The jacket is lightweight and packable. I like that it has the vent zippers in the armpits, as raincoats can get pretty hot if there's a lack of ventilation. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that, as some others have said, the jacket runs large. I normally take a large. I'm 5'10" and 188 lbs and with a dress shirt I fit sleeve size 34/35. The sleeves on this jacket were a bit long on me and the body a little too roomy, but not unusable.

I initially purchased another Columbia jacket with a similar name (" EvaPOURation" jacket as opposed to this jacket ("Pouration" Jacket). I returned the EvaPOURation jacket because it did not breath at all. The rubbery lining of the EvaPOURation jacket felt like I was wearing a sweaty, very sticky plastic bag.
However, unlike that jacket, this jacket ( "Pouration" Jacket) has a inner web liner that separates your bare skin from the plastic liner of the jacket. Consequently, your skin is able to breath. Makes a world of difference!
Other features I like about this jacket are: 1) Folds into it's own pocket in the form of a pouch - easy to pack 2) all pockets are zippered 3) the hood is stored in the collar and 4) there is a light lining to the jacket so it is more insulated than a windbreaker but is still not bulky and 5) there are zippered armpit ventilation, if needed.
I would love to have given this a 5 star rating but I found the sizing was not that accurate (runs a bit large) and I found the coloration of the jacket on the website was also not quite accurate. I purchased the "dark mountain" color which, on the website, appears a darker navy blue. The true color of this jacket is more like a blue/dark green. I wish I could have only subtracted a 1/2 star on the rating (but the system does not allow this). Despite all this, It is still a great jacket and would definitely recommending purchasing.

Perfect for cooler weather errand running when rain's in the forecast as well as hiking, and bike rides. The primary selling point for me was the underarm vents which is now a requirement for every coat that I buy as they really come in handy to help keep you cooler when your out and about. The only negative? The hand pockets, while perfectly sized for whatever you may need to bring along, are a mesh enclosure which can be a bit of a nightmare for keys, glove clips, glasses or anything else that can get caught, or potential work it's way through leaving you with a hole (a pen for example). What's interesting is that the Chest pocket is cloth, which is what I would have expected throughout (actually would have liked a material with more integrity for ALL of the pockets).

I bought this to replace a nearly identical Columbia jacket I bought in 2006! (It was still intact as a windbreaker, but had no more use in the rain). Works well in the rain and wind, a good fit with and without layering, but one thing changed I absolutely don't like: the hook and loop (Velcro) fasteners that go over the center zipper. I'm a 6'1" woman with long hair. I buy men's jackets because the long sleeves on your women's jackets aren't long enough on me. The hook side catches in my hair and doesn't let go on the top two fasteners; my old jacket had snaps. This seems like a small detail, but it's really annoying. Otherwise, this new jacket just made it through two months in Peru, and I hope I can get 15+ years out of this new one, too!

I love the jacket perfect light weight shell . The only thing I wish it had is snaps on it instead of Velcro to hold it closed in front . The Velcro doesn't hold very well . I had and older version of this jacket and I used it for work for years and it had the snaps and if you're outside working it's nice to be able to open the underarms and just do one or two snaps in front . It lets you stay dry and still get some ventilation.

I like a roomy fit so I ordered this in XXL rather than XL. It's quite big, which doesn't bother me in the body but the sleeves are way too long. When golfing the cuffs slide down over my hands and interfere with my grip unless I tighten the velcro pretty snug, which make heat build up inside the jacket. The pit zips don't do enough to ventilate the jacket. Chest or back yolk venting is needed. It does keep me dry though, other than the sweat. (What I'd really like is a jacket model that converts to short sleeves. Columbia, are you listening?)

Have yet to wear in the rain but overall a decent fitting jacket (size medium, I'm 5'10" and 155, 38-inch around the chest). It's light but not lightweight by hiking/backpacking standards. Quality and construction on par with other Columbia jackets. My only complaint so far is the way the hood stowes (makes collar excessively bulky and cumbersome; I prefer a rain hat in most situations and keep the hood stowed to prevent it from collecting water).

Great value. Excellent quality. I would have liked to see an inside pocket. Otherwise I'm very pleased with this purchase.

This jacket is fabulous for when you have a lot of rain and it's not too cold and you don't want all the bulk. It packs up nicely and dries quickly. Fits true to size and and doesn't have too much of that crinkle rain jacket sound. It does get humid in the jacket at times otherwise it would be 5 stars all around. The armpit zippers help with the heat but it's not a perfect solution. I'm a mail carrier and the colors are perfect and it does a fantastic job keeping me dry. The hood and neck zip up are roomy without strangling you. I can tuck my big beard in nicely.

Great fit, style, comfort. Not sure about performance yet because I haven't been out in a real rain. Wish I had this jacket last month in Seward, AK. Hiked in a steady downpour and my old rain jacket did not perform well.

I believe this jacket would have all the bells & whistles if they would add a two way zipper, larger zipper pull, more conforming hood and an inside storage pocket.

Packable rain jacket with 5 pockets and hood. You won't sweat bullet wearing it in summer but it does come with under arm vents. Wish I could wear it at work instead of the issued uniform rain jacket.

I love the design and color combination of this rain jacket. It's not bulky, but it does run slightly large. I am 5'7", about 165 pounds, with an arm length of about 32" and bought a small which fits very well and leaves just a little room for times when I wear a sweatshirt. My only complaint is that there are not enough ventilation ports on the jacket as I get hot and sweaty when I wear it if the temperature is mild. I usually get hot and sweaty anyway whenever I wear outer layers because I naturally produce a lot of body heat, so I think it would be very difficult for me to avoid this problem with ANY type of rain jacket, but at least this jacket does have two underarm vents to dissipate some of the body heat. So overall a great jacket and highly recommended.

I love the "Stinger" yellow. I wanted a bright yellow jacket for poor visibility conditions and nighttime use. (Why do people year dark jackets at night? In the city? Get a clue people.) My only negative is the velcro closures on the zipper flap. They keep sealing even when I don't want them to seal. (I removed them.) The snaps on the Dr. Downpour are friendlier, but that jacket is only available in dark colors. The perfect rain jacket would be the Dr. Downpour in "Stinger" yellow. (Columbia, are you listening/)

Had just ordered the "Evaporation" for my girlfriend for a trip to the Oregon Coast. My closet was a little bare so ordered this for myself. Even with a couple layers on the medium is a loose fit. I am 5'8" and 175 athletic build. The yellow is a very beautiful color. Won't get lost wearing this. Haven't tried it in the rain yet, so I only gave it a four. Will update after the trip.

I am so confused about your sizing. The medium in tight in places the large is like a tent. There doesn't seem to be a gradual transition from the medium to large size. The large seems like a extra large. I'm forced to make a compromise, either wear it tight in places or large everywhere....

I really wanted this to work. Price was right, clearly said waterproof. I put this in and said "it's a mid drift?" It also has an extremely big and puffy collar. I decided I'd rather be wet than wear this uncomfortable, short jacket

The collar is massive - too tall and too wide. I ended up returning it to get a rain jacket with a standard hood. Other than that it's great.
