I've gone thru 2 pair and want more but am disappointed with the color selection. I still have my bright lime green pair and I continue to get great comments. I wear them for biking, gym workouts, light hiking and grocery shopping!
Arc'teryx, please bring back fresh colors!

Bring back the shark/bora bora Arc'Teryx!
From working on installation sites and as hiker, I wear these most of the time. After 3 years, I wore straight through the first pair (holes in fabric, worn out sole). While disappointed by the new colors - alas, Arc'teryx at least still makes these - so I bought another pair. I still go back to the old worn out pair as well.
I have owned the releasable hook + the version that can not detach, and I prefer the releasable hook. The non detachable is just not as quick to get on and off for someone that wears these 95% of the time. The non detachable doesn't hold the sizing tightness needed, so one must adjust at ever wear. I did not have an issue with the releasable hook, until almost 3 years into wearing the shoe, at which point it would release from time to time.

NOTE: I accidently submitted this as a comment earlier, my apologies, hope you moderate this and delete both the comment and this sentence!
If you haven't worn these your feet are missing out! My first pair are getting a bit worn out in the soles from almost constant 3-season use for 4+ years. I bought them for light summer duties and I've found them great in sooo many different situations in spring/summer/fall (not good in snow). They flex enough for light hike/scrambling with good feel. Grippy, tactile, nice looking to boot! :o) They've ended up being my go-to everyday footwear. I actually bought a second pair for the office, paired with jeans or pants and a collared shirt they are low key cool and comfy. They absolutely shine as travel shoes, getting there and back, be it via canoe or business class.
One thing I have on my wishlist: offer it in GTX version! Oh, and please change the buckle back to the original that you could unhook to offer the widest possible entry opening. That might help people with high arches btw.
The collapsable heel comes in handy if you just want to slip them on. Recovering from an injury made me realize how great they are if you can't bend or tie laces. Hey, another possible market for these are seniors (or anyone) with mobility issues. Easy to step into and wear as slippers, use the web strap for a tighter grip. I'll stop now and just say you should try these, if you don't like them it's probably your fault, not the Arakys!!! :o)

I've been using the Arakys on the muddy and steep trails of North Shore, the alpine on the North Cascades, and for crag days in Squamish. It's may all around shoes in the summer when I want to go light. The Vibram soles is sticky on dry and wet rock, and the shoes still look like new after solid foot jams on granite. I would buy it again.

It is rare to find a pair of shoes that never disappoint--even after years of serious wear. I just brought these shoes inside from yet another washdown and I can't wait to wear them next. I'm not a climber, but I wear these shoes to do just about anything--from going to the store to taking a hike. Amazing!

I absolutely love how light weight these shoes are! I find them a bit tight getting into but I do have wide feet. Unlike most of the approach shoes I have owned I do not find these to get to hot, and I love never having to deal with laces. I also wear them hiking and do not have any issues with the support they provide. It also helps they look super cute.

I wear this shoe everywhere. It's perfect for the gym as I can put them on to belay and do easy warm up climbs in them. I love wearing them outside super easy to put on and take off as well as durable enough to hike in.
The only down side is I have worn them so much and often barefoot that they smell and have gotten worn out in a few places.

I went through 50 miles of various hard hikes, from 14000 feet rocky peaks to sand-desert trails, with the shoes. So far so good, they've performed outstandingly. Really good grip, very comfortable once I broke them, soo light. And they look good enough to be used around town. A very expensive pair of shoes, but well worth it! I was nervous about the lacing system, as a lot of reviews point to issue there, but the new closed latch seems to have taken feedback into account and fixed it. It does the job.

I love these shoes, they look great, have the best grip, and no laces to tie. I'm not a big climber and mostly use them for running around town and to my casual work. I also take them hiking when there'll be some scrambling - though your feet start to ache after about 3 miles as there's really no support.
Six months ago I bought the type without the buckle in a 9.5 and they fit perfectly. I loved them so much I just bought the blue color which came in the 'with-buckle' style and the 9.5 now feels half a size too big. I kept tripping over my toes and couldn't understand why. I have no idea why the sizing would change.
I did use them in the water after I wore them sea kayaking and got completely soaked. The shoes were fine, but the insoles (which just pull out) took a long time to dry and are left a bit stiff.

Really great shoes. I have the green ones and I've used them so much. I've hiked, camped and mountain bikes in them. I can go on light walks like walking the dogs in them without socks but otherwise I'll wear socks to prevent blisters. So handy to slip into them with the heel down. They are always my go to activity shoe!

These are my favorite crag shoes!
They are breathable, lightweight, comfortable, and quick drying. I love that they have the vibram soles, which makes them good little shoes for some lighter hikes. The slip on component has to be my favorite though. It's so nice to be able to take off climbing shoes and slip these on without even having to bend over. 10/10, would buy again!

I own three pairs of this shoe. I am not a climber. I wear them every day. Comfortable walking during two trips to Europe. Good for cobblestones. Good for exercise class. Fold down heel a bonus for quick on/off. When I badly broke my wrist, the no-tie lacing system was a lifesaver.

I love, love, love these shoes. I bought them for a hiking trip that I planned last minute and I didn't have time to break in the shoes or my feet. But this wasn't an issue. The shoes are very well designed - no hotspots - but still hugs the foot.
I didn't think that I'd be into the collapsing heel, but I actually love that feature (especially when flying).
I read some other reviews about the laces slipping, but I haven't have any issues with this - even when doing strenuous hiking. Not sure if there was a design change to the shoe - or if it's because I have high arches, which means there's not much tightening for my shoes in the first place. I really like the lace mechanism (even if it's a bit ugly) as it's clean and hassle free.
They are super easy to clean (and quick to dry).
I totally recommend these shoes.

I love, love, love this approach shoe. From the first moment I put them on, I forgot I was wearing a shoe. It flexes and grips well when scrabbling, I have used it for light bouldering, and even hiking on some longer approaches.
I love the closure, it is easy to slip on and off when changing out of my climbing shoes.I've had these shoes a little over a year and they are still in great climbing condition.
For me the shoe runs a little large, I'm normally a size 6.5, but I ended up getting a size 6, because it felt loose.
My only complaint is the light grey color is now permanently rusty orange from the red clay dirt in the southwest. I have followed the cleaning advice, but the breathable mesh areas still look dirty. Next time I would go with a darker color.
