After trying on about 8 different brands and styles -- thanks, Zappos-- my son chose these. They have a soft, flexible back which doesn't rub against my son's heel. The toe area is roomy enough for his slightly wide feet, and he likes the way they look. For reference, he measures as a size 4.5, but takes a size 5.5 in these. For whatever reason, my son and I both take a full size larger in Nikes.

Careful of the color if you're looking for orange. the color is much closer to hot pink than orange. My 10 year old son, was not going for that.

I bought these for my son who complained that the arch support was too prominent so I returned them. I wear the same size so I tried them on. They were comfortable for me, but I could feel the substantial arch support.

My son likes these and says they're comfortable. I'm not sure yet how well they'll hold up as they're rather thin. I suppose being thin makes them breathable though so that's a plus.

Excellent shoe in school uniform colors. My 7th grade daughter wore them all year and they are still going strong.

These shoes have stood the test of time! My son loves how light weight they are.

My son loves these!!! He says they are super comfortable we use them for some running and all around daily use. They hold up very well to constant use. My son takes a half size larger then what he actually measures. Very happy with these sneakers!

My son has had these since the summer of 2016, and were the only stylish pair he could find that he liked. The comfort is amazing and they are extremely lightweight. He loves them so much that we are ordering a pair a size up so he can continue to wear and run in these.

These shoes are light and bouncy. Only dismiss is that these shoes are wider than most and I have wide feet.

My 4th grader loves these! His second pair of Nikes -- finally a brand that he can outgrow before they wear out. The color of these is a great match for the Smokey Gray uniforms from Tennessee, if you're into such a thing. ;) Sturdy and comfortable, and easy to get on. A win!

I was looking for a new pair of running shoes to replace my over-worn Nikes. Initially, I chose the Black pair, but wanted something different. Although the color options were nice, they were a bit too much for my simplistic taste. When the shoes came in, I was delighted with the grey color. It didn't take long to break in the new shoes. They are comfortable and I am very happy with my purchase!

flexible light weight and bouncy. My ten year old loves them. Clean enough look in the grey/orange/white for an athleisure look.

We love these shoes for my son. This is our 3rd time ordering the same shoe. They are light weight and although they are not "wide," they feel good on his somewhat wide feet!

Runs much smaller than the regular Nike shoes I normally order. Had to exchange for larger size twice.

I ordered these for my son, and he absolutely loves them. They fit true to size and are very nice looking in person. He says they are very comfortable.

My 8 yr old son loves these shoes! He has a lot of shoes, and he's been wearing these to school every day since they arrived. He's always had ones that velcro close, and this is the first time he actually chooses to wear ones that tie, so they must be comfortable. They look cool too! I returned the 4's for a 4.5. They seem to run a bit small.

Important to know: the swoosh on the black/white version is actually gray. It's very subtle but important if these are for a school with a strict dress code. Our school seems okay with it (I didn't ask because alternatives are few, but many kids had the same ones so I think we're safe!). As for fit, they run a full size smaller but are just deep enough for my child's orthotics. The arch support is moderately sufficient. There is minimal padding in the sole and none around or on top of the foot which I actually prefer, myself. Padded tongues typically cause people to tie the laces too tightly, putting pressure on the top of the foot. I can't speak to quality or endurance. I don't expect they'll last more than 6 months, but that's typical. I have a 2015 pair in the women's that I run on a treadmill in, which are almost the same shoe, and they've held up for 5 months now with little wear.

Gorgeous, exactly as pictured, true to size. They are wide, vibrant and have good support. My son loves them!

Fit well and my son thinks they are very comfortable. Haven't had them long enough to say how they'll hold up. Don't stay tied so he has to double knot. Overall he's happy so I'm happy.

Bought for my son, nice quality, surprisingly fit well with a moderately wide feet boy. Soft top, somewhat similar to expensive version of Nike Free Flyknit, which I run on.

These are great shoes but my only complaint is the shoelaces seem to be made of a more slippery material then other nike boys sneakers i have always boughtl,,,hence they come undone often even if they are double knotted. That's why i would rate it 4 stars

I love the style of this sneaker. Fit true to size. The shoe laces don't come undo which is great; however, the tongue doesn't stay put in the middle and slide to the side all the time. For this reason I give it 4 stars.
