I use a hat every day to walk the dog in the mountains, and this is a very durable hat for daily use.

This is my everyday hat it's great. It's easy to clean and never feels tight on your head.

Great cap that fits snug and is stylish. It stays on while hiking those wind swept summits in the Rocky Mountains as well!

Good hat, simple design. Lightweight, so good for physical activities which is why I bought the hat. It's a little bigger than other hats I'm used to wearing, but not terrible.

Love the color and the style, the price is great too. The reason I give 4 stars is the cup is little bit deep. But still keep it.

I have been looking for a hat that fit my big head for a long time now. I did a search and Northface came up. I have always valued the quality of Northface products, and have never been disappointed. The hat arrived in the estimated time given. It was pacaged very nicely. I tried the hat on straight away. There was no messing around with adjustments to the hat. It was perfect. The color was exactly how it looked on the website too. Great quality. A little pricey for a hat, but it's NF, so you expect it. Very pleased! Another great purchase from Northface!

Hat is nice looking. My head must be too small.... The hat is a littlw roomy on top. I have to pull down real low so it fits better

I liked the hat because it comes in large size. The first one was a perfect fit so I bought another. It was much smaller. Definitely not L-XL as labeled.

Seems like a great workout material but it isn't stylish or comfortable enough to wear casually

The hat has a great color to it! The fit is odd, it fits my head as it is size adjustable but it looks strange when wearing with my hair up unlike my other baseball style caps. The style is good, just as advertised, I just personally don't like the fit of it.

I have a small head so very few hats fit me. I thought with the adjustable tab in the back if would be ok, but it's actually too long and goes over my ears weird.

I purchased the black and it shows a tonal front embroidery, instead I received a black hat with white embroidery.

The hats are good. I have three of them now. They fit my bald head well. Unfortunately, I was hoping to get a black hat with black lettering, but they sent a black hat with white lettering.
Also be aware that there is a slight fit difference between hats made in China and those made in Vietnam. The green, made in Vietnam, is a bit bigger than the black and grey, both made in China.

This would be the perfect adventure hat, but . . . the crown comes down way too far on the head, especially given that this hat is sized. This has strikes the perfect balance of being rugged, technical, yet casual. So you could wear it around town with jeans, or outdoor pursuits. Love the light but durable fabric, sun protection, and simple design. Was the most excited that TNF offers it in sizes. I have a small head. The S/M fits great around the perimeter of my head, but comes down way too low, so it pushes on my ears and leave no room for sunglasses. TNF, if your listen, borrow the low crown concept of the Breakaway, keep offering it in sizes, and you'll have the perfect adventure hat.

I purchased this hat to do some hiking in Glacier National Park and did wear it. I would really really like this hat, except the depth is too large. To get it to look right, the brim of the hat is at my eyebrows. Otherwise it is excellent quality and material. Lightweight and good for activities. But I would have to say I am disappointed, since it takes a lot to make it look OK to wear.

Not sure about the other colors, but the khaki hat comes down way to far on your head, all the way down to your ears. This makes it impossible to wear sunglasses and feels very weird. You could not bring it down all the way, but then it looks weird on top. Really unfortunate, because everything else about this hat is great, just the fit is all wrong

I bought a couple TNF "Horizon Hats" back in 2015. Hands down, the best training and general purpose hats I own. So I was excited to pick up a couple more this year. This iteration, the "Horizon Ball Cap," is disappointing for the following reasons. 1. Closure is different (worse). The "Horizon Hat" has a well-engineered two piece clip closure. This feature allows me to quickly clip the hat onto a pack strap, gearshift knob, whatever. Great for quickly drying out a wet hat, or stowing it when not needed. This "Horizon Ball Cap" has a plastic buckle, through which you weave a nylon strap. So the "quick clip" functionality is gone. 2. Sweatband is different (worse). The sweatband on the Horizon Hat is semi-perforated with tiny holes/dots. It also stretches. Horizon Ball Cap's sweatband has no perforations and does not stretch. It is, however, "branded" (i.e., says "TNF" in big letters). Reduced functionality, increased "branding." Fail. 3. No stretch elastic in the closure system. As stated above, the "Horizon Hat" has a two piece closure system with a plastic clip. One of the pieces is secured to the hat with stretchy elastic. This allows me to dial in the fit even better, and also makes the hat sit more security on my head. The "Horizon Ball Cap" has no such elastic in the closure. 4. Can't stow excess closure strap. Both hats are designed so the excess nylon closure strap can be stowed in a pocket inside the sweatband. The Horizon Hat has plenty of excess nylon strap to make this possible. The Horizon Ball Cap does not. When sized for my head (which is not especially large), there is not enough excess strap to reach the pocket. The excess nylon strap simply flaps in the breeze. In summary, every difference between this year's "Horizon Ball Cap" and the "Horizon Hat" I love feels like a reduction in quality, utility, and (probably) manufacturing costs for TNF. I hope TNF will return to the previous style.

I read the reviews on this hat and they were great but after receiving it, I'm disappointed. The hat seems oversized and when adjusting, it still doesn't seem to fit right. It's something about how it fits the crown of your head. It seems too snug and basically outlines the shape of your head more like a beanie rather than a hat....needs more support.

This hat is supposedly UPF 50+ but I'm questioning that because I can hold it up to light and see right through it. Emailed company asking for confirmation, haven't received a response.
