I am highly disappointed in the quality of the sole of this shoe given the price, and I have been wearing Birks for a long time. The rubber on the bottom, after two weeks of daily use, is now nearly worn out on the bottom of the heels. And the design of this shoe does not allow you to replace the sole. It is comfortable and has a high quality upper. But the fact that I am about, possibly two months, theses shoes will be unwearable due to a flawed sole design, tells me to tell everyone to avoid these expensive shoes. In short, it goes against what Birks are known for: a shoe you can get a lot of wear out of (I have got a pair running on 15 years now). But this one? By the time I have broken it in it is half worn out. Avoid it.

I'm not sure what's going on in the Birkenstock company, but this is the third shoe I've bought that the insole has changed to something different. It doesn't feel like the tried and true insoles of yore. I do not like the new Birkenstocks, they don't feel right and more importantly it doesn't FIT right. I have high arches and could not feel any support with this shoe. Have to send them back.

These look great and I was hopeful for the comfort of my Birkenstock Boston's but the footbed is different, it lacks the little bump under your toes and this is key for me with Birkenstocks. I wouldn't have bought if I had know this, that is what helps me with the morton's neuroma. These aren't at all like Arizona or Boston's footbed so buyer beware.

I have worn Birks for years, but this is the first time I've tried a true shoe product. I wore them extensively during a recent trip to Europe, and put quite a few miles on them in a short period of time. Very little break-in period required. In general, I have found them to be more comfortable without socks, but either way these are a great fit. The substantial uppers and thick soles result in a very heavy shoe, but they are very stable and secure when walking on cobblestones and other uneven surfaces. Highly recommended.

My new favorite shoe! Well built, very comfortable. Like most Birks, it was a little stiff at first and took about a week of continuous wear to break-in and really be comfortable.

I have several pairs of Birkenstock shoes and I usually wear a 43 Regular, but for some reason these feel a little snug around the top of the foot and toe area. I have some older Footprints Pasadenas, and they are much more roomy in the toe area. If you look at the picture you will notice that they are cut very low around the front foot area, and I definitely noticed it. You may want to go up one size.
