I’m a chef who stands 50+ hours a week. This is my 4 th pair of these New Balance shoes. I use my own orthotics in them. They have lots of toe room and are very comfortable. I have to replace them every 6 months, as they begin to self destruct after 6 months of use.

The toe area just past the tongue is very tight for a wide shoe

This is an excellent shoe, however I found the 857 NB to be more comfortable. I would rate this as 5 stars for comfort however it feels rather stiff at first.

My 4th pair of these. I’m a chef on my feet 55 hours a week. These are great, wide and don’t press on toes. I use an orthotic in them. Need replacement every 6 months like clockwork. They will literally start to self destruct when it’s replacement time.

I have been buying this style for my daughter for the past 3 years as her work shoe. She has a short, wide foot, which is hard to find styles that are comfortable. This IS!

They’re big and bulky but great support. I have wide feet so it is what it is.

These aren’t the prettiest shoes but they are very comfortable and that is everything when you have a problem foot. I just hope they don’t discontinue these.

i work 20 hours a week as a waitress, on my feet, non-stop action at the restaurant. these shoes lasted about 4 months before i started noticing some ankle pain from being on my feet and the shoe losing some structure. so, i decided to buy a new pair every 3 months, so my ankle doesn't get sore. decent work shoe for a waitress.

This is the most uncomfortable New Balance shoe I have ever had the misfortune of buying and I have had many pairs. No fault to Zappos. I have had nothing but sore feet and blisters form these things. They are far narrower than the 4E indicated. Even after trying for two torturous weeks to break them in, my feet are killing me. Do not buy. They are going in the trash where they belong. Buyer beware.

Great! Feel comfortable and great for walking.

These were purchased as a work shoe because my employer requires all white tennis shoes without a lot of color/branding/logos. I am also on my feet 12 hours per day and running around in a very active job. These shoes fit the bill. I ordered my regular size, and they fit fine. They are quite stiff, but I need a lot of support, so that helped in the long run. Took a while to break in, but then they worked. I used my own orthotics too, and the shoe collar is high enough to accommodate. It's truly the best a plain hard working work shoe can get. Replace every 4 months.

I ordered my regular size of 8.5W and fit was good. The toe box is nice and deep. The shoes are VERY supportive. They are extremely stiff when you first start wearing them, and that takes some getting used to. I like that they are leather because they are easier to clean. I am an instructor in esthetics and my uniform requires white shoes. 12+ hour days running on my feet the entire time, and my feet/legs/back feel as good as they can in these shoes. I have many ortho issues, and good shoes are a must for work - these fit the bill. I can wear my custom orthotics in them, but they also feel pretty comfortable without. Would buy again if they're still around when I need replacements.

My podiatrist recommended New Balance. I use these for walking as well as for golf. For me, they are a good fit with very good support.

The shoe was slightly tight in the evening when my feet are at their biggest. By the end of the 2nd day it was a perfect fit, and I had a salty lunch.

This is a great shoe. Very well made.

I’m a postal carrier and my feet hurt SO BAD at the end of every day. I got these shoes and I also bought arch support inserts and they were a complete game changer. They took a few days to break in but they were great after that. Not the most attractive sneaker out there but really good for working a job where you’re on your feet constantly.

These are great for chefs. The only complaint is insole is cheap but I replace with insole from podiatrist. For the price they should definitely come with a better quality insole with actual support.

Great on wet surfaces. Shoe is a little sloppy on width. Bottom sole is spunky.

I have always counted on NB to provide decent arch support. Apparently I need to search elsewhere.

The numbers on the shoes that I ordered did not match. Not sure if that made a difference but I found them to be a little smaller than what I needed.
