Was not happy with this boot, very tight. I did twice bring to a local shoe specialist in order to stretch, no luck. The lacing top three would not stay in place, continue to unlace themselves. I normally do not have problems & can wear most brand shoes right out of the box, not these.

These are just fantastic boots. Rich brown leather. True fit. Well made.

With any pair of shoes (or more specifically feet), you need to find the fit that works. What I like most about AE shoes, boots, etc, is the customer service and infinite sizes available. I am fortunate to live nearby a retail store and have established a rapport with the sales manager. Excellent service! Not every style fits my foot, but that is because AE shoes come in over twenty or so lasts. Each last has a different fit and style. I think when reviewing shoes for others' benefit, it would be sincere to state why the fit didn't work for you rather than disparage a company that is downright phenomenal! All AE shoes are made in USA by Americans, isn't that in and of itself great? Also, AE stands behind every product they sell with unmatched customer service. The clientele AE serves would not except anything less in that regard and that is why AE is such a great company, they understand service and product are inseparable. So on to these boots... This style of boot is tight fitting, but more snug than tight. They should be. They aren't meant for stopping around in the woods or through snow storms, though I would imagine they would serve you well in the short term in either case. These boots are stylish and look great with both dress jeans or dress pants. All AE shoes and boots will also require a break in period. Eventually, the boots conform to your feet and will be very comfortable. Leather gives over time and this is true with any shoe. Hope this review helps.

These shoes are absolutely beautiful. My husband had gotten so many compliments. He says that they are uncomfortable in the heel, which I think is because they don't have any cushion. They fit perfectly on his long skinny feet.

This is a great boot for the office during the cool months. The fit is true to Allen Edmonds standards and lace up nicely. My only issue with the boot is the toe crease that was made after wearing them a few times. The crease clashes with the toe cap and is very noticeable. I also keep shoe trees in these as well to help with the shape.

VERY POOR QUALITY CONTROL: Bought these for the hubby and he loved the style. Then he put them on. The shoes squeak and loudly. No amount of breaking in will resolve this problem as the squeaking is caused by the poor construction of the shoe. Look inside and you'll see the leather lining was not matched properly to the outside piece when they were sewn together. That causes bubbles in the lining. When you walk in these shoes, the lining and outer piece rub together, shifting the air in those bubbles, causing the squeaking. I ordered two other AE boots and all had the same construction issues. This is not acceptable in a shoe at this price point.
