In this case I am reviewing Zappos service, not the shoe itself. I have been a Zappos VIP for years because of the ease in ordering and returning. But lately service has slipped. I had ordered 4 pairs of these Propet TravelActiv sneakers - 2 in Navy in 2 different sizes, and 2 in White in 2 different sizes. When I opened a box containing one of the pairs of white shoes, it was obvious they were a returned pair - the tissue was all wrinkled and there was no “filler” in the shoes (tissue, cardboard shoe form, etc). Then I noticed the shoes were kind of dirty and looked like someone did a lazy attempt at cleaning before returning them after wearing them outside. But then I looked inside the shoes, and the inserts, which are supposed to be white, were filthy and black - clearly worn, and by someone who was barefoot and had dirty feet!! How does Zappos not even check the shoes when they are returned anymore?!?! Also, in 2 recent cases I was sent the wrong shoes - completely not what I ordered, and that’s where the ease in return/exchange breaks down. I was told the only way to send back something that I did not order and get what I did order was to return the item for an e-gift card and then order what I wanted. No. That obligates me to make a purchase, because if I ordered (again) what I had originally ordered and paid for them with that e-gift card, and then returned them if they didn’t fit, I would get my refund back as an e-gift card, not back on my credit card. So essentially I would have ended up being forced to PURCHASE an e-gift card.
