I am a frequent overnight business traveler. The Jet Laptop Backpack is the perfect bag with the right amount of space. I can fit my laptop, clothes, shoes, and a small toiletry bag and still have enough room for my phone and other accessories. The best part about this bag is that you can relax in the passenger area without fear of running out of overhead space as this bag fits nicely under the seat. Great bag!

My primary travel bag remains my Wingman (in fact, on my second Wingman) but for quick overnight trips was looking for a smaller backpack that could accommodate a suit and laptop. Enter the Jet backpack - which now is first line for my travel bags along with the Wingman and Navigator.

The Jet Pack is awesome. This is the perfect pack for an over-nighter or if you are a savvy packer a couple of nights. Separate compartments for my clothes and personal stuff and a dedicated pocket for my laptop, iPad and chargers. The pockets are useful and well placed, the zippers are sturdy and the pack still feels clean/not too busy. Fits under the seat of the plane as an over-nighter and up in the bin when I stuff it for a few days worth of travel. Overall I'm really happy with this purchase. *That's a good thing.

My only complaint is I often load the Jet Pack with too much stuff! It gets pretty heavy and then it's tough to put under my seat if I've already stored another bag. However, it's ideal for a 1 or 2 day trip, as it protects and stores all the gear I need to bring. Super easy to pack, with secure ways to make sure my stuff doesn't fly around everywhere, multiple handles to grab, comfortable as a back-pack and cool enough to look like a modern, grown up bag!

I've been researching a backpack to suit my needs, and ended up with this bag. It is a great backpack but there are a few shortcomings that make it short of perfect. I was looking for a bag that I can take with me on planes as a personal item, use with me on my motorcycle (a sportbike with no built-in luggage) and occasionally as my gearbag for sports. It's meant for urban travelers rather than outdoor expeditionists. There are four compartments: 1. A quick-access compartment 2. A organizational compartment for pens, notepads, etc. 3. A main compartment. 4. A laptop compartment. Sleek and black, with minimal labeling (+) it is built well (+) with quality materials (+) making it well-worth its price - The handles make it excellent to stow the bag under the seat or into the overhead bins (+). There are no cinch straps (-) nor outside pockets (-). The main compartment - comprised of an area that fully opens clamshell-style (+) and has a mesh overlay - designed for luggage in mind. It is spacious, but the lack of cinch-straps means shifting of loose items (-), and there is no way to bring loose weight closer to your body (-). Same gripe with a lack of a waist strap (-). Something minor, but if the main compartment opened between the backpack straps, it would be more secure traveling through less-than safe locations (-). Also, as there is no outside pocket, I stowed a water bottle in the main compartment and because I didn't completely tighten the cap, water spilled out every.where. Well, it was a good test the bag isn't waterproof (-), but it dried faster than my cotton socks (+)! Just an aside, the laptop compartment can hold up to 15.6" laptops: *slim, not gaming or multimedia laptops; there's a cap on the zipper ends to prevent it from digging into your back but catches the corners of larger computers (-). As seen above, there are some shortcomings that other bags may offer, but ultimately the size (+), quality (+), and features (+) the bag outweigh the cons.

My new job required a routine change - now I have to commute to Caltrain via bicycle on both ends of the train ride. I also need to go straight to the gym after Caltrain in the evening, so I needed something to carry the following: Gym Clothes Gym Shoes Climbing shoes & Harness Breakfast and snacks for work (luckily my lunch is provided) 16 oz Contigo coffee tumbler 20 oz Swell Water Bottle Book to read on the train my A5 planner/notebook (about 1 inch thick) pens glasses bike U lock and Cable bike lights, & gloves. I purchased some compression packing cubes that help minimize space with my clothes and climbing harness. I use an Insulated 'Click N Go Roll Top lunch Bag' to hold my coffee mug and water bottle to prevent any leaks, and keep this in my main compartment. It is a con that there isn't a water bottle holder on the outside, but the one I have on my original Timbuk2 backpack (now 6 years old and still great) stretched out and sometimes while riding my bike or bending down to lock up my wheels, the water bottle would fall out, so I don't mind having it all inside the bag to prevent that from happening. I try to pack as much as I can into the main compartment because I did find that, while having a lot of great pockets, filling them all creates such a huge turtle shell on my back; I am 5'2" and carrying something that big on my back get's tiring after a while. So mindfully packing this bag keeps the silhouette slim. The straps can be a little uncomfortable, digging into my neck traps a little, but I wonder if it just needs to be broken in... I am short and on the bustier side so it takes a while to find the sweet spot on a bag probably measured to a taller man; I am definitely a fan of the sternum strap, especially for biking. It's been too long for me to remember if I had this problem with my first Timbuk2 bag, which sits comfortably. Overall love the features on This bag and the modern, sleek look for work to gym. Timbuk2 is great quality!

This bag is great for commuting on crowded trains and streetcars because the front is a sleek profile with no bulging pockets. There are enough pockets to organize your things with some smaller ones to help your chapstick, headphones or tissue packets end up in the bottom. The side handles are also helpful when you need to reach for something when that does happen. One minor critique, it would great if the 2nd section had a zipper opening that went to the bottom as well.

This is a great bag for weekend trips or even an every day bag, which you can include your laptop and gym clothes. However, it will fall apart. But the company warranty is outstanding, so if they can't fix it, they will give you store credit so you can purchase a new one.

This backpack actually holds a ton more than I initially thought. I was able to pack a suit, men's size 9 dress shoes a few extra shirts and my tech stuff. I like the look overall as well. Wish the straps could hide away and also had a water bottle holder. Overall I will use this for 2-3 day business trips where I also pack gym shoes and clothing. This bag looks better in person than it does online.

Spent a long time looking at bags, and finally chose this one as a travel backpack. It looks great, is pretty much totally waterproof, and has plenty of pockets. It opens like a suitcase, and has a mesh divider in the main pocket, so it's not the most convenient for day to day use. However, it is fantastic for travel or time where you need to carry more. Excellent construction. Straps and zipper pulls are a little longer than I would prefer, and seem to flop around a lot. I will most likely trim them to fit my preferred length.

I am happy with the pack overall. I love the color and ruggedness. I love all the pockets. It holds a lot. I do not like the side open on the very front of the pack. I open it and stuff falls out. I, also, do not understand the mesh inner pocket in the largerr part of the pack. Not sure what service it serves. Tends to get in the way.

I would LOVE this pack if it had some sort of external pocket that could hold a water bottle, or some sort of shove pocket. I like the minimalistic style, but there's no place for a water bottle or the inevitable misc items you need quick access to while traveling internationally. Almost perfect otherwise.

I love this backpack I use for business trip where I can pack a day of clothing and it has so many useful pockets. And I like it minimalist look. However it has NO side pocket for water bottle! That's one of the most important in a backpack! I am still waiting for a Timbuk2 backpack which o can pack clothes, laptop and with side pocket.

I really like the clamshell design and organization. It's Perfect for travel and the right size as an "personal" item. It's a bit bigger than the airline requirement for the personal item but they don't check personal items. They usually only check your carry-on. Anyways....the bad part is that it's not very comfortable to carry. The straps are very stiff and material on the strap rubs against the body. I also wish it had somehow incorporated a water bottle pouch. It's so essential when you are travelling. It has handles in all the sides which keeps it from adding a water bottle pouch...i can see the handles being useful on larger carry-on bags which would be heavy and helpful to lift onto the over head bin but this bag is light....no need for all those handles...

Not sure how I'm going to come down on this. It's roomy if not slightly boxy. Has plenty of pockets and dividers. Kind of like the mesh divider in main compartment. Biggest problem is the main zipper. You really have to haul on it. And it gets hung up easily. Particularly at the places across the top where a seam is sewn a little too close to the zipper. I'm giving it a few miles and zips before I return it. Maybe the zipper will "break in" a bit?

Let's start off with the good stuff: the Timbuk2 Jetpack is a modern understated bag with tons of space. If you pack carefully, you can live out of this bag for a week. It even replaced my beloved roller carry-on for quick business trips. It's that efficient and comfortable. The side handles also allow the Jetpack to carried in "briefcase mode", although you can't tuck in the straps. In addition to travel, I used this bag at 2-3 times per week for work/gym . That led to recognizing a design choice that's scary if you're not careful. Laptops enter the bag through on the left side, through a black concealed sleeve. If you grab n' go in "Briefcase Mode"... be careful! If the laptop sleeve isn't fully zipped your laptop will come crashing to the ground. Same goes if you're using "Backpack Mode" and lean over to the side. I used the bag for months with no issue, but it takes just one mistake (early in the morning, still dark, you're in a rush...). I grabbed my Jetpack, threw it over my shoulder, and the laptop came crashing out of the side pocket. Now my Macbook now has a chunk of aluminum missing. My fault for failing to zip up? Probably. But man, I wish that laptop sleeve stood out more, had a stopper, or was along the top. Even if there's a 1 in 10,000 chance of that happening again, it has me paranoid about that laptop pocket. Thus, this bag is reserved for Travel and looking into something more practical for Everyday Carry. Particularly carrying tech gear. There are better laptop sleeve/side pocket options out there.

I liked how this bag looked online, but once you receive it, using it is very difficult. The pockets really are not large enough to hold everything they picture. The laptop function is nice, but the padding is almost so bulky that when you go to place anything else inside the pack, it just doesn't sit well. This is mostly good for only a laptop and nothing else. I was going to try to use it for business, but it's not practical to carry my calendar, pens, water bottle, etc. because it just doesn't stretch like I need it to.

First off its a great bag, it'll take a load of gear very easily. Its not well made however. The bag came and the stitching was loose on one the the inside pockets. The one I use for my keys and change when passing through the airports. Only they just go straight through to the bottom of the bag, which is a downer. I've reported this to Timbuk2 in the EU, and just got silence. So I reported it to Timbuk2 in the US, and just got silence. I even took a video of the problems and sent it both branches of Timbuk2. Still got silence. I know they have received my messages, and I know they are hiding behind the couch and hoping I will go away. Great bag - poor quality, poor service.
