I have bought the Blade 28 as it gives ample space to store my sportswear, so I always have it with me in the office when I find some time to do my sports. In this perspective it definitely serves the purpose.
The pack is wears comfortably also via light activities, like cycling in the city. I can store all my sports and office gear fine and the pack enables me to limit limit to 1 pack for overnight travel.
Downsides are how the pockets are configured. The smaller pockets in the laptop compartment are not easily accessible and I miss a top pocket where I can store my items I need easily accessible like my keys, glasses and wallet.

Im a big fan of Arcteryx gear, I have one of the larger backpacking packs, many jackets from shells to insulated pieces etc. and really love them all. I wanted to love this pack, but it lacks the attention to detail Arcteryx normally has in place with their other gear/packs. The pack lacks some key organizational detail, such as the padded laptop compartment should be behind the clothing compartment, keeping the laptop closer to the body. If you are not carrying clothing or much in that extra space, (which also could use a strap to secure clothing). If no clothes, too much movement goes on with it being empty between the laptop compartment. Additionally, I don't like the idea of putting a water bottle on the inside of the pack?.. with your laptop, risky and not easily accessible. Lastly with the size of this pack, you should definitely have a sternum strap. The Granville has a sternum strap and its a lot smaller.

This pack looks great, but the functionality is lacking. The straps are thin and small and not what you would expect from a premium outdoor apparel brand. The pack has one large compartment for a 1 or 2 day business trip, but is lacking in easily accessible compartments for all other computer accessories and typical office supplies one would carry for work related travel. Your cell phone charger, laptop charger, wireless mouse, business cards, pens, and other miscellaneous stuff will just flop around in the one large compartment for your laptop. So expect to have to dig around looking for your smaller items. I would recommend that one of the executives from ArcTeryx try traveling with this bag to get a first hand feel for the improvements it desperately needs, especially for the price.

I have admired this bag from afar for some time and finally purchased it. I wanted a bag for short trips, to take a laptop to meetings, etc., that was more stylish than what one typically sees but also high quality and function.
The bag delivers exactly what I wanted. It is well-constructed and looks great. It fits me well, and at 6'3" with fairly broad shoulders that is not always the case.
Given the quality and design, it is a good value. Recommended.

Quite impressed. I thought it was a bit too big compared with blade 24, but after giving it a chance I'd actually say that I prefer it. More space and pockets to store. Almost lighter.

This is the best backpack I've ever owned and massively improved my commute to work every day. It's incredibly spacious without being bulky. Really well organized and great quality. Worth the investment!!

I have been enjoying this pack as work bag. It fits my laptop and accessories really well. There are convenient storage pockets to keep me organized (not easy). When going on short overnight trips it is super handy as there is ample room to pack for 2 nights on the road. At the same time, it doesn't seem too bulky when it's just being used as a day bag. I would recommend this for business/ personal travel for those who want to bring their tech, and clothing along for the ride in one convenient bag.

I've had this bag for over two years now. I use this bag as my everyday working bag as well as my travel bag. I travel a lot internationally and this bag can handle the abuse. The hidden compartment on the back pad is a very good place to hide your important documents or money. The way the zippers go around the bag makes it very hard to be picked by thefts. I like the fact that I can pack all of my digital gadgets in one compartment and my clothes the next. The laptop compartment is easily accessible when passing the security point at airports. I once hauled over 20 Kg of gifts in this bag and traveled in England and back and the bag had no problem with the load. And the size of this bag is just right. It is not too big to be checked in for flights and it is not too small to hold everything I needed when travel. It can be placed sideways and this makes it useful when chaining it with a roller bag.
I put a climbing D ring on the handle and when needed, I run the ring into zippers to make them more secure. I'm not sure if the zippers still have holes on the new gen though.
It is an over-all well designed bag with some room for improvements. A waist strap would nice and adding some hooks, packets, or zip ties on the shoulder straps would be nice too.

This bag is perfect for traveling. There is a separate pocket with easy access to store electronic devices, especially when removing tablets, notebooks for TSA purposes. The shell opening makes packing and unpacking easy and there is a internal zipper that helps separate shoes or dirty clothes from other items. It stows easily under any airline seat fully packed and has a semi hidden zippered pocket for storing important items such as wallet, passport and other docs. The shoulder straps can be semi stowed as well in case you want to quickly grab as a go bag.

Had the first gen blade 24. Replaced on account of it being stolen. It was a really solid backpack, with just a few things which could have been improved upon. The light grey displayed the dirt too easily. The user side laptop sleeve was too rigid when occupied. It fell just short of being useful as an overnighter. Also the side handle was nice, but the backpack straps really got in the way. Everything has been sorted out in this revision. I miss the old backpack straps a little, but far more was gained in this release than lost. Loving the bag

To make this bag perfect, an external pocket or sleeve for a water bottle is required

Reimene peker for mye ut og sekken fles som falle av. Spiss vinkelen p reimene og jeg kjper en sekk til umiddelbart! Dette gjelder begge strrelsene p sekkene.

Pockets not useful esp. the one at bottom back (too tight!). No bottom protection for Laptop. Straps not comfy. Zipper at the front storage not easy to zip open or close (you'll need both hands to do it!). I think the person who designed it doesnt use backpack. I Guess not all expensive stuff are good. Bad Bad Design!!!

First I really wanted to like this bag as I really like the brand. I am a climber and there products are usually the best. With that said here is my report on the Blade 28.
First on the description: Arcteryx own site says that it has a water bottle pocket, pocket for pens (plural), a pocket for business cards, and a charge pass through port. It holds a small plastic water bottle on the inside in the same compartment your computer is supposed to go. I personally wouldn't never put water inside the bag where my computer is. It doesn't hold pens it has a single pocket for a single pen. And the pocket for business cards is not shaped for business cards. The pocket actually is large enough to hold an AC adapter. And I have yet to find the charge pass through port.
Second Protection: The laptop goes in horizontally not vertically. This causes a problem because it's really in the main compartment and the zip cover is not padded. As the shape of the bag means you can't sit it down you have to lay it down on a side. If you do that the laptop has nothing to hold it in its slot and slide out to effectively hit the ground.
Third Pockets: Arcteryx is usually a company that is all about function but in this bag aesthetics seem to take precedents. Specifically the outer curved padding has no pockets which I think the bags needs more of.
Fourth Clothing: I bought this bag because it has a space for clothes when you have an overnight trip. I travel a lot but still 90% of the time nothing is in this space. Problem is the space for clothes is closest to your back not the laptop like most bags. And since they don't have anything to strap down that space when not in use your laptop and the weight of the bag is about 4" away from your back just dangling from the loose fabric.
Lastly Ergonomics: Most bags of this size don't have a waist strap which I think is a real shame. But this bag doesn't even have a sternum strap. Coupled with how the bag is arranged makes for a bag that constantly feels like it is falling off.
