Great looking show but almost no arch support nor removable insole so that you can replace with your own orthotic.

Like others have said, they are comfortable, look great, but the stitching in the toe box comes loose. I wear them for date nights and Ive had 2 pairs do this now (one on each foot). Disappointing because Ive had great success with Born in the past.

I like Born shoes and this was my 5th pair of them. This pair did not hold up to moderate use after 6 months it split in the sole on both feet because of the design of the sole. I also don't do a lot of walking, just office use. The sole is moderate-density rubber, not hard rubber. They are comfortable though, as most Born shoes are.

Light and comfortable however stitching came undone shortly after wearing. I have worn Born brand shoes for years and these didn't seem to have same durability as other styles.

In most shoes I wear a US size 12. I could barely get my foot in the shoe. This shoe was not the quality I remember Born shoes being in past purchases of their product.

I loved this pair of shoes and wore them occasionally. Disappointed to see that the sole is cracking through the arch. The rest of the sole still has plenty of life. What is this material?

I really, really liked these shoes, but after wearing them for slightly less than a year (perhaps on average 1-2 times week to work), the soles on both feet are torn. See pics. Very disappointing!

Just like all of the other 1-star reviews, my Born Joels developed a crack in the sole after light use. Water wicks up through the growing crack and soaks the interior of the shoe. I also had an issue with the toe box stitching coming loose.

i received the shoes and my initial impression was they fit well and were extremely comfortable. However, after on wearing them five times the stitching around the upper started coming undone. I contacted Born directly, since I assumed this was a quality control issue and at no fault of Zappos, but Born did was not interested in helping since I did not buy direct from them and suggested I “contact the manufacturer”. As ridiculous as that response was, I found a different customer support form, filled it out, and a week later have not been contacted for a resolution. TL;DR this is an inferior product and the manufacturer does not have any interest in addressing the issues.

These shoes look incredible, but they are horrible. They ripped up my heels the first day VERY badly. I put insoles inside and bandages on my heels and that helped to break them in and eventually my heels recovered; I put up with them because I liked them so much. The sole feels thin, which was nice at first because you feel like you're wearing slippers, but after wearing them 4 days per week for only 6 months (I didn't wear them in the summer), the sole cracked and wore through. There's no way to repair the sole, and at $110 I shouldn't have to repair the sole on shoes worn for only 6 months.

I have bought Born shoes for years. I cannot recommend the Born Joel. Poor quality, poor support (the laces have just two eyelets), too wide, etc. Evidence of chromate tanning not present in past shoes purchased from Born. This causes intolerable itching with some wearers.

Love the look and feel of these Born's but, just like another reviewer, the stitching at the toe came loose after just three days of wear. Very unfortunate since I've had great luck with Born's over the years and I love their shoes. Thank you to Zappos for their great customer service!
