I am carry-on traveler, but when I checked a bag, this was it! Much cheaper than a Tumi (both are going to get destroyed by the airlines anyway.) Pros - holds a ton of stuff. Cons - holds too much stuff and will weigh over 50 lbs if you fill it up all the way. I loved this thing until the shell was cracked open by Delta Airlines. It was only 41 lbs when this occurred. I loved the fact that it had NO zippers. Anyone can open a zipper suitcase with a pen, so I switched to this. This is also great for a short family trip with the family. My wife and I threw all our stuff in this one suitcase and kids had their own bags.

I purchased all 3 sizes of this particular case (21, 26, & 30). I love that they don't have zippers, I was worried that they would be less secure because of it but I could have been more wrong. The latches close securely (although if the case is stuffed full it is possible for the latch to not 'catch' right so be careful of that). The cases also seem huge! Tons of space to store your items and with the hard sided case they'll be more secure. I stacked all 3 cases inside each the 30inch case with no difficultly, they do become HEAVY then, but my goal was to test how well the wheels worked and I can say they work fantastic even when heavy. I also liked that the inner lining has a zipper to access where the poles rest, obviously to access them when they need repairs, but it is also a great place to store some small or valuable items! I haven't traveled via an airline yet but they seem so sturdy and durable that I doubt there will be an issue. They are a bit heavier than average but I would rather have my gear protected than a few more ounces of clothes.

Lots of airline travel

I use this luggage for traveling on business. I like its style and easy to carrying. It is, however bot very spacious for a luggage this size.

I loved this product until I wasn't able to latch it for almost 30mins. The capacity is small - I bought the 26" luggage - HUGE mistake if you are going away for more than one week. The interior design needs some adjustments and make it easy to latch. I did not over stuff this bag. Another thing, it does scratch easily. Overall, not for long trips especially if you are a woman.

We bought this suitcase because we needed something sturdy for the chaos of international travel, and it is absolutely gorgeous on the outside. Unfortunately, the interior design is terrible! The buckled flap that is meant to keep the sides separate is too small, so items from one side keep falling out into the other. Aside from that flap, there is not an additional strap to secure your belongings on one of the sides. Additionally, there are no zippered compartments in the suitcase, which was a disappointment. This is the type of suitcase that requires the use of luggage cubes/storage bags, which was really more of a hassle than wee had bargained for. We will be returning this product, and what is even more disappointing is that we will be paying an exorbitant return shipping fee. I really wanted and expected more from Samsonite.

Easy to use, practical suitcase

I use this product almost weekly for air travel. It was a replacement when an airline destroyed a similar older model. I was offered this model or one with a zippered closure and a zippered divider. The older model (of which my wife and I still have three) had latches between the shell halves (like this one) but had a zip-in-place internal divider. This model has two ineffective clips on the divider that have yet to stay in place once the airlines are done with it. It is rather annoying to open the bag and have everything from the top half roll onto the floor. This model's divider also allows items to wedge between the shell halves when simply trying to close the bag - the latches then won't close. If you are carrying only rigid items larger than a laptop in the top shell, this model might work for you. If you are carrying clothes, I recommend a different model.

One star because I've tried to reach to out to samsonite TWICE and they haven't gotten back to me. I received my luggage with the zipper (of the inside lining) broken. I wanted to exchange it before having to use it two weeks after ordering it.
