I wear a lot of dresses/skirts in winter and have tried so many different tights. I'm short, 5'3" and most of the time I find tights come up way too high, a few inches above my waist. They also tend to pinch or roll. These do NOT. The waistband is wide and perfectly fit at my waist, it doesn't roll or pinch at all. Secondly, normal (Hue and the like) tights don't breathe at all and I find them very uncomfortable in the thigh area where I have my legs crossed during the day and am sweating, gross. I have had many pairs of wool tights because of this problem. I want my legs to be warm but not to sweat. Smartwool tights are ok, but they are seriously itchy and the waistband pinches. These are awesome! The merino wool is not itchy at all and since they are lined with cotton, they are very comfortable to wear. I haven't washed them yet, this is the first day I've worn them, so I hope they don't pill and look ratty like the smartwool tights have done (I have 3 of those and am ready to throw them all in the trash!) These tights are very expensive, but I do believe the investment is worth it, at least for me. You can't tell from the picture, but these tights have a formed foot, which is wonderful (Smartwool tights do also). They allow the tights to fit properly without the bagginess at the front of your ankle or the tightness on your heel. Since there were no reviews on here or pictures that showed the top of the tights, I did some research and found them sold elsewhere with more pictures and lots of reviews. Everything I read there was positive and that's why I decided to give them a shot. So glad I did! I'm considering buying another pair, I purchased the anthracite which is exactly as depicted on my screen.

I love these tights. I needed something warm for some trips to cold weather locations. These are soft and lightweight enough to be worn under dresses, skirts and jeans (though probably not skinny jeans). One word of warning: DO NOT follow the suggestion made by the customer in 2016 who said she ordered "up" (ordered a MD/LG rather than a SM/MD) even though she was only 5'2". I did so on her recommendation and have to return the MD/LG tights; they're at least 4 inches too long at the waist and have a slight bag at the ankles. These tights are true to size. I'm 5'4", 125 lbs., fairly muscular legs and big fee (9 1/2). The SM/MD tights fit perfectly but am returning the MD/LG.

I love these merino wool tights, very soft and comfortable, and keeps me warm enough and feels breatheable! I am 5'2" and 115 lbs. I have very skinny ankles and am thicker around the thighs. These are one of the first pairs of tights I purchased and they are perfect for the San Francisco Bay Area weather -- warm enough to wear out in the city at night in the winter time (although no snow here) with a skirt and ankle high boots, and looks great in the office too. At first I thought the $74 price tag was high but the reviews were good, and they were right -- these are worth the money. I've worn them maybe 8x now and they survive snags and washes just fine. Just be sure to take good care of them like any other tights so that it lasts a while :-) I like the Anthracite color -- they are dark but not too black. I will be looking for another pair in a lighter color. I LOVE THEM!

Material is soft and seemed like it would be warm and durable. But only wore once because the the top of the tights kept rolling down creating a big bulge and the feet were bunching up. Turns out that even though my height and weight (5’4” 158 lbs) were solidly in the M/L size range, these tights were too big. That only became apparent after wearing so I can’t return, making this was a very expensive, unfortunate purchase. If you are confident in your sizing, might be worth the money.

These are perfect for under a skirt. The waist band is not tight - so no pinching. I usually wear a size 14 /LG - sometimes XL for curvy hips and thighs. These are just what I have been looking for in warmth - so I don't need to always wear pants to keep warm

The MD/LG fits my 5'6", 130 lb frame with no bunching at the ankles. I do pull the waist up quite high, but it can also be rolled over at least once with no issue. The material feels wonderful and is quite warm, though not impenetrable to the cold on a sub-freezing day. Unlike other tights, these do not pinch my toes, and my shoe size is 9.5. Overall great quality and love the molded feet.

Expensive, yes, but worth it. They fit amazingly well and they are warm. They're well made and seem like they'll last a very long time. They are easy to care for by washing on gentle and hanging to dry. I'd rather have two or three pairs of these than an entire drawer full of drug store opaque tights that never really fit well and certainly don't ever keep your legs warm. It's just a matter of priorities. I've decided that it's worth it to buy Falke Merino tights and I'll save money elsewhere in my life. Once you've worn them one time, you will find it difficult to compromise and will always want to wear them.

I am 5'3", 120 lbs, and I sized up and got the MD/LG. They look nearly opaque, but would probably look slightly less than completely opaque if I had ordered my size. They have a very refined finish and feel very smooth on. They stay up nicely (again, note I sized up). I haven't washed them yet but I will try to remember to update my review when I do.

I am very happy with how warm these tights are (for tights obviously). I think they are comfortable in the waist and are not scratchy at all, and the shaped foot is great. They held up well though several wearings and a wash. However, I am on the short side (5'3"), so my only complaint is that they "puddle" at my ankle pretty quickly and need to be adjusted.

These are well made and will hopefully last a lifetime (I’m in my early 50s so…) with proper care. I like the heavier weight and wool content. Perfect to wear with a sweatshirt dress in the GA chill.

These are my favorite tights. Please carry them in all colors and sizes. I want some of the more unusual colors. They are very sweater feeling, but nice and warm and not itchy. I'm 5'5" tall, 143 lbs, and 38-33-40. I don't like my tights tight, so I ordered a Large. They are a hair big, but I like my tights a little too big.

These tights are wonderful. They are soft and warm. I hand wash them and hang to dry. The fit is great and never baggy in the knee even after a full day.

These tights are awesome, so soft, comfy and warm.

My daughter, sister, and friend and I have been wearing these tights for years and for me they have become an essential part of my winter wardrobe. They are as warm as wearing pants and more comfortable. I hope Falke will make the ribbed ones available again, but I like the solid too and all the colors are good and last pretty well. After about five years they will get some holes but that's a pretty good run for the money.

Beautiful tights but had to return. Too itchy. Reviews seem to say otherwise but if you're very sensitive, they might be too itchy for you, too.

The Large size tights are long, for taller folks. They have a small waist. Better size labeling here would be Short and Tall.

The size was a little off - the feet were too large (creating bunching), and the hips part was a little tight. In addition, the wool was a tad itchy - not sure if it was because it was too tight at the top or otherwise. I really wanted to like these tights, but they just weren't a great fit for me! If you have smaller feet (size 6.5-7), then be careful with "larger" sizes.
