These are SUPER cute shoes but the strap around the ankle was entirely too loose with no way to adjust. I had to return! :(

I had been looking at these since summer, so as soon as they went on sale, I pounced! They are beautiful, high quality sandal. The fit is pretty true to size; if you're consistently between sizes, you may want to opt for the smaller of the two. Other reviewers complained that the ankle band was too loose, but I found it to be just right for my average ankles. The heel is just the right height to provide some lift and elongate the leg, but still comfortable for all-day wear. The whiskey color is super versatile (as I imagine the charcoal color would be as well). An excellent purchase!

Very attractive sandal, was a little tight on my larger ankle but perfect for my daughter, who has average ankles so she lucked out. Very well made, heel is a versatile height- cannot attest to break in period as it is winter now and they will not be worn for several months. Color is very neutral and will work for dress to casual.

I absolutely love these shoes! So stylish and comfortable. Makes your foot look thin which is a bonus! I loved this pair so much I ordered another pair in the whiskey color!

Love these! I just got them in the mail, and tried them on with a whole bunch of outfits...they go with absolutely everything in my closet! They look great with dresses and skirts, and are tough enough to look good with jeans too (not silly like stilettos do). These will be my go-to for vacations, so I only have to pack one pair of dress shoes. Super sturdy feeling and well made. I can carry the toddler in these! And they look like they will last forever like Frye boots. And the soles can be repaired like boots. I have two pairs of free boots- a western type in 7.5, and an English type in 7. I typically wear a 7.5, and these fit perfect in a 7. A tiny bit snug on the toes, but I think the leather will loosen over time to be just right. The ankle strap fits me just right. The 'whiskey' color is a bit darker than I expected, but much like it looks in the picture. I wish they made these in a nude color too.

These are beautiful shoes. The heel is tall enough to give you a boost but not so tall that it is hard to walk or your ankles hurt. I am normally a size 9 (in Frye shoes, in particular). I originally ordered a size 9. I had to size down to an 8.5 in these shoes because there was so much extra toe room in the 9. Fortunately sizing down meant that I got a less loose ankle strap!

This is a beautifully made pair of shoes. I am a Frye fan. I love leather soles, even if they are slippery at first, that wears off after the first couple of wearings on the pavement. Leather soles spin beautifully on the dance floor. I am still debating whether to keep these because the heel is just a touch higher than I am used to wearing...but they look so great on, with a little edginess but not too much, and are very comfortable otherwise.

I love these shoes, but I'm pretty bummed out that they run a half size too big. I normally wear a size 7.5, so that's what I ordered. I need to return them for a size 7. Everything else fits fine as far as the ankle and toe strap go.

I absolutely adore these sandals! They're stylish, very comfortable and well made/high quality. I'm quite tall and had to order a size 11 (my usual shoe size) and I've always considered myself to have big ankles, but I found these sandals to be very flattering. I usually steer clear of shoes that wrap around the ankle in some way, but I found that these have a slimming effect. I also walk extensively - I use public transportation and work on a university campus - and was able to wear these shoes without an issue and without blisters! I'm extremely happy with my purchase and would buy these again...I'm considering purchasing them in another color now.

Great pair of sandals, exactly what I was looking for this summer. Runs pretty true-ish to size, I wear 6 or 6.5 and bought the 6, and they fit great. The bank around the ankle is comfortable too, some others I tried rubbed my skin the wrong way.

These shoes are super comfortable and classically stylish. The first time I wore them I received a ton of compliments. Extremely well made and okay for lots of walking. The ankle strap is loose but you just have to get used to it- better than something tighter that would blister. So glad I splurged.

Love this shoe. Great padding but unfortunately the shoe is a little too high for me. Need to stand in the shoe for 8 hours but only made it to 5 hours. I need a 2" or at the most 2 1/2" heel. Had to return but a beautiful shoe. Would still recommend if you can wear a 2 3/4 heel.

These sandals are beautiful, and I really wanted to keep them, but the toe strap hits my foot in the wrong spot (too far forward), so back they must go.

I received these today after first ordering the calf skin color. I am so in love. Size 8½ fit perfectly. In full sizes I am a size 9. They are beautiful and have an artisan feel and look to them. They wear comfortably and the color is true to the picture. I am so happy with this purchase. I wish I could afford to have two pairs. Also the heel is the perfect height.

New summer sandal: an expected and classic well designed Frye. I am a long, fast walker and appreciate the moderately low heel height and cushioned sole for comfort. Originally purchased both 7 and 7 1/2 in whiskey, returned both and ordered a 7 in the charcoal, thinking I will get more use from this color. (I am a true 7, but I usually order two sizes to check fit.) The ankle strap is neither too loose not too tight, with enough give as you move. I love this company for free and fast ship/returns with great communication on order stance and refunds. Many thanks!

I am always, always, always a size 8. These are too big. Sending back for a 7.5

Cute sandals yet, the ankle strap is bulky and unattractive.

I usually wear either an 8 or 8.5, and 8 was the better choice. The ankle strap has to be slightly loose to allow ankle movement when you take a step. I have skinny legs / calves and it did not look unusual; if it had been any tighter the natural movement of my ankle would have caused an abrasion. I have not worn these for more than a couple of hours, but they are very comfortable. I wish they had a bit more cushion, then they'd be perfect.

These shoes look far better in person. Plush leather soles and upper. Gorgeously made heels and the smooth zipper. Comfortable and stylish at the same time, a winning combination in my book! Ankle straps are a bit thicker side, but they work for this style: less dainty, more functional. It only took a day or two of wearing to break them. After that, I walked 4-5 hours straight on this pair and my feet were't too tired. My only complaint is that Frye does not seem to make a size 5 (or were they sold out?). I got 5.5 since that was the smallest available when I purchased them two weeks ago. I'm small (5f & 105 lb). My feet are not an exception. I just wish that Frye acknowledges that some people are born with tiny feet and makes some, if not all, of their products in smaller sizes. A size 5 would have made these shoes 5 starts for me. Too bad.

These shoes are well made and look great. They are very versatile - I wear them with skirts, dresses and pants. I would give them 5 stars, except that they aren't that comfortable. The strap around the ankle fits me well, but after wearing them for a while, it rubs on the outside of my ankle bone and is not comfy. Also, the insole is really hard. No padding at all. It is leather, which is a plus, but if I walk in them for several hours, the bottom of my feet get really sore. So, if you want a pair of dressy sandals that you won't be wearing for long periods of time, then they are fine. But if you are looking for something that will be good for work, traveling, walking, exploring, etc - they probably aren't the best choice.

Very cute and well made, but going back. The strap on the front hits my foot at a bad spot. They are too expensive to keep and find out if they turn out okay!

These shoes are gorgeous! I am secretly glad that they didn't work out, because they are expensive. Still, the only reason that I am returning them, though, is because they don't fit my feet well. The strap across the toes is a bit snug, yet the strap around the ankle is loose. But, if they fit your feet, they are beautiful! And even though they don't quite fit me, they were still comfortable. Sounds contradictory, because they don't fit, but even with the strap a little loose, they were still comfortable! And this color combination? Outstanding!
