Nice trim-looking shoe - quite comfortable if you are not walking all day. However with my age and my bunions, the heel is a little too high for walking distances and carrying groceries. If I needed them for sitting at a desk and walking a couple of blocks I would purchase them. The leather is soft and I feel very stable walking in them. If you are looking for a brogue-type shoe that is not clunky looking, this is the one to try.

Very comfortable right out of the box. With the shine, they look very nice/dressy with a pair of dress pants. Shoelaces do stay tied, which I was worried about. I walked a mile in them and no problems.

These shoes are sooo comfortable! I spent an entire day shopping in them and never felt any discomfort. The thick rubber soles provides comfort even when walking on concrete for a long time. I rated them at four stars overall. Comfort is definitely five star worthy, but the heel is too wide and causes minor slippage. This was a good purchase. (I wear a narrow)

The shoes were very comfortable with modification. I had to put a pad in the heel because the heel is wide and slid up and down w/ walking. The toe box is a little tight, overall the shoe runs a little small, ordered a half size up to accommodate the forefoot, but as stated had to pad the heel to fill the gap.

These were nice shoes and appeared well-made, however I needed to return them. There is some padding around the heel portion of the shoe that bothered me. I presume that for many people this padding adds to the shoe comfort and helps with heal slippage, but for me the padding bothered my heel. It dug in and hurt a bit. Perhaps this may have gone away after wearing them a few times, but for the price, I expected the shoe to be immediately comfortable and did not want to take the risk. Also, with thicker socks (not terribly thick- Smartwool cable knit dress socks)the shoe in my regular size 8, felt a little snug.

Good arch support, but the padding should extend further than that--the toes need some cushioning.

I needed a wide in this shoe as the medium was too snug around the edges. Unfortunately the wide was somehow a little longer than the medium, as it resulted in a gap in the back of the heel that made the shoe flop around. The toe box is also very shallow and presses down quite a bit on the toes. The heel is very sturdy and the shoe has a lot of cushioning outside. If the shoe fits you, I think it'll be a great choice to wear all day. However, beware the shallow toe box and heel gap.

Even after returning for a smaller size, these kept slipping off my heel. Needed to be wider in toe box and tighter around heel to work for me. Besides fit issues, I liked the shoe. :/

I was disappointed that these were rather uncomfortable for walking. I live in Manhattan and walk to/from work. I usually walk about 3 miles a day. While these shoes are not extremely uncomfortable, my feet do ache by mid day. I was surprised, especially since I have higher heels that are comfortable for walking even longer distances. Also, the laces were too long and were synthetic. They made the shoes look cheap. I went to a store that sells men’s dress shoes and bought shorter, natural dress laces that better suit the broguing on these shoes. Would it really have been too much to ask to provide proper laces? Overall, I recommend these as long as you don’t plan on doing too much walking.

love the shoes but have a problem with them not fitting my heel . They slide up and down when I walk , also the width needs to be a little wider.

After reading all the favorable reviews I really wanted this shoe to fit. While it appears to be well made, the fit seems to be ackward. The heel area is quite wide while the toe box is narrow. The shoe felt "off balance" to me. I have several oxford style heels (from other makers) and love them. This shoe was a bit matronly looking. I was partly anticipating that but opptimistically hoping I'd be wrong. Unfortunately, I'll be sending this shoe back.

I am heartbroken! This is a beautiful shoe. I like a funky offbeat style and these are perfect. I ordered the brown and loved the color. The leather is soft and supple and the padding is perfect. I had given up on any type of heel but decided to give this a try. I would have been able to wear these shoes right out of the box. I loved the width and room of the toe box and the padding at the heel (something I'm particularly careful about since I suffer from Achilles tendonitis). The problem I found was that my heel was slipping out of the shoe. For some reason, the distance to the back of the shoe was too long. The front fit so perfectly that I think going down a half size will result in too small a shoe. At least give these a try. If they fit your foot, you'll have a beautiful shoe.

These shoes look good and seem to very comfortable. I tried them in 7.5 wide and 7.5 regular, but both pairs were too big in the heel area. They slip when I walk, so I have to return them.

This shoe was adorable. I have a few other pairs in this brand and size 8 usually is fine. This time, it was quite a bit too big in the heel area - long and wide. Sad they had to go back.

I'm sad, cause they are so cute. My heel slips out, like slips the full length of my heel. I bought a W, cause I need that for the rest of my foot, I don't think I have found difficulty in getting the right width for my heel in the past. bummmer...have to return them.

Although I ordered wide, they don't feel like it.

I have been wearing these exact shoes for years, I re-heel them until they are really worn out and then buy another pair. They were always comfortable out of the box. No more. I didn't catch it in time to return them -- I wore them for a couple of days before realizing that they didn't just need to be worn in -- but the shape has changed. They no longer say "Cobb Hill" on the sole, they now say "Rockport", and the length and width are each 0.5 cm less than my old shoes. Even the shape of the heel has changed, the cross-section of the point of the heel is now significantly smaller. The leather is stiffer than I remember too. Highly distressing. I may try again with a pair that's half a size larger.
