I adore Chaco Z1 sandals. I live in them as much as I can around the house and out in the world on evenings and weekends. (I am the "outdoorsy" type.) I was hoping these solid color muted clay sandals would be subtle/passable for work, but alas they still look to sporty with even semi casual professional clothing. I guess I'll have to stick with less comfortable sandals for work.

This sandal was too narrow and very uncomfortable. I do not typically wear a wide shoe, but exchanged for a wide. Unfortunately they didn't have the black in wide and I had to get a different design....but Zappos customer service was amazing in making this exchange very simple. I love my wide chacos!

Aloha, I love chaco’s own a few pairs. Wanted a pair that were a little bit more dressy. I love the muted clay color. They only came in the classic, I’m a little spoiled when it comes to the cloud, foot bed, The classic are much harder, feel. The perfect fit for me is a men’s 7 because they are a little wider than women’s so I got the women’s 9, that is much narrower. Absolutely love the the sandals.

Fit feels good. Very sturdy shoe with rigid arch support. Only complaint is after a while, foot get irritated from textured sole. These might need some extended wearing in before I can wear for long periods.

Love the look of these sandals but they were huge! Order a size down.

Love the all-over color, but the recommended size (9) made my feet look fat. I'm usually a 9.5, so giving the 10's a try!

The sandals felt clunky to me.

I loved everything about this sandal. It had great support, was comfortable and very cute. I decided to return them only because I wanted something lighter in weight for packing in my suitcase for Europe.

The footbed and arch support is great. I LOVE the colors of this (I ordered mint prism) and really wanted to love them enough to keep them. However, they are so heavy. I'm returning them and may try Tevas. Great quality though. I run around after my 4 small kids all day and I just imagine doing that with lead on my feet:(

These fit great and are very comfortable for walking or some light hiking, but they were heavier than expected. I plan to use them in rivers and lakes a lot and any amount of swimming would be cumbersome I think. While I love the style, I'm returning them for some lighter weight Tevas.

I love wearing these hiking. You don’t feel any branches or rocks through the soles. That said, they are heavy for sandals. I mainly mark down a star for the sizes though. I really wish they had half sizes.

After TEVA changed the design of their Original Sandal such that their ankle straps are too short, I decided to try Chacos. TEVA's weigh 5 ounces, and Chacos weigh 1 lb. I couldn't live with the heavy chunky feeling with a thick sole for a summer sandal, and will have to try something else. I also don't need that much arch support.

These shoes are a little heavy and take some time to get used to. I have plantar fasciitis and found these to be comfortable enough to let me walk miles and miles around DC. They are ugly as heck and pricey but so worth it.

For me, they were too heavy and this might have contributed to why the straps rubbed uncomfortably.

I love Chacos because they provide excellent support for my feet. Straps are very secure and comfortable--nice to wear sandals that don't feel like they are falling off! They are super cute with skirts, shorts or pants. Great for travel because you can walk on rough terrain or on urban streets with full comfort. Lots of color choices. I usually wear a 5.5 but the 5 in Chacos fits better. If you have a super wide foot, they do offer many styles and colors in a wide width. I had a question about the width and called the Zappos customer service number. I actually got to talk to a human being who was extremely helpful to the point of measuring the footbed of the shoe so that I could compare widths! Zappos also promised to ship in one day and was true to their word. I was traveling and wanted a new pair of Chacos but didn't get them ordered in time to arrive at home before I left. So I had them shipped to my hotel. They arrived at my hotel the next day before I did! Zappos is great!

This sandal unfortunately, is just not made for my feet. Each of my feet are different. I have relatively no arch in one, due to an injury, and the other is semi-normal. The foot with a fallen arch, would not have worked with this sandal; my foot 'spilled ' over the edge, because of the sandal's narrow foot bed in the arch or mid-foot, area. From experience, I know it would have been uncomfortable for walking long distances. I think the forefoot area of the sandal is abnormally wide, which made it feel a little clumsy. I have a narrow heel, and sandal was fine in that area. It's a well constructed, sturdy and nice looking, utilitarian sandal. A good sandal for someone with normal or high arches. The hunt continues for a good walking sandal. I'm giving it 4 stars, because it's not the sandal entirely, it's my feet.

Super cute. I am having to return these because they run large and I will have to size down. Shoe is extremely well made with thick sole and should make an excellent hiking sandal.

I love this shoes. They are very comfortable and the straps move to make sure that all types of feet fit. The only problem was that they don't come in half sizes so I actually had to go up a size. These shoes are really good for hiking and just wearing in the summer.

The tricky part is getting the strap adjusted. Once you get that right the sandal is easy on and off. Good arch support.It is surprisingly heavy but comfortable.

Great underfoot support! I had plantar fasciitis and wanted a sandal that would not leave my feet aching at the end of the day (like my Tevas did). This works great and requires no extra orthotic. Only drawback is that my outer toes on both feet are developing blisters from walking my dog off-leash an hour every day in a local field. The grass is very wet, so the shoes stay wet the entire time, which somehow causes the webbing across my toes to cut into my skin there. Maybe should have ordered a 1/2 size up for extra width? When I wear them in dry situations, my toes are fine, but wet - I'm covered with band-aids! Hope this helps.

The straps don't fit my feet right so I won't be able to walk distance in them.

I ordered a 1/2 size up.. It's too large.

These shoes have great arch support but for those with a wider toe box they are too narrow in the front. The strap cuts into the foot making it feel cramped. Sadly these are going back.

These shoes are really cute and I wanted to love them. They were too large for my foot and just not comfy. I’ve had chacos in the past. But just think this brand does not work for my feet.

Too clunky for my taste!
