I bought these almost barefoot shoes upon a recommendation from my trainer for help in building my foot and ankle muscles. You can really feel every movement of your foot and get a good grip on the floor when exercising. They are very comfortable, but do require a break in period.

I am new to minimalist running but this shoe works perfectly for that. No arch support mainly because I am in the process of learning a new way of running which will correct my foot strike. I love that it is vegan and is great for road running, crossfit. The only thing that buggged me was seeing what looked like the glue along the seam between the sole and top of shoe. Something to get used to, but the material on the front and back are reflective for night or early morning running. I hope to buy 2 more pairs before they "upgrade" to a new style.

smaller and narrower than other styles. you may want to go a size down and don't expect the wide toe box. ? bummer, they are cool looking.

These are super comfortable shoes! My feet feel great in them. However, a little bit of water dropped onto my shoe when I knocked over a cup on my table. This resulted in the orange dye bleeding from the tongue of the shoe onto the grey part (thus knocking down the style considerably because they now look ridiculous) and dying my socks orange. I contacted Vivobarefoot directly, as I bought these through them, and their reply was, "Sadly we do not know of a way to stop this." I'm going to try to wash them when I have time to see if they can be salvaged. Otherwise, I will be returning them.

I love these shoes. This is my second pair - I wore the first pair for several years until they're completely worn out, just ordered these. They're half a size smaller than the first pair but fit just fine. I'm delighted. I have a lot of back & knee problems, and "near barefoot" works best for me. Love 'em!

I measure as a 7.5 but almost always feel most comfortable in an 8. I needed a 39 (8.5) in this shoe. My feet are on the wider side, but I fit well into most standard width shoes, having only bought a wide width once. These Vivo’s are nice and roomy, particularly in the toebox, and I would say they are wider than most shoes, but my heel doesn’t slip. I use them primarily for Tai Chi, where I want to feel the ground with minimal interference and plenty of room for my feet to spread. These shoes have absolutely no arch support, which may be an obvious trait in a barefoot shoe, and exactly what I was looking for, as I find arch supports push into my foot when I do standing practice. The insole can be removed. It has many tiny mesh covered oval holes for what they call a sensory experience. If I had my druthers, I would make them smooth. The bottoms of my feet are sensitive, and the presence of those holes irritates me after a while. Still not a deal breaker, as I could remove or replace the insoles easily. Definitely the winner of my hunt for shoes for Tai Chi.

I love these shoes! As far as minimalist shoes go, they do their job and I am very happy with my first pair!!!

Exactly what I was looking for -- minimalist / barefoot-feel shoes for lifting and training at the gym. I tried Merrell and Inov-8 shoes, and both were uncomfortable, too tight against my 5th metatarsal / pinky joint. These are nice and roomy.

Perfect fit, but bought a size 38 and 39 and larger pair was perfect.

Perfection! Tried these after my Merrell's wore out and these are so much better -- more comfortable, better fit, better looking. Great for grounding and walking. I don't run, so can't comment on that. If you like going barefoot, you will love these shoes -- barefoot but better.

Love these shoes! Found them after wearing Merrell's near barefoot option, which I liked very much. I like these even better. I originally ordered 7.5 but had to return for a 7, so I would say they run large. I walked 2.5 miles first day in these shoes and they almost made me want to run.

Great looking. Perfect in every way with one exception, the top/side hit the front of my ankles. (An issue I have with some shoes.)

Like, but not love. I wanted a black sneaker and I like the "barefoot" concept. First couple of time I wore these, I thought they were great. But when I wore them on a trip and walked through airports, I realized they were causing discomfort around my ankle (but to be fair, I have a double ankle). They also make me feel kinda flat footed and they make a flap-flap noise when walking. Well made and cute.

These shoes come with the insoles out of the shoe; you need the insole for the shoes to feel true to size. They were nice and comfortable, but didn't think they were so much better than Merrell's to justify such a higher price point. Returned them and went with Merrell instead.

Very cute athletic shoe but zero support makes them very uncomfortable for any prolonged walking. My feet get tired and I can feel every little pebble on the ground. They are fine for errands and activities when you are not on your feet for long periods of time

At first, I thought I loved these, but in truth, I do not. I am a believer that you really don't need or benefit from all the structure that regular sneakers offer, and I like that you can sense the terrain through the shoe. But these shoes make a "slapping" noise with every step, and while I thought they were comfortable initially, after wearing them through a couple of airports, I started noticing that they really are not. Its not the size - a larger size would not have fit my foot. They are good looking, well made and probably worth the $120, but I don't see me wearing them very much. I like my Merrell Bare Access Arc 4 much better.
