Update to my last review: Sperry got back to me very promptly on my question re: materials used in the textile part. To quote: For the Koifish Boat Shoes, the upper mesh is polyester and nylon and the lining is a blend of cotton and polyester. The insole is lined with pigskin leather. Great shoes!

I have a high arch and these shoes fit well and feel supportive. Look very nice too. I think it should be more prominently noted, though, that the upper does feature fabric along with leather, and I wish Sperry would specify the materials used. Great shoes overall.

Been wearing Sperry's since high school days! Was looking to replace a well-worn pair and eagerly jumped on the Koifish Core. I read the reviews and didn't give much thought to the few who said the shoe was too narrow. I have average to narrow feet and to my surprise, these shoes were tight, short, and unwearable. I'm a consistent size 8 in Sperry; these were actually too short, too! And so the hunt continues for a replacement. Gotta love Zappos easy returns. P.S. The shoes I received were obviously a prior return as the previous buyer left the Amazon Prime Wardrobe order label in the box. They had ordered both size 8 and 8.5. Guess they thought the 8's were too small as well!

The Sperry Koifish Core shoes are a traditionally-styled boat shoe made of high quality leather. I like the 2-hole lace-up closure with the adjustable ties as I could tie them for a comfortable fit across my instep. (I returned a pair of Sperry Songfish boat shoes as they have barrel knots at the end of the laces - I found them more difficult to put on and I couldn't adjust the fit across my instep). I normally wear a 6 1/2 M, but sized up to a 7 M in this shoe - fits perfectly!

Sperry shoes always fit just right. Every shoe & every time. And then they feel even better the more they are worn!
