I bought this backpack for my boyfriend and he loves it! It is a great size, holds plenty of books, and has a nice padded laptop area too. It has 2 water bottle holders on the sides that actually hold bottles securely without slipping out. The smaller pockets in the front are great for holding smaller things like pens, phone, etc. The back is padded and very comfortable, and the chest strap is really secure and adds support. My boyfriend says his back started hurting less at school when I bought him this backpack!

My son choose these backpacks for last 6 years. One he had in high school and now one in the college. Very good quality and style.

Great backpack. Tons of room

This is a great overall backpack. I am ordering my second one. The first one lasted 5 years and then the zipper broke. Other than that it is in great shape. I travel for work and I take it everywhere! I couldn’t find another backpack that I liked as much as this one so I searched online for it and I was surprised that they were still making it. I guess DaKine sticks with something that works!

Perfect everyday backpack! Love the cooler pouch on front, it’s big enough for a sandwich and a bottle of water. Perfect amount of pouches for storage and mesh pockets on the outsides which were a must for me. Fabric is stiff but will wear with time. Would buy again!

Great backpack for school! I first purchased this bag for my daughter who's in middle school as she needed a bigger bag. Who knew an orchestra folder can be SO big. I was quite impressed that I bought one for myself. This bag has more room than needed but I'd rather rather have that then not enough. It's enough for my books, lunch (as this has an insulated pocket just for lunch!) personal belongings and can fit an extra set of scrubs just in case something goes wrong at the hospital. This even had room for my motorcycle helmet (I got curious). Get this bag it's pretty awesome!

This bag is roomy and comfortable and absolutely accommodates anything I throw at it. Highly recommend.

This backpack is PERFECT!!! My high school daughter absolutely LOVEs this bag, it fits all of her books and belongings. She loves all the compartments, everything is organized so nicely. It is made very well, looks like it will last for many many years! I highly recommend this backpack!!!!

I bought this backpack for my son to use at college. It is large enough for all his books and the right amount of small zippered small pockets. He finds it very comfortable and is extremely happy with it.

Solid backpack. I was looking for a backpack bigger than my last dakine bag since I busted the zippers overstuffing it. Came across this one with a very reasonable price for what you get. The insulated pockets fit 32oz bottles easily and keep them cool for hours - I go to college in socal where it's humid all the time. Secondary pockets are all really accessible with plenty of pockets and sleeves to store a myriad of things. The only thing is that the laptop sleeve feels thinner than my last dakine backpack, but I wear the straps pulled tight against my back so my laptop never bounces around. Zappos also has 1 day shipping so I didn't have to walk around campus with a busted backpack for too long. If you're in the same position as me you should consider this backpack. Bang for your buck, and plenty of designs to choose from.

My last one went thru hell and back and held up really well...even surviving my motorcycle accident. Finally the zipper gave up. I actually bought another brand, but took it back when I discovered the wimpy loop at the top. I always hang my bag from that loop in my locker. Was surprised to find that Dakine still makes the exact same one. All my stuff is in the same old spot...a real bonus for someone like me! Thanks Dakine and Zappos!

This is my 2nd purchase of this particular style. I gave one to my daughter-in-law, who is a grad student, as a gift. Both she and my son raved about it, the features and how comfortable it is to carry. So this one is a gift for him. I can't speak to any of it personally. But I can say it seems to offer the functionality and size needed by adults in the academic world.

This bag is perfect for big laptops. There's lot of space for books and other stuff a college student would carry. But, the bag feels little heavy.

Bought this for my freshman son late in his freshman year. This bag is definitely up to the task! He is now a graduating senior that carried it to after school sports/activities all while loaded with books! Honestly its a great looking bag and it is just as nice as it was when it got here almost 3 years ago.

When I first got this bag, I thought it was going to be too small. I needed a bag for college that could hold all of my books, wallet, phone, and other knickknacks. The laptop padding takes up a lot of space, but I am able to store books and notebooks back there. Overall I am pretty happy with the bag. The only downside to the bag is the middle zipper. It does not extend the whole length of the bag so you're really only able to hold a wallet and a couple pencils in it, which is disappointing.

Three years of college later, my DaKine backpack's bottom is starting to show. This is a pretty decent pack for school. There are small things, like wishing the water bottle elastic could prevent my bottles from falling out with a loud clang, but it's a good backpack. The first backpack I received had a defect (one of the pockets had no zipper) but Zappos saved the day and sent me a new one.
