This was an interesting experience, tried and returned 3 sizes before finding the correct fit. These are very sturdy, well made shin guards with a removable ankle support. Unlike the Franklin ones we used, these are flared out, bendable, but not that snug sides fit. The underside isn't as soft either, which could be a plus. As for sizing, these run extremely small. We ended up choosing an Audult Small for our 60lbs 8yr old. The Youth sizes would better serve a 5 or 6 year old, or an 8year old that's short stature and very thin. Overall very impressed with the quality and make of these shin guards, highly recommended, and would purchase again. Debbie.

These were great basic shinguards for a rapidly growing teenager.
