I have two other colors of the Crave but the gorgeous black cherry leather in this color was very stiff, and although I sized up it was very uncomfortable. They are stunning though…BTW I have narrow feet.

True to size. Returning because too clunky to be versatile.

I LOVE these boots. They are beautiful and well made. How I wish they fit. I'm a pretty reliable 42. The size 43 was about the same size as my foot. There was no way I could put my foot INTO it. Maybe they could make a size 46?

In most shoe brands, I wear a size 9 or size 40 (US Women's 9-9.5), and I chose size 40 (US Women's 9-9.5) in the black/black color. The size was perfect for my size 9 feet. My longest foot measures exactly 10 inches in length. The width was fine, too. I was able to try the boots on wearing a medium thickness wool sock and there was plenty of room and the boots felt good until I stood up and walked around the house. I soon discovered that the heel was too high for me -- I usually wear flat shoes & boots, sandals, and running shoes. The higher heel made my grumpy back very unhappy. Also, the placement of the arch support in the boots was not aligned well with the undersides of my feet and was uncomfortable...the arch supports in the insole just felt like lumps under my older feet and my feet kept trying to move back or forward to adjust to the lump and couldn't find a comfortable position. I wore the boots indoors for about two hours to make sure they would feel good, but unfortunately the test failed and I returned the beautiful black boots. I liked the refined combat boot laced-up style -- it was what I was looking for...but...I'll have to find a boot with a low heel...

Too tight on the foot yet two lose in the heel. I am a 9.5 and ordered the 9-9.5 then exchanged for the size up. Same issue persisted with it being too narrow.

Like the other reviews I read, this shoe is made small. I thought that perhaps a larger size might help. I was wrong. My closet has sizes from 9.5 -11. Unfortunately it usually depends on the shoe. I wear an 11 in an athletic shoe if I use my insert. If I want to wear a dressier shoe I usually can wear a 10 without my insert for a few hours. If it is opened toe I go to a 9.5. Very difficult to guess what to order for a new shoe. Zappos is a lifesaver with its return policy and shipping protocols.

These boots are gorgeous. Unfortunately, the size 12 is more like a size 11 - way too small. Alas. I loved them otherwise.

This is a beautiful boot. I also ordered another Taos boot but both pairs squeaked so I returned them.

I ordered a size 8-8.5. This size usually fits with other brands, but the boot was very short. Seemed to be well made, heavy leather. IF I order again I would order a whole size larger. Minimal arch support. Questionable if a orthotic would fit...darn, they were a very nice boot.

I purchased a 37 since I typically wear a US size 6, but I would have needed to go up another size to be able to wear thicker socks. Unfortunately these were so loose at the heel even with thick socks, I didn't size up. I have narrow feet, but do not usually have problems with loose heels. They felt fairly narrow everywhere else. They golden tan was very pretty, but looked darker than the pictures on the Taos website. More of a medium brown. They did not feel that comfortable walking around the house, but maybe have gotten better with wear.

Cute boot but had to return size felt a bit small

I really love these boots but have not been able to get the right fit. I have a pair of these boots in burgundy size 41 that are slightly too small. I ordered the 42 in grey and they are much smaller then the ones I had. So strange. I am going to order both in a 43 and hopefully these fit. I wear a 10.5 in most shoes.

I wanted to love these. I even ordered a size up so I could wear thick socks. The area around the heel is very stiff and curves in a lot so they rubbed a blister within an hour of putting them on with very little walking. I knew when I put them on that the fit was not good, but I was hoping....

The boot itself looks high end and looks constructed beautifully. However I walked around my house for about 15 minutes and could not feel my heels. They went completely numb. The arch in these is really odd. It seems to drop your heel lower than the ball of the foot.

I love the look. But they were really tight on my toes. And even with feeling tight, my heel pulled up. I had to return them.

Beautiful shoe but toe box is very narrow and even ordering a size larger than normal made no difference.

I have been coveting these boots for a year and finally decided to get them. I LOVE the way they look in photos!! However, I am sending them back because I hate the way they look on my feet...they make my feet look chunky. It's like the inside of the boot caves in (I'm probably not explaining this very well). Needless to say, I'm so disappointed. Also, the Teal color was WAY more green than the pics online. I'm going to have to find a new pair of boots to covet!

I wanted to like these. I've eyed them for awhile but I have a narrow heel and my heel slipped when walking. I could tell I'd have a blister soon. The rest of the fit was fine. Not too narrow in the toe and true to size.

I ordered 2 pair of these beautiful boots in size 43 (12 - 12.5) but they ran extremely short, more like an 11. So disappointed. Wish they came in a 44.

It was pretty comfortable but was more green than blue like the photos, so I returned them-

The look of these boots is fantastic! But unfortunately for me the width is too tight. Even with loosening the laces a lot, it still hurt across the bridge of my foot. I have moderately wide feet.

These shoes are simply the best , the grey color is not really grey.

Beautiful boot. The color is really nice, not teal, not forest green, sort of changeable and stylish. Problem is that I wear a size 11 M and this is slightly too narrow and definitely too small. Had to return and order a size up. I ordered a 42. The 43 fits, but is none too large. No thick socks with this one.

I tried these as a previous reviewer stated they were equal to Frye's brand! Not even close to the quality! The soles are synthetic and buckle on the heel is faux? Frye's are Superior!!

Ok...so this is still a work in progress, but despite all the amazing reviews, high hopes, and my true love of the look of this boot, getting them to fit (and be comfortable) has been quite a process! I don't know who all the people are who think they are true to size, comfortable out of the box, and have arch support- this wasn't exactly true for me. I am an 8, pretty much always. I got the 39, as I would with other shoes. It was very short for my foot, and ultimately, too small. I would have had to loosen all the laces, wear super thin socks (which would defeat the purpose of the boots being warm in winter) and stretch them out a lot to get them to fit- I was so sad!!! So, I ordered the 40- something I have never done before- that's like a size 9! Those were too big, and my feet swam in them, even in thick socks...but, so loving this boot style, I valiantly tried to make it work. I bought special insoles (and first did research on insoles) and ended up swapping out the very uncomfortable (for me) Taos insoles for the ones with more support. The Taos ones are leather and nice, but I felt there was nothing under my arch- too much space! Maybe my arch is much higher than other reviewers? I often want more arch support, but could not get it with the Taos insoles in this boot. Next, I donned my thick wool socks. Finally, I tied the laces tight, and even did the wrap around my ankle...and...it worked!!! Mostly!! They are still big, and at times I feel I am clomping around in them even with those extra measures, and I may still need to stick even more padding under my arch- but I am WEARING them! Hooray!! The moral of the story is...was that worth it? I am not sure!! They are beautiful, and I love them, and they are truly a good quality shoe that I feel would hold my feet well, if they were the RIGHT SIZE. I WOULD have been a 39 1/2 (despite being an 8 in other shoes). I can't believe no one else has had a problem with no half sizes in these. Please, Taos, MAKE HALF SIZES! These amazing boots are worth it! I was interested in the Tall Crave as well, but it doesn't make any sense if it doesn't fit my foot naturally. I got the bordeaux color, which I was hoping would be more of a true burgundy, but is actually darker, and like some reviewers said, looks like two different colors- dark brown indoors, dark dark burgundy in daylight. Still gorgeous, though. Thanks Zappos for your easy returns! I hope this story helps other boot buyers out there...
