These are the perfect accompaniment to my Gore Salomon trail runners. Micro spikes, gaiters Salomon hikers and I am set for a dry day on the snowy trail of the North Shore local mountains of Vancouver B.C.

Just the right fit for Trail runs and long hikes,dirt and rocks stay on the trail and not in your shoe.

I added this to my spikecross shoes, as I wanted the metal spikes that don't come with some of the snowcross shoes, plus wanted the option to have a lower ankle. Perfect warmth even in -20C

I bought the gaiters specifically for the Mount Marathon Race (aka the worlds hardest 5k), which takes place every July 4th in Seward, Alaska. I used them mountain running, hiking and for the race. The gaiters were comfortable, lightweight and provided extra protection from debris, sharp rocks, and water.

These are great for fast and light trail running and hiking, especially in areas with tough, debris riddled terrain. I especially like the light padding in the ankle area - particularly nice protection when scrambling down scree slopes. The attachment is strong enough that it stays closed even in rough terrain.

Same issue I had with the low version. These seemed promising and were the right size for my shoes (women’s 10 in Brooks), but I couldn’t get them fastened snug enough to actually create the barrier around the bottom of my leg. Wrapping them around to fit gave the Velcro sides very little overlap to grab onto, and they started peeling open right away. Loosening them so the flaps would stay closed left a visible gap - could slip my pinky in - which defeats the purpose. Bummer.

Does what is meant and very well. Don't have any issues with that. I would like for it to have an all black material for tactical purposes. I'm currently using them for mountain bike patrol duties so therefore would like the all black. I also want to see a shoe lace clip so they stay in place.

These trail gaiters are really solid and would work well, but if you got "skinny" ankles / legs these won't do its job.. Your not able to tighten these well enough.. Tried all possible options.

I intended to use these with my Spikecross shoes. As other people have mentioned, they do not fit correctly. Too much material and velcro in the wrong place. You can also notice from the placement of the protection cushions that they are in completely wrong places. And please do not reply that you often take feedback into consideration when developing products. These issues have been mentioned already years ago, but the product is still poor. Instead, ask your customers to send the products to you so that you can give the money back. That's how a proper company acts.

Thought the design of these would be perfect for some of the more gnarly trails more durable materials, ankle padding, etc. I suspect they are too but they won't work with my shoes given the stack height.

These are a waste of your time to try these out. As mentioned in other reviews, they are poorly designed, fit poorly, chafe your legs, and worst of all don't stay on!

Rubber sole strap doesn't stay in place and wears through.

I bought these for a stage race, and first off had trouble wearing them as the band underfoot kept slipping back, the velcro was not tight enough. They then gave me horrendous burn marks around my ankles, avoid unless you are wearing long socks and can figure out they are going to stay put.

Most of my salomon gear I've been extremely happy with, but these did not live up to my expectations. The bottom strap on the gaiter constantly gets pushed back behind the heel of my shoe, and thus doesn't keep things out of my shoes like gaiters are supposed to. This has happened to me on every run and hike I've taken them on. I was really hoping I'd love these, but they are by far the worst gaiter I've owned.

I really wanted to like these. I even paid for expedited shipping to get them sooner. They just don't work. Note in the picture how the red edging hugs the gaiter? In real life, it doesn't. It sticks out because the velcro is too far from the edge on the underside of the flap. Not only does the red edging not lie down. It really sticks out. Far. No beef against Salomon. I love their stuff. But this product is poorly designed and the picture is very misleading.
