The Lefroy Pants are an unusual piece. If you are hiking in the heat, as the Arc'teryx website recommends for these, then I would think most people would opt for shorts. So why go with pants in the heat? The Lefroy Pants shine when the excursion gets more technical and dicey. The more climbing and scrambling you have to do - you'll want to opt for pants. The more wind, rain, harsh sun, and sand storms you encounter, you'll want to opt for the pants. The downside is everyday comfort. In the heat, these don't breathe as well as cotton or as well as shorts. So you'll need to be careful not to get too sweaty in your groin, or you'll be in tremendous discomfort. With powder and anti-chaffing gel, these worked out well in the desert heat - super dry, super windy, sand everywhere, but not much hotter than 80 degrees. If it's humid and goes above 80, I would opt for shorts and just take the hit on losing protection from rock abrasion, sand, sun, rain, wind, and cactus spines. Not having rear pockets is weird, but after a few uses, it becomes a non-issue. The zippered side pocket is good for a map only. If you try to put something heavy like a phone, it becomes extremely uncomfortable. Thankfully, the main front pockets fit and smartphone perfectly and you can't feel it at all even during a long hike. As the trek gets more technical, the Lefroy Pants become indispensable. The DWR works incredibly well. The fabric feels neutral with prolonged use - shedding it's "rain paint" scratching swishing sounds as you get going on your hike. Rock climbing leaves these unscathed and does trekking through sharp underbrush. In short, the harsher your environment, the better these perform.

Great pants overall. Fabric makes some noise not too big of deal. With all the pockets and potential amount of stuff you hold not sure how durable the belt buckle will hold

Like the title states: The Lefroy May Turn Into Your Go-To's. When I first bought these I really wasn't expecting too much other than a pant to wear on occasion, for casual and for a few summer hikes. I find myself reaching for this pant when the occasion is casual, hiking, climbing, work or running errands and doing house chores. Such an outstanding perceived value in the Lefroy. This pant is VERY air permeable which makes it a great pant for high caloric activities. Summer hiking, working or yard chores- the Lefroy will substantially mitigate sweating of your lower half because they are that breathable. Try and see, I dare you. The textile is abrasion resistant and surprisingly so. I originally thought that the fabric wasn't suited for climbing, but after wearing these for a few times due to leaving my dedicated climbing pants at home, the Lefroy has done this activity just as well and I have yet to see any sign of chafing or snagging. The Lefroy holds up very well. All the comfort is there just as well. With the aforementioned comments on air permeability, the stretch of the fabric and the regular fit make the Lefroy suited for whatever you may need to do. The belt stays tight and is easy to use. The zipper works just fine, and I have yet to see that it has worked itself down on its own. In summary, for the price, the Lefroy is hard to beat. I honestly don't know why you're still reading this and not getting one for yourself...just stop reading this now.

I bought these for backpacking trips last week on the Teton Crest Trail and Wind River Range. These worked out very well for the trip. I love that these pants fit well. They are comfortable and functional for hiking but the fit and appearance make them suitable for urban or casual wear as well. The stench fabric is nice too. The pockets are just right as well. I like that these have no rear pockets as I never use these anyway. I like that the zippered thigh pocket is offset to the side so that its contents are not bouncing off your leg as you walk. This pocket works well for storing a phone. I normally wear a 29Wx30L. Since that size is not available, I found the 28S to fit best for me.

This is an excellent lightweight pants for hiking in hot weather. It is extreme breathable and dry quickly. Beyond my expectation, its fabric has effective DWR coating which works well. The fabric itself absorbs very little water.

Replaced my well worn, trusted hiking pants after probably too many years. Delighted with my new ones! Find myself wearing them all the time. I have a shorter leg length and they fit well. The belt design is excellent and keeps them sited exactly where they need to be.

These are now my go-to pants for any outdoor activity. They are a slimmer fit than I'm used to but it's surprisingly very comfortable. They stretch in all the right places so they move however I want them to. I DEFINITELY recommend these to anyone seeking a good pair of hiking pants that are very versatile for any number of outdoor activities.

This is my first Arc'teryx pant and after reading the reviews I decided to go with a size up, and I'm glad I did. I'm about 5 foot 8 inches tall, 180 lbs. and I would normally wear a men's size 32 x 30, however I decided to go with the 34 waist with these and they fit perfectly around my waist and legs. I am not a fan of slim fit pants but these ended up fitting and feeling perfect. Overall minimal design and lightweight, comfortable for hiking and surprisingly durable despite being thin and stretchy.

Great pants, my usual 32/32 fit like a dream. Fabric is durable and breathable and wind resistant which I like a lot. Only time the pants are not up to the task is in hot humid temps. The synthetic cloth can feel a little oooky against sweaty skin. Also just a suggestion that would make these pants EVEN BETTER would be adding bootlace gaiter clips like on the Gamma AR. Gaiter clips are my favorite feature on Arc'teryx pants, wish there were more with them. Would really solidify Lefroy as a bushwhacking pant.

I've been using these pants for hiking at temps above about 55 F, and I've been very happy with them for that purpose. The pants perform as advertised - when I'm on the trail, I don't notice the pants. They're light and breathable, and they have enough stretch to not feel stiff while moving. The only thing I'd modify is providing a bit more room vertically in the crotch. I'd also like to see a left thigh pocket added to match the one on the right, but this is a minor want rather than a need. Unlike a few reviewers, I very much like the integrated belt. An added bonus is that the Labyrinth color is beautiful. I plan to buy another pair of these pants, and will have to make an effort to resist buying the same color again!

I wore these to do the Milford, Routeburn, Heaphy and Abel Tasman tracks in NZ. They are everything they are advertised to be. I was cool in the summer sun when I wore them for sun protection, they are stretchy, durable, light and comfortable. After 230km of hiking they don't have a mark on them. I wore them every day. The even managed my stretching routine after the long days. I go them wet, they dried fast. I would hesitate to ever use another hiking pant.

These fit true to size as per the waist and hem on a decent pair of jeans. They are light, they are not-baggy but have a great stretch. I am 5'11, 100kg, have cyclists legs, and have more belly than I should. I bought a 36 waist. I use them for walking and hiking and they are comfortable for hours of rambling in 5-10 degree C windy, drizzly Irish Autumn.

Like the Lefroy Shorts, just as pants! Here is what I think about the shorts and it is directly transferral to the pants. Simply the best short ever. I ordered one, read a review about a guy buying one in every color because he simply loved them. I had a silent smile on my face because I knew I would do the exact same thing. And guess what, a week later I did. Oh Boy these are good. Thank you Arcteryx for making so great products. They are also available in a long version, I have implemented them as "the pants" in my company's wardrobe.

I bought these pants for a backpacking trip and was not disappointed. They fit perfectly and aren’t baggy at all. I love the lightweight material and the fact that it doesn’t seem to get staticky in the winter like similar pants. Great for hot summer hiking trips or just traveling in general. Arc’teryx is pricey but you generally get what you pay for.

Great all around summer pants for hiking and climbing. They can take a beating and have the right functions for summer activities. My only issue is they need to be sized up just a touch. My normal 32/32 is on the tight side, and the pockets aren't fully functional as a result. Also, what is with this trend of no belt loops on pants? I get you have the built in belt, but how are you supposed to carry your bear spray? It's bad practice to have it on your backpack where it's out of reach and can hit rocks when you put your bag down. The prauna zions have both the belt and loops to give you the option.
