I bought a pair of the Palisade shorts and loved the fit, and ditched the extra bulky belt belt and picked up a pair of the Palisade pants. I don't think about what to wear now, and grab them when headed out in the city or for a multi day adventure.
It's true what another poster said - they fit 'almost' too good. And it's true. The built in belt means it's as tight as you want it, so if in doubt order a size up and see if that will work for you. If you are putting on muscle like myself, you will appreciate the extra space around the hips that vanishes under the built in and unnoticeable belt.
My only complaint is the cargo pockets are different and larger than on the shorts and hold things slightly looser. My preference and expectation was to have the same styling as the shorts, but longer, pant style. So things tend to jiggle around more in the pants than in the shorts due to these larger and looser pockets, especially while running.
My second question rather is around the durability, but I suppose I will see as the years pass how well they hold up. So comfortable, so if anything happens, I'll be ironing on a patch to keep them in rotation! Very happy with the fit, comfortability and how easily they go over a pair of Palisade shorts when the weather gets cooler.

Bought these for hot summer use. I'm spending a couple of months moving about the Dalmatian coast this summer and wanted a pair of pants that could be used for day-hikes in the coastal mountains and then transition into casual evening wear. I've been using my Rab Latitude pants for that during the last few years and they've worked well enough. They're also very lightweight and have articulated knees and a gussetted crotch - but they lack any stretch. I was hoping the Palisade's stretch spec would add a bit more comfort irl, and sure enough it did. Sweet.
When I first began putting them on I worried I had purchased a size too small and would have too return them to Arcteryx's online store. But when I pulled them all the way up they sat...perfect. Tight but exact and comfortable, knee bends and lunges too boot.
I've worn them for a few days in 24+C temps and rhey are even 'air-ier' than my Rab hot weather pants.
The detailing is superb and the features are so thoughtfully executed. As I've said in other Arc'teryx reviews, I really like the quality and functionality of Rab gear but Arc'teryx seems to always have an edge on my similar Rab gear by getting the styling of its clothes down pat. So too with these pants - they look/fit/drape just a little too good.
Main take-away here: these pants are very light with a slight crpe-like texture. The stretch is slight but comfort-inducing along side the trim fit. They pack away small and look really nice. They breath as good as any of my other top-spec pants. Just don't know about their durability yet but Croatia's jagged coast will tell soon enough.

They are comfortable and fit perfectly without any alteration. I wear the shorts too.

I have 2 pair of the Palisade pants redesigned for 2016 and 2 pair purchased in 2014. Chief differences include the addition of zippers to hand pockets in the 2016 models and the replacement of 2014's plastic belt buckle with a metal hook. I LOVE the changes. The former allows me to put keys, coins, and other sundries in my hand pockets without fear of anything falling out, while the latter is less bulky, slightly easier to use, more durable, and better (more industrial) looking. I can't imagine how the 2016 Palisade pants can be improved.

I've got several pairs of these and I love them. If they came in more colors I would probably wear nothing but these. Seriously, Arc'teryx, give us a few more colors for the Palisades! Khaki and Wought Iron at least.
The cargo pockets appear quite slim when they aren't full, and even when they are they don't look like the bulge out much. They are very water resistant, to the point where I've lost my old pants and haven't had any desire to replace them. If it's a downpour they will leak a bit, but anything short of that and they shed the water right off.
The fit is fairly true to size, possibly on the slimmer side. They fit much smaller than the Rampart Pants, which I find run very large. Also, compared to the Ramparts these are much less noisey.
The fabric has a bit of stretch in it which is very nice in my opinion.
I have five pairs and have yet to put a hole in the oldest pair, which I've had for 1.5-2 years.
Highly recommended.
(But seriously, give me more colors!)

But I had to return them since the inseam was too short and the hem was not done in such a way that I could let it down. I needed the 0 long.

I wore my one pair of Palisade pants for 13 days in a row on a recent trip to England and Wales. They were comfortable for sitting on long plane flights and for hiking all day. The zip pockets are large and were fabulous for holding my phone, maps, etc. With a dressy top and these pants, I felt dressed up enough for dinners at nice restaurants. I washed them in the sink at night, and they were dry by morning. I'm 5'2" and 100 pounds, and I have difficulty finding pants small enough for me, but the size 0 with a 29" inseam was perfect. These are the most comfortable and versatile pants I've found in a long time, and I will be ordering more.

Ansonsten Super-Kauf!

After a very long quest for the perfect hiking pants, I've found pant nirvana with the Palisades. They're extremely comfortable with a slim fit (unlike many hiking pants these days that look more like billowy clown pants). They have a rare combination of wind resistance while remaining breathable on a warm day. The front pockets work great with the backpack hip belt in place and the cargo pockets hold plenty yet lay flat when empty. They make a little swishy noise when walking but that's the price of a moisture/stain/tear resistant, light-weight fabric.
I like them so much I bought a 2nd pair for the future (just in case the 2015 model de-evolves in some sad way).
No regrets, no reason not to buy them!

This is my third pair with different color. I am 5'9" 146lbs and wear 32x30 size. The pants fit perfectly. Comparing to the Perimeter pants with the same size, the Palisade is tighter in the waist which fits me better.
I use these long pants when the temperature is below 75F and the short version when it's warmer.
The quality of these pants is great. The front pockets are well placed. Water resistance is excellent. Sometimes, I spilled drink on my pants, I just need to use my hand to wipe out the liquid.
This Palisade model is hard to buy due to supply issue. At times, I had to wait for months before I see it available on this website. The second problem is that it has limited colors. I own all the colors available for both long and short versions. I need new colors.

The best fabric to retain shape and for quick drying, ideal for mid season hiking, traveling, commuting, light weight, quite breathable and a brilliant cut: elegant and functional, minimalistic design...my favorite active pants since 2008.
The cut has been improved (for me), the waist is a little bit lower in the back. The previous height wasn't necessary even for cycling.
But the previous form had zipped waist pockets...the new waist pockets feels larger but they do not close...I hope that they will switch to the previous pocket design on the next iteration of the model.

I bought them a year ago. They fit great (thx ARC for longer versions), they feel great. Material is very light, stretchy and very durable and provides very good termal comfort by stopping wind and breathing.
Those pants are so good, that I prefer to wear tchem more than any other pair I have in my collection. I dont care if they get dirty, I dont care if it is a bit too cold outside, I dont care if it is a bit too warm (just roll up to knee level).
Only when biking, I have to restrain the end of one leg (I knew there is no restrainer, so I dont complain).
I recommend this pants for almost every activity you can imagine, especially for treks, hikes and climbing.

Gusset crotch, belt with plastic buckle are excellent features. The belt will be great for getting through airport security. Fit is good and the weight very good.

My absolutly favorite hiking pant when temperature is two digit Celsius.
Pleasantly light, durable enough when the going gets tough and quick drying in case sky opened suddenly in between or when it needs an overnight washing.
The close-mesh textile offers considerable protection against strong occasional winds when hiking at coast lines oder slopes.
I also appreciate the integrated belt, which causes no trouble at airport security scanners and really like the pocket concept as I never use back pockets.

This pant is lightweight, and slightly wind and rain resistant. The integrated belt works great, and the waist size is true to size (I don't need to adjust the belt tighter since it just fits already). Because these pants are so light, they don't have much weight on the bottom cuffs to bring them down. I got an inseam size longer (1" longer than my normal inseam size) or else it rides up above my shoes when walking. The hand pockets are slightly tight but I don't mind a bit as there are also thigh pockets with great zippers.

These are awesome, I'm not sure what all the stuck in their ways whiners are talking about the redesign being bad. The seams are not noticeable and I love the pocket placement design. As Proof of their comfort let me add I go "commando" in them all the time. Elastic stretch is a must for me because I love to climb and move and these facilitate that perfectly. Light weight, fast dry time, great fabric. I can go weeks without washing them no problem. Good articulation, if I had a complaint I'd say they look a little to "technical" to feel stylish while wearing them, but oh well not really a style piece to me.

I love the redesign. I have no need for a back pocket and don't need to load up 4 zippered front pockets with stuff while I climb.
I wear these pants all day, every day for every activity. They stretch with me while I'm climbing, they do a fair job of shedding dirt, they dry quickly, they feel great - I can't feel any seams anywhere.
A great product, well worth the price.

Hi!
Really do not understand why all of you people do not like the pants and design. They are supper comfortable and great fit. I am wearing them all day after I came from work. I really do not see any problem with pocket design (with no zip) because I can quickly put things in my pocket without opening the zipper all the time. I had those type of pants and zipper was constantly open and close all the time.
This pants really do not need pocket like that since are designed more for all around use and usually I hate wearing things in pocket when doing activity. So pocket design in this case is really non issue for me.
Great pants thank you Arcteryx for that :)
BTW I am selling all my Patagonia similar pants because I am not using it anymore. ;)
