I recently started bartending for a high volume bar. The shifts are long, the floor is hard, & there are liquids constantly spilling. I quickly found that my current work shoes were not up to par. So I started searching around. Unhappy with my options I decided to look outside of the box. I needed a shoe that was 1)waterproof 2) slip resistance 3)comfortable 4)lightweight, and bonus points for anything that had a bit of style to it. All of a sudden, BOOM! I'm on the Northface Site checking out all these awesome footwear options. I find a few different styles that meet all of my requirements, & finally decided on a pair. It's been a few weeks of wearing them everyday & I could not be more happy! I even wear them outside of work because they're so comfortable. I know service industry footwear wasn't your intended application of design, but these are the greatest pair of shoes I've found in 10+ years of bartending! Thank you for designing such a quality product.

Basically North Face took an all around training shoe and put a half top on it, making it perfect for hiking everyday trails and wet conditions. Only thing it isn't good for is cold weather, snow type conditions. But it isn't meant for that.

I've put around 200 miles of hiking/backpacking on these as well as using them for yard work, and have had great overall experience. I usually wear size 9 in street shoes, but the 8.5 was a perfect fit and they protect my toes well. The pros are that they're lightweight and breathable, but also have enough support for backpacking. Very good traction. They are some of the best looking hiking boots out there, and I've gotten positive comments about the looks. There's only one thing that I'm disappointed in, and is the reason why I can't give them 5/5. They just aren't waterproof and the fact that they have GoreTex somewhere on/in the boot is misleading. Any time I step in puddles or cross small streams, my socks get soaked pretty easily. This isn't a huge issue for me, but if you absolutely need dry feet in all conditions, these boots are not totally weatherproof. I would recommend them for year-round use if you have warm socks for winter and can deal with the occasional need to dry them out. Lots of great memories, few blisters in the beginning. I probably won't buy them again if/when they wear out since I'm thinking about switching to trail runners, but that could be a while from now.

Bought these at Cabelas, for a hike to Machu Picchu. Recently wore them on a 6-day hike in the Sierra Nevadas (King's Canyon, Rae Lakes Loop). No issues, they performed great.

Good shoes for winter. The only problem is the comfort. Not enough cushioning. My old northface is more comfortable.

I use these boots a ton. I wear them casually, for outdoor activities like camping and hiking, and sometimes to work. They are comfortable and practical. The water proof works well and makes them very easy to clean. After a long hike the other day I came home and washed them in the sink. After a quick rinse under water they looked almost brand new. I did get water inside the boot which took a while to dry. That was a downside but what shoe wouldn't take time to dry. Although they have some water proof capabilities they are still breathable which is important. Overall I am very happy with the product.

I am working on breaking these in. I had hiking shoes previously so I need to get used to the extra support above my ankles. I ordered a half size bigger but maybe a full size bigger would make my big toes more comfortable. Please not that I normally wear a woman's size 11 shoe and size 12 runners. The North Face does not have hiking boots for women in size 12 so I ordered these in men's size 10.5. These are lightweight and stylish so I am excited to put these to the test outside.

They are comfortable and lightweight. I like the style but that is not why I bought them. I bought them for their weight and for the goretex membrane. They run big. I typically wear a ten so that's what I ordered but they were too large. I had to pay a 7 dollar return shipping fee and could not just exchange them for a smaller size, I had to reorder them.

Pro: Shoe is very light and ventilated. great summer shoe. comfortable Cons: 1- water resistance is poor. it's enough for walking through wet grass but when I stepped in a small puddle both shoes got wet inside. Water didn't enter from top. My sock was wet in the bottom part and dry on top. 1st real rain and I had to go buy me another pair of shoes since these got all wet 2- they are a bit lower then what I've expected.

Took these brand new boots on a five day Salkantay/Machu Picchu Trek in Peru and my Achilles tendons were in so much pain I couldn't wait to get them off at the end of each day. Don't get me wrong, the quality and craftsmanship of these boots is outstanding, but wearing them is a complete nightmare. Should have bought the tennis shoe version but now I'm stuck with these.

Poor SupportGreat Support
Boots look great. Very lightweight. Good ankle support. But there is two things that are very annoying and makes them unwearable. The shoe strings are very long and keep getting untied no matter what. On the left boot there is something in the toe box that rubs on my big toe to the point it gets painful. I wish I wore them earlier, because now, over a year later, it is too late to return.

Really disappointed with durability. Had twin pair. First one the bottom tread tore the second time I wore them the current pair last one long backpacking trip. They are a light weight trail shoe. They did perform well as a trail running shoe.

The shoes look great, are very comfortable and fit very well. Nevertheless, if a bit of water splash over them you will find yourself hiking with wet feet which you would not expect from a waterproof shoe.

Nicely designed, but that's all. Even with the right size, when you start using it your feet fell squeezed. At the end of the day you will fell if you walked the Sahara desert for the whole day. Extremely tired, with ancle red inflamed. I like NF, but this product is wrong. I used it twice: 6 days first tie and only half day for the second. No more.

but after the fist time using them in the rain I sent them back. North Face boots have been great in the past but this version is one to avoid. Bad colors, bad waterproofing
