OK, this bag is totally safe from several different kinds of theft. It hangs at a good cross-body length. It is both attractive and waterproof. So why is my review so low? Because it fails at BEING A BAG. I checked the length and height dimensions but did not realize there was absolutely no width whatsoever; this is less like a purse, more like an envelope. Here are a list of things I could not put into the bag -- and I mean, I could not put any single one of them in, much less two or more: 1) A full-size tube of sunscreen 2) A paperback travel guide 3) The hard case for my sunglasses 4) A tiny mini-umbrella even smaller than the sunglasses case I have a slim travel wallet, and thank goodness, because a regular sized wallet would not have fit inside either. Someone could probably put an iPad mini in there, and I was able to tote my cell phone and a lipstick. But when you have a travel bag, it is meant to provide some utility! This absolutely did not. I cannot imagine what manner of customer the manufacturers are targeting. Someone who wants a travel bag, but doesn't need any travel supplies? Someone who just wants to feel safer with her purse, and achieves that safety by not actually being able to put anything in it? Well, that's one kind of theft prevention, I guess. But it's not why I spent money on this bag. I very much regret the purchase. Serves me right for waiting until a few days before departure to order the purse. Please don't make the same mistake I did.

I'm walking all day through my building during a two year renovation. My bag has to go from a construction meeting to my workout to meetings to evening dinners out downtown. Worn daily at work for last two years, even on my lunchtime powerwalks. Accommodates my ottercase iPhone, my Accordion zip wallet, eyeglass hardcase and slim city transit pass holder. I take it everywhere and I love unlocking and relocking the strap onto my chair at restaurants and museum cafes. Never had it stolen and it is so plain no one looks at it twice. LOVE the light colored interior to help me see whats at the bottom (usually a pen and receipts or keys) Minimal thread fraying finally, I trimmed with a scissors. Minimal dirt I wipe down with a wet sponge. Outstanding for travel and the new business casual work place.

I had the cloth version of this bag until I wore it out and decided to try this version. While I liked the look and feel of the cloth better overall, I still like this bag. I've found that if I carry a larger bag, I'll just fill it with more crap. This one is the perfect size for my daily use. On a given day, I'll usually have at least these things in it: my phone w/ case, key ring, wallet, hair ties, Shout stain wipes, a few different lip glosses, a pen, business cards, and just-in-case ibuprofen & Benadryl. There are almost always random extras. I sometimes use a slightly larger bag on travel days, but I bring this one for day use, too. All-in-all a solid bag.

I've had the cloth version of this bag for a few years now, and it's just now getting to a point where it's looking like it should be replaced. The bag itself it still going strong, but the cloth has started to look a little haggard (some discoloration and staining). I'm not as big of a fan of the thicker nylon this one is made of, but it's certainly easier to keep clean. I typically carry my work badge, keys, phone, wallet, several extra loyalty/business cards, a pen or two, a couple lip balms, some other smaller odds & ends, and occasionally a pair of sunglasses in just a cloth covering. You could rearrange to get other things in here if you wanted to. I think it's unfair to rate this bag lower because you didn't realize what its size was; it's not meant to carry everything. For what its size and purpose is, it more than does the job.

This bag is very small; however, I can't handle weight on my shoulder all day. I get in it: a travel coin purse that holds cc card and cash, mini lip gloss, hair pick, small emery board, sunglasses in a cloth case, small medicine tin, small mint tin, and my contact lens case. Also my passport, when needed. I think I could get a travel sunscreen spray too, if necessary. Thing is at least 7 years old and has been all over the world. Still looks like new. I got the black, which is kind of boring. That's why I only gave it a 4 for style. I like the safety features on it. I've been to some major pickpocket cities with never a problem.

Too difficult to adjust straps.

Perfect size, just the right number of pockets. Would buy this again.
