The boot is a little hard to get on but once you do it feels great. I wore the boots all day the first time out and they were great. As others have said, the footbed is not really like a true Birkenstock but it's still comfortable.

Just diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and have found Birk anything to be very comfortable! I especially love the look of these boots, somewhat of a Chelsea boot. Looks great with everything! Buy them!

OMG!!! These are the most comfortable shoes/boots that I have ever worn. period. I have to wear shoes that keep the plantar fasciitis away. I wore Birkenstocks for years, and then I developed back problems, and I switched to Danskos with the occasional Birkenstock thrown in. When I had my knees replaced (I don't recommend that, btw), I switched to Vionics, which definitely keep the plantar fasciitis away, but I was not happy with the Vionic boots that I was wearing, because they were a bit too narrow for my slightly wide feet. And then I discovered these! First of all, they are beautifully made of gorgeous leather, and they are very nice looking. But the best part is that, even though I haven't worn Birkenstocks in a couple of years, they have felt like bedroom slippers from the moment I put them on (I do have to wiggle a bit to get them on, but once my feet are in, they fit perfectly). No break in time needed--perfectly comfortable all day at work and even trekking through the food store afterward! I never want to take them off! I think part of what makes them so comfy is that you don't have to grip them with each step as you do with the sandals, because they are attached to your foot by design. Also love the grippy soles, since I want to avoid falling if I can! Highly recommend, and of course, you can't beat Zappos for super speedy shipping and the best service in the business--I wouldn't dream of buying my shoes anywhere else! :)

I really, really wanted these boots to work. I loved the style and the color but they just didn't have the Birkenstock feel to them. I walked around the house all day in an effort to "make" them feel right and knew it was only wishful thinking. They looked great on and had everything I wanted in a boot except the most important thing, they lacked the perfect comfort that you get in a Birkenstock. I wish I could put into words exactly what was missing, but I can't. All I can say is if you are a Birkenstock wearer, you will know what I mean. When you put on a Birkenstock, it feels a certain way on your feet and nothing else feels like it. This boot has everything just right except it doesn't feel like a Birkenstock. With deep regrets, I had to return them and I only wish I could give you a better reason why.

Beautiful leather. Very nice quality construction on these shoes made in Portugal. The instep was tight and the style is a little meh, so I will be returning these. Also, they are a little hard to get into.

LOVE these boots. I have been waiting for Birk boots for years!! Birkenstocks are by far my favorite shoes, and I have had many pairs through the years. Yes, the soles are a little thinner, but they are amazingly comfortable and needed no breaking in. They are a little narrower than my many other pairs of Birkenstocks, but I don't wear them with really thick wool socks. I can wear them with my medium weight socks though. I would highly recommend at least trying these boots, as Zappos has an amazing return policy if they don't work for you.

These are my new favorites! Despite the mixed reviews, I decided to go for these. I find them super comfortable for walking several miles. I went with the bigger end of my size range and place Sherpa liners inside. With heavy socks they are plenty warm and fit well. Exactly what I wanted a stylish, comfortable boots that looks good with skinny jeans or a skirt.

Purchased this boot for a casual alternative to my Birkenstock Boston clogs. Love the fit which is the original Regular fit - not the Medium/Narrow. Works for my foot (suffer a bunion). Maybe not quite as much arch as my clogs and sandals? Definitely not a hiking boot - sole better suited to sidewalk trekking. This Bootie has a sleek appearance - updated fashion forward look. Will be a staple with slim pants all fall and winter.

These shoes are super comfortable and very cute. As a teacher, I'm on my feet all day. By the end of the day, my feet still feel great! I had to exchange for one size smaller, since my original order (my normal size) was way too big. One size down fit perfectly.

I hesitated buying these shoes because of the price, I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger. Birkenstock show tend to last me years and years, that made the price more doable to me. While I had a hard time getting my feet into them initially, a shoe horn took care of this problem. Once on these shoes are comfortable and cute! I have been looking for a cute, casual brown shoe for so long, nothing has been right. So glad I found these!!

Not the boot for me. I liked the style and look, but they run small - mostly in terms of putting them on. Not a big fan of the sole. I felt like they wouldn't be pleasant to break in because of where the boot hits the ankle. If they were easier to put on, I may have kept them, but it's too hard to put them on and I think the height would bother me over time; I also don't think they'll be good in slippery conditions because the sole doesn't seem like it will grip well. I think I'm going to go with the Birkenstock Stowe boot. They are easier to pull on, color choice is better, and don't feel like they'll need to be broke in.

I thought this boot was really comfortable. It's got the classic Birk toe-box that angles down with your toes. I probably would have kept these if the opening at the top of the boot were a little smaller. I wanted to wear these with leggings and ankle jeans, and the top of the boot was a little too wide at the ankle for this, in my opinion.

I don't understand the complaints about the sole thickness- it's normal... Less arch support than a Birkenstock sandal and way more than you'll get in any other leather shoe. Mine fit better with a thick pair of socks, but totally doable with a thinner dress sock, as long as I'm not walking miles and miles all at once.

Difficult to get on if you have a high instep. Nice leather, probably will stretch. Width is fine, sizing seems true. Since it is a flat sole and rounded toes, appearance is a bit frumpy for my taste.

I really wanted to love/like this boot but found like other reviewers there is a lump under the ball area of your foot. I've worn Birkenstocks for decades and have not encountered this issue before. I also found the heel cup around the back of the boot to be quite rigid and it made me wonder if it might cause rubbing. Bummer. Returning this item.

These are going back. Although they are well-made and extremely attractive, they do not provide the kind of support that I need all day at work. All other Birks give excellent arch and metatarsal support. While these are by no means uncomfortable, they are just not supportive enough to get the job done.

Cute, basic ankle boot, and very comfortable, but I agree sole is so thin you feel the ground, zero cushion, and it ran a size long (also purchased three other styles of Birkenstock boots in the same size this season and they fit fine).

What is Birkenstock thinking? I have worn this brand for over 40 years. However, in my size 37, my foot with an orthotic will not fit inside. Also, when I held the boot up to my stand-by Birkie--sole-to sole-- the Bennington is much narrower. I do not want less rubber "meeting the road." What a disappointment. I notice the sole has a blue rectangle on the bottom that bears the brand name. Will all that have this type of bottom be smaller? I notice the Ionia shoe is the same. Thank you, Zappos, for the free returns. I found Alegria shoes that seem right.

I was really looking forward to my first pair of birk boots!! Very disappointed they didn't come close to fitting. I have manyyyyyy pairs of birkenstocks and they are all size 38. This boot ran so small I could not even get my foot in. I am going to attempt to reorder in what is my today US size 9 not a 38 based on shoe sizes of many years ago. The boot is very adorable in person and I hope that the next one fits!
