These are some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I wear them with Red Wing inserts and I feel like I am walking on air. I have had plantar fascitis and so I am really glad that these feel so good.

I’ve worn 990s for years. I wouldn’t keep coming back if they weren’t the best available for me. I wear a AA in quality dress shoes. The B fits me perfectly in this shoe. I buy two pair at a time and they go in the closet until needed. I checked these two pair fo size and stored them.

I have worn this particular New Balance shoe for several years now, and I am very happy with them. They seem like old friends the minute I put them on. And Zappos always has them in the size and width I need. I also got them the very next day after I ordered them, phenomenally fast delivery.

This model of the 990 (v4) fits narrower than the v3. I used to wear a 2A (extra narrow) but in this newer model I wear a B (narrow).

My third pair and this one is as good or better than the others. Though a little more money than some other models, these are well worth it in comfort and wearability and good looks.

Great shoes - and American made!

If you are the runner or walker in need of a stable shoe this will fit the bill. Performs as good as it looks. I have the typical lower body (knees) issues as many 58 year old runners. Better than average amount of forefoot flex to keep your gait unrestricted. Works on my TRUEFORMRUNNER treadmill and on the streets equally well.

These are the best running shoes ever? I always have two pair on hand.

These shoes took care of my once-aching feet. As an over-pronator I was literally rolling out of my old shoes. These shoes brought back the necessary support that makes my feet feel great!

With the V4 as a long time wearer of the New Balance 990 the V4 shoe has worked in a few small tweaks that work perfectly for me (the tongue is now much softer to pull up to the top of the show opening). This model is a true 5 star shoe and unbeatable. I now use the 990V4 as a walking shoe as well as a running shoe, If you are going to be on your feet all day, I actually like the 990V4 for its comfort since it has more mesh than a self-styled walking shoe for sweat issues but has the traditional top of the line running shoe shock absorb technology. For me at least, this is the perfect shoe, By the way, I have used this shoe as a hiking shoe if there are no excess rocks on the trail. Hope this helps (and New Balance please make this shoe forever).

I am a nurse and on my feet for 12 hours a day. I have been wearing 990's for years. They are a very comfortable shoe and make my feet feel great after a long day.

Ordered color Blue/Red, nice fit, excellent for running. Exceeded expectations.
