I love these so much. I was extremely skeptical of buying boots this expensive. But they fit like a glove out of the box. I could wear them for long walks right away with no discomfort. The color (teal) is more of a regular green but I still love it. I have received a ton of compliments and the boots just make me happy. I ordered a half size up from my regular. I wish I could afford more colors!!

These boots are very comfortable. I find them true to size. I bought s bit larger because of other reviews but had to return for size 40 which I usually wear. The colors are lovely. I bought every color! No break in, instantly comfortable.

Stunning, gorgeous boots. Super soft leather yet very sturdy. Well made. Plenty of room in width and in toe box. Based on previous reviews, I ordered a 39 (8-8.5) when I normally would have ordered the 38. The 39 fits well with or without a sock. The violet color is scrumptious. I can see owning this boot in every color. Be aware that they are lined with a cozy, wintry fabric so probably not a warmer weather boot.

The wide width fits almost like an extra-wide. I have very wide feet with narrow heels, a high instep, and a bunion on one foot. These boots fit great, especially after I loosened the laces around the toes. I walked over 7 miles in them over the past 24 hours traveling from the U.S. to Europe, walking in the airport and then walking around Barcelona. No blisters! They also look great, right on style. Love these boots.

Oh My! Do I love these boots. YES. I ordered the garnet suede and I'm in love. I have to say these are better quality than my Bjorn or Frye boots. I laughed at the one reviewer that said don't put them in your cart, you will fall in love. I agree. The garnet isn't an obnoxious red, I can wear these with a lot. And I will. I haven't taken them off yet, and I'm in my Jammies. Love em, so go for it! Worth the money.

Love these boots. Just bought a second pair after my first pair got too dirty from weeks in Africa.

I love these boots. I know they were expensive but you get what you pay for they are soft and perfect I will get another pair in another color maybe all the colors.

ZAPPOS: Women with large feet need shoes too. I wear an 11.5US and tried the size 42 and 43 and both were too short and overall way smaller than a US size 11.5. The 43 is nowhere near a European size 43, and nowhere near a size 12 or 12.5 as your website suggests! (I know, I used to live in Europe.) Please stop posting these incorrect and misleading sizes on your website!! I can't tell you how many shoe orders I have gone through trying to find one that really is equivalent to my US size. Argh.

These boots feel like I’ve already broke them in. I wear size 9 & bought size 40 in red, perfect fit & the color is awesome. Highly recommend.

These boots are amazing. Full stop, purchase if you’re on the fence. I have both the teal and smoked rugged, super happy with them. I love Taos footwear, and these are no exception. To add, I have bunions and hammer toes on both feet, still amazing. Try them!!

First of all, the style changes for the new BLACK on BLACK that features all smooth leather and same color stitching looks just beautiful. It makes the book look dressier and very sleek. I do wish this brand would make their boots true to size and give the wearer more ample room in the toe area where it is more narrow compared to other boots in the same size. The arch is good and there is great ankle support. I hope TAOS will redesign some NEW COLORS with all smooth leather and SAME COLOR STITCHING like they did with the BLACK on BLACK.

I normally wear a size 10 medium but got these in a 42 since so many reviewers said to size up. They really do run small- I would actually try a size 43 if they were in stock. But they’re so cute (and fairly comfortable) that I’m keeping them even though they feel a tiny bit small/ narrow... just wearing thin socks and hoping the loosen up a bit. I really recommend the Indigo color- it looks like a dark grey/ blue/ almost-black in real life. I like it better than the actual black ones and it seems to go with everything just fine. I like the higher shaft because I’m tired of cold ankles with my cropped jeans! These can go under straight leg or flared jeans, probably some skinnies too. The zipper is great for easy on/off, and the laces for adjusting the fit. I’m feeling cool in my new boots!

Super comfortable boot and LOVE the teal color. My feet are a little narrow so I have to cinch the boots down by laces. Good option since they also zip up. For boots with heels I could walk in them all day!

Absolutely the most incredible pair of boots I've ever put on my feet! They are very high quality and comfortable. No doubt I will be purchasing at least one more pair in the next month or so. I got the dark blue and they are gorgeous. You can't go wrong.

I just got these and immediately fell in love with them. I wear a 7 and the 38 fits fine with a sock....without socks my foot moves around. Im not familiar with the european sizing. I have been searching for a good stylish combat boot for years but they never have good ones in stores. So happy I found zappos! I hope they last.....feel well made.

The color was bizarre. Supposed to be teal. Appears black in natural lighting fluorescent lighting and as in these photos under reveal lighting which is supposed to show True Colors.

I was sadly disappointed with this boot!! It's so hard to find a good one and I thought this brand name would be worth it. The leather is VERY stiff/hard, like walking in a ski boot without the ski on. Maybe they'd break in BUT I cannot get past that there is ONE seam inside of the boot that is VERY inconveniently located right above the back of the heel.One question: Why in the earth would you put a sharp seam inside the boot and right where it will scrape with every step. It's not a one time thing, I loved the boot so ordered 2 pair, so it's a total of 4 scrapy seams to deal with! So uncool..I wore them each for an hour around the house and 2 days later feet still hurt and barely caught it before it blistered, I thought this was a good brand and a nice style. Now I'm off again to find a decent boot, in a different brand..

These are gorgeous boots. I was fooled by the images and thought they had a stacked wood heel. My bad for not reading the description fully, it is a man made heel. They look great I just hope that for this price they hold up well.

In general, these are beautiful, well crafted, sturdy fashion boots. I found them just a tiny bit short, or exactly true to size without a centimeter to spare. I got the red, which is deep and rich, more of a cranberry or cherry, with dark overtones giving it an antique patina. I changed out the laces, which I found an uninspiring brown. Check out Etsy, I chose a liberty floral print. I have wide feet, not the widest, but wide (I have bought many Alegrias with a more square toe bed) but the wide is turning out fine after wearing them around the house a few days. If you have a very wide foot these likely won’t work. Also, Taos makes very few styles in wide, you have to do your research to figure out which ones. They do not have much cushioning, if that’s an issue for you, but the footbed and shoe is well shaped and very supportive. I usually need an extra arch insert but I don’t seem to with these. The leather is soft so that the ankles don’t bind. However, they aren’t a warm weather proof boot. Probably they could be treated to resist rain, and the sole is about 3/4 of an inch so there will be some protection. If you want a really warm winter boot, look elsewhere. Or, order a size up and wear thick socks. If you want a comfortable fashionable, stable and well-made boot, you will love these! And Zappos fast shipping and free returns is truly a shoppers dream. I ordered another boot from the company who made them (Dromedaris) and it took ten days, and when they didn’t fit I had to pay return shipping, ugh. Zappos for me in the future!

So, my best size is 8.5WW, but I can often wear 9W instead. These boots fit me great in size 10-10.5W, with medium-thin socks, and plenty of room in the toe box. I've probably got a full 1/2 inch from the tip of my big toe to the edge of the shoe, which is great! I tried these boots on in the next size down, and my big toe was pressed to the edge. Despite being roomy, they don't feel too big. The heel is comfortable, and the laces can be tightened to make them as snug as you'd like around the ankle. The leather is very soft and flexible, but also substantial. These boots have some weight to them. For further fit reference, I often have trouble with wide shoes made for "chubby" feet. The straps are often too high off my foot, or the heel is too loose. Naturalizer WW were the best fitting shoes on me before they apparently stopped making them. If your wide feet are like mine, don't be afraid to size up a few times for a perfect fit. I've tried on a LOT of boots lately, and these are definitely among the very nicest.

Absolutely love these boots! Super comfortable, great color, awesome funky style. Regular width is not too narrow for my wider-than-normal feet. Recommend 1000%!

The European sizes don’t work for me. LOVE these boots. Sad to need to return. It was easy and great customer service.

These boots are really cute! I was looking forward to loving these boots, however they didn’t fit. Had they been a half size larger they would’ve been my new favorite boots.

I usually buy size 39, but the sizing was a little different; 39, usually (in my experience) 8 1/2 - 9, was 8 - 8 1/2 which I thought would be a little small for me. I got a size 40, 9-9 1/2 which is perfect. The color is a little dark for teal, but gorgeous just the same. Soles have great “gription” as we say up here. Awesome comfort right out of the box. Room for a 3/4 length orthotic I always wear. Now I want more colors.
