I wanted a pair of all black Vans to wear to work as a replacement for dress shoes - I work in school IT and am constantly trashing dress shoes at least once a year. That and the dress shoes weren't breathable. I've got a pair of Old Skool Pros and a regular pair of Old Skools with the UltraCush insole and definitely wanted that for long term comfort - these looked like they fit the bill but when I got the Authentic Pros, I immediately noticed that I couldn't get my foot in them comfortably. Took the insoles out and things were fine. - It's not a width issue, but a height one. I debated swapping insoles but I could save a few bucks returning these for the regular Authentics and hoping for the best. So I'll do that.

They are so beautiful but they hurt so much to walk in, I've never had this problem with any vans before. It might be that the insole is too high that my pinkie hits against the rims of the shoe. Now they just sit in my room :(

I've worn Vans for years. I was excited to get these because of the cushy sole - normal Vans are notoriously hard on your feet sometimes. I ordered my normal size, 11.5, but I had the same issue as another reviewer - the shoes slipped off my heel when walking. I tried ordering a half size smaller but they were too small to wear. Had to stick with the original non-cushy ones. Too bad.

I usually wear 9 1/2 mens, and this time I ordered them I got them a lot smaller. I have gotten some vans 91/2 and fit perfectly but sometimes a size higher is better. I have blisters and can't really wear them comfortably. I waited to long to wear them but I did not want to wear them on the rain so I couldn't make a return.
I'd also recommend:
Vans are awesome but a lot better to buy from the store.

Zappos sent me the wrong shoes and I've returned about 3 of these requested reviews for my purchase. I don't think anyone is at the wheel over there.

After 4 days of trying to break these puppies in, I'm close to throwing in the towel and returning them I'm going to try another day or two. There is absolutely no padding around that part of the shoe that surrounds the ankle thus lots of skin irritation. Heels are trying to develop blisters, so it's not a pleasant experience. On a positive not, I really like the bi-color shoe which shows well. I may be forced to try the Sperry Striper which appears to have the angkle padding missing from the Vans.

Super bummed about these shoes. Been wearing vans authentics for 20 plus years. These are cut very narrow through the arch of your foot. Super uncomfortable! First time ever, I have worn a pair of authentics once and will not wear them again.

Shoe heel slips really bad. Can’t wear them. They look great but don’t fit as well as other vans.

I'm a big fan of the regular Vans Authentics (Men's size 9) but always wish they had more arch/heel support. When I saw that the Authentic Pros had a removable insole with extra support, I was excited to try them. I bought a size 9 in the Pros, which was a little bit longer than a 9 in the regular Authentics (so I can see why people are recommending a size/half down). After wearing my new shoes for one day, my feet were killing me. The toe area is much narrower in the Pros and the outer sides of the shoe curve inward much more than the Authentics. When I wasn't moving, everything felt fine, but after a day of walking, I had blisters on both of my pinky toes. Sizing up won't work (too long), so it's money wasted. I just traded sore soles for blistered toes. Very disappointing.

The sole tore and broke just after 6 months. Very comfortable but not made to last.

Gave me a the wrong model, gave me Classic instead of the Pro. I can't return it because I'm far from the US, would take months and cost more for shipping to process the returns. Not satisfied with my shoes and makes me so down.
