GREAT work boot that my husband has worn for years. The only thing that seems to have changed is that they no longer last as long. The last 2 pairs have come apart at the sides up next to the toes after only 6 months of wear so that is disappointing.

Got just about a years worth or work out of them which is the longest I've ever had a pair of work boots last. Just wish they made them in 8" for better ankle support.

After one month, had to super glue heel closed at sole. Other than that fit awesome, n leather broke in great! Wish sole last longer or replacement option, but I do work with harsh oils.

I do agree on the break-in time, they do knock the calluses off the heel if you have any lol maybe a virtical sewing method on the inside heel instead of a horizontal

Very comfortable, light weight, and good quality. I am partial to the 8" work boots but these are a great 6" work boots.

these boots are great but need break in time. If you don't give them a chance to break in you won't be very satisfied.

Very comfortable but they last half as long as Redwing similar boots. I can't get a year out of the Ariat before the leather cracks badly at the instep and the stitching on the heel patch breaks. About 9 months is the longest I can get out of these whereas I get about 5 years out of Redwing. The quality leather and stitching in the Ariat is just not there.

Nice looking boot. A bit too early to give more stars, as the new boots are stiff and rub on the top of both feet where they bend at the base of toes.

Great looking boot, nice feel, but it's not very durable. I work construction and my boots goes though a lot of wear and tear. One thing I think is a major flaw is the sole detached from the upper which makes the boots Unusable.

I work on the railroad and 99.9% of my walking is on ballast. I have yet to find a pair of boots that are not completely destroyed after 1 year. I tend to always buy boots in this price range for that reason. With that being said, these boots are extremely stiff during break in. ( like wearing concrete) My feet hurt the first 2 weeks of owning them. The leather is soft after break in. To avoid tears, I apply mink oil or leather conditioner to keep the leather from drying out over time. I did notice that the strings are shorter on my 2nd pair vs my 1st. My only concern with these boots, is that I walked the shaft in the sole completely out in about 11 and a half months. If that happens again I will be changing boots next year. I would suggest these boots for someone that will go through boots yearly, a thicker insole as well. If you work on concrete all day or a flat hard surface, you should pick a more appropriate boot that is more suitable. They are not waterproof but mink oil and taking care of them will go a long ways!

I feel, this would be a great boot if I was able to try it on before ordering it. I haven't had a consistent fit from Ariat since I have been wearing them. One style will be a 9.5 m, typically western versions, others may be an 8.5 w, some are even a 9. For that reason and the trouble of back and forth shipping, I kept these boots. They are 9 w and feel oversized. I have tried insoles, two pair of socks like used to wear with work boots and insole with heavy socks. I can't get a consistent fit. My regular size with most shoes are 9.5. Unfortunately, there isn't any real indication which way to go with any Ariat boot for my feet.

My husband had high hopes for these boots but sadly they have not worked for him. He has tried for a few weeks to break them in with no luck. They leave blisters on his feet and make his feet sore, all which be thought would stop once they were broke in but nope. We can no longer return them since he’s tried to break them in, so my advice is to make sure you wear them around the house before you decide to keep. He knew when he put them on they were going to cause probs but tried anyway bc Ariat is such a good brand. Ugh wasted money bc now they will have to be donated or trashed.

Heed the warnings - these are INCREDIBLY narrow. Like - design flaw narrow. I've owned an enormous amount of boots/shoes and never came across something so tight in the toe box/arch. Unless you have abnormally narrow feet, order the wide. They look good and seem well built otherwise.

I bought these boots and wore them about 3 times the 1st 2 weeks. The duration of time that I wore them averaged about 3 hours A-day, I mainly wore them for style not working. I started to notice light cracking on the leather from movement. So my advice would be to get a good wax leather conditioner and put a couple coats on it. I'm not saying it's the Products fault.(maybe).....

I like the look, weight, (and unlike others in the review section) feel of these boots. Unfortunately i have two-three gripes with these boots. 1. The boots are NOT durable. I use them for work but i dont do anything intensive and the soles are destroyed after only 6-7 months. 2. The laces are cheap cheap cheap and youll need to replace after about 2 months. Other than that, decent boot.

The quality of the boot is good, but bought a wide boot and it's still too narrow. The boots are very uncomfortable!

I ordered these anticipating the color to look like the picture on the site. Once they showed up there was not a two-tone look as shown, but the boot color was identical to the Groundbreaker Steel Toe version. Disappointed but life goes on

I really liked these boots, but warrantied them last year and they have failed in exactly the same way. I wear them often, but I don't labor or do construction or anything like that.
