I ordered this and the capra bolt without waterproofing. They both for the same and I kept the non waterproofed version only because I worried about the breathability of the waterproof shoes in the hot, humid TN summer. I'm sure I will regret this decision when I take a trip to Glacier NP this summer, but for now I'm happy! They are a typical clunky athletic shoe- a bit on the heavy side.

These fit great! Finally, this is a Merrell that is not too wide! These also work well with orthotics as I did not need to remove the insole. Love how well they fit and cannot wait to walk the dog in them!

I own the high top hiking boot and they are so comfortable and helped with some back issues so I ordered these and they are just as comfortable. Neither pair required any break in period.
In hiking boots I always get a 9, in sneakers it could be a 8 1/2 or 9. These in the 9 fit perfect.
I do use my own orthotics and they fit fine

These fit and were comfortable right out of the box. They are definitely waterproof -- a feature I really enjoy. I where these as an everyday shoe and a hiking shoe.

This shoe is warm, waterproof, comfortable, and provides stability in various activities from running errands to hiking. It might be too warm for the summer season, not sure on the breathability in hot weather, but in cool springtime weather it's perfect. As for size, many shoes do not come in 10.5 so I'm used to wearing 11. However I tried the 10.5 in this show and it fits exactly as it should, a great fit on my foot with athletic socks (I haven't tried to fit in winter socks but the shoes are so warm you wouldn't need them anyway).

Loved these shoes. I am between a 7 and 7.5, for sneakers I always go up because it is better to have a little more room in the toe box. These shoes are super comfortable, provide excellent traction and support during hikes. I bought the pine grove color, which isn't bad (for hiking boots) which always seems to be a challenge. Highly recommend. Will probably buy the high top version of these in the future if I think it's necessary.

Merrell never disappoints. I work in the service industry. I'm on my feet constantly. Because of my field of work I blow through shoes. I've been wearing Merrells to work in for a few years now and I have no major complaints.

Great ready for action shoes! I needed a new pair of waterproof shoes and was happy with my previous Merrells (which lasted a few years of hard use before losing their waterproofness and cushioning). I ordered my usual size 10 and was happy that they fit just right with a pair of socks- even thick ones. My feet are long, but have medium width and are slender. They felt a little stiff the first few wearings just from being new. They are feeling great and I'm happy with the colors. And thanks to Merrell for adding a pull on loop on back to help with putting them on easily!
I wear them for walks and hikes and for everyday active life with little kids while living on a mountainside. Great for rainy days all year round.

loved these shoes! after researching different models and brands I found the perfect pair for my hikes around Yosemite. I was a first time hiker and was very happy that these shoes are good to go straight out of the box. no break in needed. after reading the reviews i decided to order a half size bigger and it was perfect (especially with thick hiking socks.

Finally, a shoe I can hike in that is flexible enough to not make my feet hurt! My feet need flexibility more than protection, but these are also reasonably protective, a bit more than the average running shoe. I've only been searching for a hiking shoe I can bear to wear for about twenty years, and now it appears I've found it. The only slight negative is the large heel profile, which is standard but has never felt natural to me. And did I mention they're waterproof?

I got these shoes when they were on sale, which did have a big part in my decision. That said, I felt that they really hugged my feet and gave it nice support. Of all the shoes I tried, these fit the snuggest. I like the grip on the soles and the weightless feel.

Loved the look of this shoe. Excellent treads for walking the hills. Lacing system east to use.
Very comfortable on my feet while sitting and standing. But the minute I walked across the room, the back of the shoe rubbed on every surface all the way around my heels and lower ankles. I tried readjusting, tightening, the upper laces, using the extra holes. But I could not get them to stop rubbing.

Nice looking and feeling shoe, but felt a 1/2 size too small. Once I tried these with standard thickness socks it felt wayyyy too small. Good support, light weight for this style, order a 1/2 size up in my opinion.

Very bright shoe with a sturdy base . Seems pretty warm so I wouldn't advise use in warm weather, maybe that particular material used is what keeps it waterproof. I'd use for added arch support since it's minimal in my opinion.

These are great, comfortable and fit true to size. I am a long distance hiker and bought them as a lightweight pair of hiking shoes for when I'm carrying less than 30lbs which is almost always. So far I've just worn them around town, but they are comfortable, light, and seem very grippy.

Really like the styling on this shoe. Good walking support without being too clunky on the feet. Light weight but still feels supportive. I have high arches and this shoe is adequate for me.

I was looking for a wider or more squarish style boots. i had one by Merrell from few years back. Sadly on the picture it looked like it was like that but they are rounded.

Having worn out another pair of this style, I found this iteration more comfortable. However, the left shoe was smaller and tight on my foot. I realized this after I realized that my left shoe on the Moab’s I had kept had this problem. I’m bummed that I have to return them. One pair with this is one pair too many. These will be on their way back.

The toes on this shoe run narrow and tight, much like Merrell's Siren Edge Waterproof trail runner (and *unlike* older styles of Merrells). I normally wear a 7.5, and I tried both a 7.5 and an 8. The 7.5 was to tight in the toes, and while the 8 was slightly better in the toes, it was too long overall. I ended up going with the Merrell Siren Sport Q2 Waterproof in wide, which I am happy with. It weighs the same, and while it doesn't have the same look as the Capra Bolt, it fits correctly.

The only problem I had with this shoe was that my heels slipped, which caused pain in the heel. I tried tightening the laces, especially the last two, by creating a loop with the shoelace at the last hole, which allowed me to snug up the fabric around the heel. Even using this technique, recommended by Zappos, I still experienced slipping. This is not a problem that I typically have with any type of shoe. Otherwise, I loved the arch support, the cushioning and the styling, especially the loops at the tongue and heel which help get the shoe on quickly.

Cute shoe, but these were not good for hiking. For $130, I expected a pair of shoes that would last for at least a year of intense hiking a few days a week. I used these for fieldwork, and they only made it through a couple of months before they started ripping apart on the widest part of the shoe.
I sent my first pair back because they were too small. So the size up turned out to still be too small. Once they were broken in, they were no longer waterproof, if they ever were. These were never comfortable when hiking. I do have slightly wide feet, but they tend to fit in most regular shoes. Also, have arch problems and even added support in these but it didn't help much.
In sum: the fit was never quite right, and these are not built for real hiking.

I have had these shoes for about 15 months and wear them lightly - for commuting to work (after which I put on dress shoes) and on weekends. They are coming apart at the seams. Very unimpressed with the quality for this price even though they are supportive and comfortable.
