Great fit. I think they need a little more cushioning in the forefoot however. They are very durable as I use them at work. I will be getting another pair because they've saved me from several sprained ankles. The ankle support, for me at least, has been unmatched.

I know you are really supposed to break shoes in before taking them on a hike, but I bought these and got them in just a couple of days prior to our trip. Went on an 8-mile hike with brand new shoes and they were super comfortable straight out of the box! No blisters and plenty of support. Would highly recommend these boots.

This is my 4th or 5th pair of this model. If you are a 10.5 or 11 go with 11. Great boots

Recommended size was 1/2 size larger then my usual and was perfect. Very comfortable right out of the box with no break-in necessary. Decent arch support and nice style. Would definitely buy again.

I've had these for almost 3 years and wear them almost everyday i want another pair in the same color size width , but they are out of stock in my size If ZAPPOS is listening, please get another for me

The boots fit. My toes don't feel scrunched at all. Comfortable right out of the box and seem well-made. Looking forward to stomping in puddles soon, but for now I am confined indoors recovering. And, yes, I am wearing theses instead of my slippers.

I've been using these as a work/hike/motorcycle shoe for almost 2 years exactly. They finally gave out on me. I'd say they did pretty well.

I've heard people say that this manufacturer generally runs narrow I would agree with that but since I have a narrow foot these were absolutely the perfect fit. I would say if your foot runs normal or a little wide make sure to get the extra wide.As for traction durability and comfort I have now on these hiking boots for 8 months and I hiked most of the North Country Trail in Allegany mountain range with these very boots and they still look good they still hold up well and they're still comfortable.They were comfortable from the very first day I put them on no blisters and after wearing them for about 3 weeks I went on a 15 mile hike backpacking through the North Country Trail with them and was absolutely pleasantly surprised with not only their comfort but waterproof capabilities.

I've never bought a Vasque boot that I didn't like, and this Talus Trek boot felt snug and broken in when I first put it on. Pure comfort, and Vasque boots are hard to wear out - this pair should outlast me ! A great shoe for a fair price.

After a lot of looking and trying I finally found a light weight boot that works with my orthotics. I like a very traditional style so these come in on the edge for me in that department. They give good support and are comfortable. I am using them for day hikes not heavy backpacking. Some breaking was required.

These shoes are amazing. My feet were happy from the first moment I put them in. I wear them everyday all day and I absolutely love them. Vasque never disappoints.

I bought these for my 17 year old son who normally has to wear inserts because his feet hurt after being on them all day. He LOVES these shoes and doesn’t need the insert. From the first moment he put them on he was amazed. I want some for myself now!

Following reviews found here, I ordered 9-WIDE instead of my usual 9-Medium-width - great advice! With doubled socks, the wide was very comfortable on a 9-mile day hike over rocks and woodland, up and down about 1200'. Literally never thought about my boots during the trek.

I was leery of buying these, as I have a broken 2nd toe on my foot that makes fitting good hiking boots a challenge. I have used Merrell Moabs for several years because they were compatible with my foot, but those (IMO) have been declining in quality. I decided to give these mid-top Vasque Talus Trek Ultradries a try, after having worn Vasques throughout my college years and later when doing moderate hikes and multi-day backpacking trips. I'm happy to say that, after an initial mild blister-like warning on my left toe and application of some prophylactic adhesive tape, either the boots have adapted to my foot or my foot has adapted to them. I can now wear them without pre-taping. They give great support around the ankle, fit comfortably and feel true to size (I wear a 12.0 W, 12.5 W or 13.0 W, depending on manufacturer). When I was purchasing the boots, one of the helpful Zappos folks wrote in response to a question that if there is any question about size, you should size up. I did so and got the 13 W, and they feel great. The only issue I had with the purchase is that the color combination that I wanted wasn't in stock, so I went with "Slate Brown/Chili Pepper." Not my preferred but, hey, it turns out it's not bad. So, all in all, I'm happy and would recommend. I'll also look to see if Vasque makes something in this line but more of a hiking shoe rather than a boot.

I originally bought these to use on the motorcycle, used them almost year round for over 2 years. They aren't truly water proof, but they are comfortable and durable. I put shoes through their paces, and these held up better than I expected. The next time I buy hiking boots, these are my back up purchase.

Like all my Vasque boots, this boot needs no breaking in. It's a lightweight and very comfortable, true to size and easy to get on and off. You won't be disappointed with this one.

To me these boots seem to run narrow and short. I purchased 13 wide but it felt more like a 12D. Nice boot though. I wish it fit!

Ran a little narrow but feels great when hiking. I like a snug fit and I feel will be perfect once broken in a little more. Great traction and looks great.
