Beware! These shoes came used. They were not delivered in a Allen Edmonds box and it was apparent from the soles that this pair of boots had been worn. Also, there was no return slip or any paperwork included. Shame on you Zappos!

The boots looked and felt great as a style...I own a pair of this boot already in light brown. HOWEVER, the color description is deceiving. I understand “taupe” comes in many shades...literally! These boots are truly gray! Shoe companies, STOP using fancy color words to describe your shoes...gray is gray, tan is tan, green is green...we ALL get what that means. But when you use words like taupe, or teal, or “earth”...the interpretation is left to be interpreted. So...boots great, looked good...I didn’t need a pair of gray boots! The were returned. YES...the picture looks gray, I get that...but unless the color is red or yellow...you never really receive what you see in the image on a computer or phone! Side note...go look up “taupe” on Wikipedia...even they can’t decide what the description is!!!

After looking at these for a few years, I finally bought them. I bought them at Allen Edmonds during a 30% sale and I wanted to not enjoy them. After wearing them indoors there was no returning them. The leather is soft and very comfortable. The sole took a few wears to conform to my foot and now these boots feel like slippers. Only drawback is having rubber on just the heel.

Been looking at these for a couple years and finally broke down and purchased them. Perfect fit which is ultra rare for me. Will likely resole with full rubber sole but very happy. My uncle landed at Utah Beach on DDay, how could I not have a pair?
