Thinner than I expected. Solid material. Like the stitch details. The boxy fit seemed very manly in an XL Olive color, but might be more stylish in a smaller size or another color

Burton's website says this jacket is their midweight so I was hopeful it would be warm enough for South Dakota winter but it definitely will not be. It's really cute so I thought about keeping it for 30-40 degree weather but it was missing a snap when it came.

This jacket is very attractive on and seems to be made nicely, but it only has one velcro connector for the pants to attach and the hood is unusually small.

Disclaimer: I am not a snowboarder. I purchased this coat, because I was looking for something that would get me through NYC winters, and my mom recommended Burton to me. Pros: • Stylish looking coat. • Nice metal zippers. Cons: • Coat is very loud and crinkly while moving around. • Seems extremely thin, almost like I would need a fleece Northface underneath to even be kind of warm. • Hand pockets both velcroed (which was also very loud) and zipped, which was mildly annoying. • It's huge. I'm 5'0" and 110lbs and ordered an XS and I was still swimming in the coat. When I put the hood up, the fur covered my face to my nose.

I have had exactly 2 winter coats in the past 20 years, both Burton and both so great. I got the Hazel jacket last year and, I'm sorry to say, it is so disappointing. I'm not sure if it's the denim material, but the coat started to wear at the cuffs and pockets right away. Now, a year later, it's coming apart everywhere! And this is just from normal, everyday activities - I'm not even snowboarding! I hope it's just a fluke with this particular style/material, because all my past Burton purchases have been so durable.
