I will start by saying the appearance of these boots is on point and the workmanship is beautiful. They are wonderfully made and the color selections are great. We've been on the hunt for good winter boots since my daughter was 2. She is now 6, and I thought for sure when I purchased these boots that they would be it. We live in Wisconsin so winters are quite harsh, and the kids play outside daily unless it is below zero. We played outside today in these for the first time for 30 minutes at 25 degree temps. When we came inside my daughters toes were quite cold, and the footbed and toe on the inside of the boots was very cold to the touch. Maybe my daughter just has poor circulation, but alas we are still on the hunt for a winter boot that performs in cold temperatures.

Aggressive tread, and good looks. Adequate padding in the shaft, but sadly lacking insulation in the part that covers the foot.

They look nice and work as an everyday winter boots. After snow play my son's feet were SO soaked that I couldn't get his boot off. We have resorted to putting his foot in a plastic bag before putting these on. Def shouldn't be doing that for the cost.

I bought these on vacation in CO. They are adorable and very warm. However, one of the lace loops broke after 3 days of wear. I will sew it back myself and try to reinforce the other loops.

I bought 4 pairs of these for my 4 young daughters for Christmas. They have worn them intermittently since then and we love the look, comfort, and ease of getting on and off. I was actually about to buy their next size up to have for next winter. I had originally purchased the 2.0 version for less at an outlet but saw some reviews on here about them not being waterproof as claimed so I returned the 2.0s and spent more $ to purchase the 3.0s thinking the kinks would be worked out in the newer version. I am a decades long loyal Merrell customer. Imagine my disappointment when they tested the waterproof-ness of the boots for the first time yesterday in water barely past the tops of the rubber sole perimeter and all 4 boots became immediately soaked with icy water throughout the bottom interior. So upsetting to spend so much on a product thinking it is the top of the line only for it to fail at the basic function you purchased it for.

I usually love Merrell products, but this one was a disappointment. Within 6 weeks we had to return these boots and get new ones so my kid would have warm and dry feet. We took the insoles out to dry them and most of the bottom of the inside of the boot came crumbling out. Luckily we bought them from a place with a great return policy because there's no way we would have gotten through the winter with these.

I bought theses boots 3 weeks ago and I have to return them because they aren't water proof. Feet got damp and feet gets cold. It wasn't' Cold outside. I'm really disappointed.

Fits way too wide and the straps didn't thight the ankle enough, seemed like my son had adult-size boots on. Also, he always had wet feet at the end of the day. I won't buy these next winter!

The construction materials make this a very still boot for children. Even after wear no give.

I rate it -1, if that would be possible. Not sure what had happened with the quality control. But these boots are NOT WATERPROOF at all.

I bought this boots for our trip to Colorado; I needed something good quality and waterproof; well, day 1- my kid plays in the snow for 10 mins while we unload the car, and her feet already wet and cold; seriously, Merrell? Now I need to search for another pair of nice boots in the middle of the mountain ; very frustrating

So narrow! You cannot put any pants inside the boots, unless they are leggings. Snow might get inside. Just a big no for me.

We are a Merrell family and have been for years. I have never experienced anything like this with Merrell shoes. Merrell fits his wide feet amazing and he's been wearing them since he was a small child. He loved these boots so much, we got the second pair until he wore them for 2.5 weeks (normal kid wear, not even in bad weather or anything) and the laces feel apart and more importantly the seems on top started opening up. Don't know what to do, to be honest. Especially what to do with the second pair.

I bought these same boots last year they were amazing. He would be out playing in snow and his feet/socks would stay completely dry and warm. This year he plays outside for 30 minutes and his poor feet and socks are wet and cold! I do not recommend this years boot. If they kept my sons feet dry they would be perfect as they are lightweight and easy for a young child to put on and take off on their own.

I bought this model and it upset me. The child's feet freeze at -9 And this is with warm winter woolen socks. A waste of money on this product and the brand itself. Wouldn't recommend!

I love and use Merrell for years (I have never worn sandals other than Merrell in the last 15 years). Always both comfortable and durable! This time I bought these boots for my daughter. And unexpectedly for me, I was extremely disappointed. Two months after I bought them, they crack in a way that I have no chance of repairing. And the replacement period with the supplier is one month. Too bad they couldn't last at least one season!

The boots fit great, but a couple weeks in tow earring them the bungee laces snapped. For the price, they should have lasted longer than that. Very disappointed.

I bought these boots for my daughter expecting them to be waterproof, but they are not! My daughter's socks are always soaked and so is the inside of the boot even when her snow pants go over the boot so no snow can go in! Very disappointed in these.
