Shoes look and feel great. I bought some docs back in the 99, and they are still alive. I dont wear them that much anymore, but Ive never had a pair of shoes last as long. Bought these because I was tired of shoes lasting 1-2 years and decided to go back to docs. Unfortunately, the fabric inside behind the achilles wore out in a year. Otherwise, they are in great condition. I'll continue to wear them, but I would buy a model that has leather in that location from now on. I was looking into these 'leather' options when i decided to write this review. Something to think about as you compare docs for yourselves...

I'm usually between a 9.5 and 10. This was not in half sizes that I could find so I went with the 10 and it fits great. Very comfortable.

This is my third pair of this very model of shoe over the last 10 years. They are comfortable, stylish and well-crafted. It's a casual shoe that can get you by in dressy situations and is every bit as comfortable as your sneakers.

Very comfortable shoes. I wear them almost everywhere . The soles are very squeaky on a the type of flooring you often find in schools and government buildings. Just purchased a new pair.

VERY COMFORTABLE slip on. Looks a little funky as toe box is wide but thats exactly what I was looking for as my foot is a little wider than average but not an "E" or typical "wide". So wanted a casual slip on that was very comfortable and this was it. Tried on several others that missed the mark before finding this one. My persistence paid off. Hope it holds up but looks like it will as construction is top notch. Only oddity with this shoe (and may be true for all Doc Martens) is the lack of production in 1/2 sizes. I typically wear 9 1/2. The size 9 I first tried never stretched out enough to be comfortable...the size 10 was the correct size. Maybe a little roomier than a 9 1/2 but would rather have that than one a half size too small. So my takeaway is that a size 10 is maybe closer to 9 1/2 and size 9 probably closer to 8 1/2.

I have wide feet so I went up a 1/2 size and they fit like they were custom made for my feet. They are so comfortable that they feel like slippers.

I love this shoes. They are very sturdy but don't feel rough on your feet. I believe these shoes will wear well for many years. They did run a little big for me.

A bit snug at first, but seems to be adjusting to my foot. Quality is fine, and time will tell about wear durability.

I typically wear a 10-1/2 but Doc Martins only offers full sizes. I tried the 10, too small, and the 11, too big. Still, I really liked the look and it would have been comfortable if it had fit.

????????. I wore them for a week now I have such bad foot pain I can barely walk.

Terrible. I bought the same shoe a few years ago. Completely disappointed. Shoe is a cheap piece of crap. Quality is embarrassing.

Excellent quality and comfort! Wish they had not discontinued making this shoe and would have loved to get them in black as well.

Second pair of this same shoe. First pair purchased many years ago at GB shoes on the discount rack. I like the smooth toe unlike a mock. I like the non aggressive tread as it does not pick up dirt and gravel that gets tracked in the house and scratches floor. Originals wore well but souls cracked and it was like a sucking chest wound if you walked in water. Socks ended up wet. Looked at getting them resouled but all they do is glue on a new one and it looks like poop.

These are my first pair of Doc Martens. The are very comfortable and fit great right out of the box. Zappo's customer service was great as usual!

My husband loves these shoes!!.. put them on and they were instantly comfortable! Very good quality, seem very cushy...one problem he had with his old ones after much wear...the souls would crack (just too old I think) so hopefully these hold up as well! I don’t know how Zappos does it but I got them overnight and they saved my butt for his birthday present!!

I tried wearing other shoes of similar style but they don't hold a candle to the comfort these shoes provide. I had to come back and buy another pair. My first pair lasted about 2 years so the value is pretty decent.

Second time ordering these! Perfect!

Shoes are comfortable just lacking more arch support.

A bit big, weird texture that doesn't really show in the picture but worst of all is that is has a super wide toe area which makes my already large feet like like clown shows.

I wish these shoes came in half sizes. No fault of Zappos. My right foot is just slightly larger than my left. So the left shoe feels perfect. The right is just a touch tight. I like the shoes enough that I'm betting on the right shoe stretching just enough to fit right. There's ample sole cushion so it does take a bit of space away and will likely get tamped down over time. The shoes are well-made, as you would expect from a work book company. The leather grain does vary quite a bit. For some reason it was smooth on the UK 10 size, but quite bumpy (like buffalo grain) on the UK 11 size (yep, had to try them both). For me the difference was pretty big. Fortunately the UK 10s were the closer fit.

I purchased the Dr. Marten's Boyle Slip on as a replacement for the Orson, which I had previously purchased every year without fail in "Dark Brown Overdrive." As Zappos was either out of stock of the Orson or just did not carry it, I decided to try these. Mistake. The "Dark Brown" color of the Boyle is more like tanned leather as in a baseball glove. That is to say, more like medium or light brown. Not a good color. Return.
