9 is a very supportive comfortable shoe.

For the last five years I have worn exclusively the Brooks Ghost and Glycerin styles. Both are neutral shoes that come in a wide width. I have wide feet, and planter fasciitis, and use the shoes with a custom arch. I go through 2 to 4 pair per year, and generally have one of each in my closet at any time. I just received this pair tonight and will need to return them for a larger size. They are definitely smaller than any of the previous versions. I don't know if I need a half size or a whole size larger, but thankfully Zappos makes returns easy. The plastic cap on the toe is something I could definitely do without, and I hope that in the larger size I cannot feel it. In addition to being too short, although my inserts fits in the shoe OK, they seem a tad bit narrower. The cushion seems nice but it is hard to pay attention when my toe is hitting the end of the shoe. The arch feels incorrectly placed with this size, too.

These are really uncomfortable - they were so tight on my feed and very uncomfortable from the start - stiff. I tried to walk around my home in them but my feet were so squished that I started to feel my pulse in my feet/toes. I ordered my usual size but I'd say they run small.... I'm between exchanging them or just returning them completely. But the style is really cute... so who knows. If you try it - I'd say order up and really consider the width... I have skinny feet and these suckers hurt!

Blisters!!! There was a lot of rubbing on the bottom of my arch and it rubbed huge blisters. I thought it would get better and just needed to work out the new shoes, but it didn't and was very painful. I like the way they look, but other than that they don't serve their purpose for a runner.

I have loved the Ghost series until these, the lateral distal end of the shoes feels like there is something beneath the 4th and 5th toes. Hope you they consider going back to the way they were. Still would recommend Brooks!!

Lovelovelove the ghost sneaker but the sizing is routinly a toss up. whole size too small, half size larger, TOO BIG.

I have bought several ghost shoes and have loved them. I ordered these and the arch is higher and fit are very different than my favorite Ghost 6. They actually make my forefoot pronate. Uncomfortable.

Love the look of the shoe but not enough cushion/padding under the big toe area.

This is a beautiful shoe but the wide (D) is too narrow in this style shoe. And it is a half size to small. I wear Brooks all the time this is the first time this happens.

Sadly, the Ghost 9 has undergone a few but significant style changes. I've been wearing every Ghost from 4-9 and this is the first time I've had to return them. #1 You'll need to size up 1/2 size, #2 The tip of the shoe does not have mesh so your toes will hit the leather #3 The tongue is shorter and does not have a loop to keep it in place. I'm very displeased with about these changes. At first I thought it might be a mistake so I took mine to a running store to compare - nope, the same. They noted it as well, especially the sizing.

I've worn the Ghost 7 and 8 and loved them, buying several pairs. This new version has something uncomfortable going on with the toe, so while I might have been comfortable if I'd gone another half size up, I'm just returning and trying a new style.
