I have an old atom sl from a few years back and i feel this new version is longer in the torso and thicker as well. I use my jacket for cooler temp activities such as winter running and xc-skiing. Light weight but warm enough for aerobic winter activities and breathes well. Enigma is an awesome color.

I already owned the Atom AR but I purchased this as a lighter option for spring, fall, and cool summer evenings, and it's my new favourite jacket! The colour (Mirai) is stunning and the jacket fits so well! This is one of the comfiest jackets I've ever owned and keeps me the perfect temperature when I'm out and about. I mostly wear it for walks and around town, but have worn it hiking too as its so light and breathable!

Love it as a mid layer on a cold day when going for a serious hike. Love it as an extra layer for warmth under a thicker winter coat that doesn't block wind well. Love it as a cool day jacket.

This jacket has some real style in addition to being a great go-to piece when the weather turns cooler. It works well as an outer layer over a t-shirt on most occasions, and I like it's low bulk for times when it serves as a midlayer.

I've had this jacket for a few months now and absolutely love it. Fantastic fit (I'm 5'9 145lbs got a small) and incredibly versatile. It works well as a stand alone piece in early fall and can easily transition into a layer system when the weather changes.

This is a great jacket for activities such as hiking when something a little thicker would be too warm.

I bought this a couple months and its the first jacket I grab out the door when its windy. I live in the Bay Area and it gets kind of chilly, so when I realized that thats the case, I grab it on my way out. It's lightweight and portable so say you misread the weather, you shouldn't be bothered by just carrying it around when its too hot

I already own the Atom LT which is really a wonderful jacket for layering while skiing. The Atom SL has no insulation in the arms and light weight material under the arms. It is cut slightly closer to the body than the LT but fits me perfectly. I really love this jacket. Just a warning I have a dog who loves to jump. This material is not overly durable by design and will rip easily.

I bought this Jacket six month ago and it protects me well through rainy days! It is very light and nicely adjustable. I am 178 cm and bought size S which was the best choice.

This is a great jacket you can pack along for summer hikes when you reach altitude. Also in the winter while taking a break for an extra layer. Even walking the dog in the city. All round adaptable.

This is my second Atom SL Hoody, purchased after I ripped my first one after having it for almost 10 years. It is so versatile; somehow it works during mild spring or fall weather, and still feels warm for cold weather fun. It works for everything from walking around town with my dog to ice climbing. The cut is perfect, it's slim enough to not get in your way but it's never binding. For reference I'm 5'5", 125 lbs and have a small. It also washes up nicely.

i bought this as an added option with my other two atom jackets, but it also has become the cool weather cycling jacket, over my cycling jacket. The fit for the SL is snugger than the other atom jackets i have.

Used this over a base layer and heavy quarter zip while trail riding in western Colorado with temps in the 20s-30s with snow and it broke the wind well and kept me dry. Will be buying more Arc'teryx products after that.

I've got both the Atom SL Hoody and the Anorak version. It's definitely one of my go-to pieces for a variety of reasons - namely the versatility. With the breathable fleece side panels, it performs surprisingly well in high output activities like trail running or hiking on cooler days. DWR has performed well for me, although I wouldn't want to be caught in the Atom in a full-on rainstorm. The zone insulation in the body is perfect for me - I don't need insulation in the arms until it's really cold, so this works for me down to maybe mid 40s F. With the light weight and packable nature of this guy, no reason not to toss it in the pack on a warmer day to pull out in case temps drop.

My husband gifted me this and I'm glad he did. The Atom SL Hoody does a lot better at keeping me warm while also being breathable when I am hiking than my previous jacket. No getting overheated. It's so cozy I never want to take it off. Even though it's meant for active activities, I like it so much that I'll wear it out to go to the store just to keep me warm. I'm excited to try more activities outside with it.

I needed a nice and simple jacket that I could use for fall and spring, and after a lot of reviews on line, I decided on the Gamma LT Hoody. When I first got it, I was a little surprised by how light and thin it was. But once I put it on, it felt great! The material is a lot tougher than I initially thought, and it fits fairly slim. For reference, I am 6'1", 175lbs and a 32" waist, with a 41.5" chest. The size large fits well on me. The sleeves and the overall length of the jacket are a bit long, but I like this particular cut. The jacket length comes almost covers my back side. I can also comfortably fit a light sweater, fleece or cotton hoody underneath if I wanted to use this during colder days. As some other reviewers noted, there is an inside pocket, but it is fairly small, and you wouldn't be able to fit most modern-sized smartphones in it. The 2 side hand pockets are higher, and they are very deep. So if you happen to forget to zip these pockets, you don't have to worry about your keys or change falling out. There is a nice stretchy feeling to the jacket, which is typical of a soft shell. I plan on wearing this on windy days and if it is slightly raining, I have no concerns. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase!

I bike alot in NYC, you'll go from riding on a hot street, u leave it open, then into the city, where it's shady and cool and all you do is zip it up. Very packable, it offers good breathability, I would wear this in 70-50 degree weather, it's not a windshell, would wear another layer if it is windy.

I've used this hoody as a mid layer under a shell snowboarding; a layering piece while touring & snowshoeing; and as a wind breaker on a spring day biking and I absolutely adore this product. It's breathable, and can handle light precipitation while protecting you from cold/wind. It's so light it's easy to throw in the backpack (or purse- no joke) as a back up for Vancouver's constantly changing weather. I will definitely be purchasing the LT or AR as it would be nice to have an option with insulation in the sleeves as well.

For lighter insulation, I have a lot of fleeces to get me through various activities. I was soon due to travel and I had heard a lot of great things about the Atom SL so I added one to my quiver and have been quite happy with it. It's fairly packable, light, comfortable, and has a style that can cross over well to urban-esque environments when I'm not hiking or travelling. I haven't had it long enough to test the durability, but if it's anything like my Atom LT I'm sure it will hold up well. The face fabric has a nice wind resistance to it, and the warmth-to-weight ratio is perfect for carrying in a pack on a day hike where summit temperatures will be lower, or on trains and planes where the AC is blasting.

I've LOVED having the SL as an option in my layering kit. It's the perfect summer + fall evening jacket when things cool down. It cuts the wind and supplies warmth without taking up much space. As per any atom, it's a quality piece that I'm happy to have. Would highly recommend it. It is thin and fits nicely under all my other layers as well!

I'd been looking for a good softshell for a while and bought this jacket based on reviews.would have to say it doesn't disappoint. I use it for summer hiking when the weather is forecast as a bit unpredictable. It stands up well to summer showers and for such a light weight jacket the wind protection is excellent. As with all my Arc'teryx gear I ordered a medium and as always it was a perfect fit. A definite must for those unpredictable summer hikes.

This layer is super lightweight and is perfect for spring touring, running, or even out for a ride on my gravel bike. Even when the weather can't decide what to do in the spring, it is super versatile. If a mini rain spell rips through while I'm riding, this layer dries super quick and I absolutely love that...along with the two zip pockets.

This jacket is the best thing that happened to me this spring. It functions amazing as a base-layer under a warm puffy when it is really cold out and you need to stay warm at the belay, or as a standalone for warmer days in the shade. What I love is how easy it is to adjust the waistline and roll up the jacket for when you want a layer on while climbing, but need to access your chalk bag. It actually still looks super cute this way too, and the function is amazing. Would highly recommend this piece to anyone looking for the perfect climbing mid-layer.
