I live in Wisconsin and these are perfect winter boots. We just had a pretty large snowstorm and the boots worked perfectly when I had to clear off my car and shovel. They're very stylish, so much so that they almost don't look like winter boots. They keep my feet very warm and also keep the snow out. They also dry very quickly.

I bought this shoe for my son. He loved it. It;s comfortable walking long distances and while shoveling snow.

Great boot! This is my second pair of Back-To-Berkeley. The first pair served me well for about 4.5 years and it was simply time for some new ones. The fit is just about the same as my old pair: as light as a shoe, but have the support and traction of a great hiker... and they're surprisingly warm. I find that even in 10-20 degree weather, regular socks work great for a typical bus-to-5-block-walk to work.

No need to break it, soft and flexible. No problem operating vehicles. Good casual design with retro throwback. Good fit, unlike some of TNF, you need to size up to fit, due to heavy insulation. I like that these boots are not too hot, They are warm but not overwelming, so you can keep them on inside. Waterproof surface and good traction. I highly recommend it

This generation of the Berkeley's was a replacement to a pair that I had 2 yrs ago. Both were guaranteed to be waterproof, and yet both failed miserably in snowy urban environments. I can honestly say that I didn't even torture test these in harsh environments by walking intentionally in puddles - only in a few inches of snow. The replacements did not last even one season. Buy these for dry urban environments, but don't depend on them for anything more than that. Otherwise these shoes are super comfortable, and has the right balance of price vs looks.

These are definitely not waterproof. Bought these for my boyfriend who does alot of outside work and needed some good boots to keep his feet warm and dry during winter weather. The first day wearing them on a rainy slushy day in nyc his feet were soaking wet with cold water. He wore them many times afterwards because he had no other option and because he liked the look of the shoe. This was such a disappointment. On the upside it does keep your feet warm on days it is not wet outside.

Bought it for day-to-day use, because old boots getting too old, time for a change so... casual wear. Stylish and comfy at first, feels warm inside BUT then feels like it's wet in the feet (not waterproof enough ? leak ? sweat ? dunno) and sometimes feels like it's a little cold on the toes. Furthermore, the first clip on the front (in side) was rubbing on the bone of my feet (toe base) and was hurting me ! I usually wear 9 but it was waaaay too long, the 8 was a fit and the clip hurt...could'nt try the 8.5 bc none was in stock in the store.

I bought these as a winter boot to walk my dog around town/on trails. Comfy right out of the box, but upon the first use, they are actually the opposite of waterproof. My feet were soaked in 30 minutes just from walking through wet grass. After a couple months the toe/heel are already starting to delaminate. I filled out a warranty claim with North Face and sent them back only to have them returned with a note saying "no fix could be made" Great idea on paper but that's all I need to never purchase from this company again. If you want real boots, use a real company instead.

I live in northern Michigan and our winter season is 6 months and having durable, warm, comfortable and stylist shoes is a must and these shoe/boots are absolutely perfect and most certainly recommend them. North face for life!

I thoroughly enjoy this shoe. I have only had it less than a year, with about only 4 months of steady use. About 2 weeks ago I notice that the front sides of the shoes have started to come apart and unglued. I have not logged any significant outdoor activities on this shoes. I have only worn them to work then I take them off to put on my work boots. I am really bummed out due to the fact that I was looking forward to doing some hiking, snowshoeing, along with some other outdoor activities in them, but that is not going to happen now. I really like the shoe. I am just worried about purchasing another pair if it's going to do the same. I would give it a 5 star. Unfortunately I can only grade it on it's quality and last right now. 3 stars it is.

I bought these for my man for Christmas he really wanted tgem because of the cool retro look and that they would be waterproof. We live in Truckee, there's snow, puddles and icy roads all winter. Maybe for a quick trip to the store they would be great, otherwise his feet are soaking in sweat as these shoes don't have a breathable liner. They are like a sauna on his feet. He literally has to bring another pair of socks to change into 1/2 way through the day. This doesn't happen with any of his other shoes or boots. I wish I could get my money back honestly.

I live in the Pacific Northwest surrounded by trees, lakes, and incredible hiking trails. Some of those trails have uneven surfaces or rocky gravel. These boots make any hike or walk on a variety of terrain very easy. This is especially useful when going up inclines and helps prevent from slipping or falling.

Great use in Chicago winter with salt. I've gotten many compliments from these boots. They are also very warm and fit very comfortably. Downside is that they are hard to clean if you get salt/mud on them

These boots exceeded my expectations. They are lightweight, comfortable, and warm. I have used them for winter hiking, snowshoeing, sledding, and as my general winter footwear.

I was looking for hiking boots, when I came across North Face, my experience with the company gave me confidence in the purchase. So far so good and I would recommend.
