I ordered these in black and after wearing them one evening for an outdoor bocce game, I walked 3 miles in them the next day...my next outing was an easy hike/walk in the woods for about an hour. These boots/shoes are very comfortable and light weight but do give your feet support. I would not recommend them for any serious hiking or on rough terrain because the sole is not made for that kind of thing...too easy to slip on leaves going down hill, if there are lots of rocks and tree roots. That said, for everyday walking on an easy trail they'd be fine, or walks on a country road - or walking around any city or town. They look quite good in black. I wear a 10.5 and my feet look much smaller! Like others, I recommend Smartwool socks. I also own a pair of Ahnu Montara boots in the same size - and I wore them on extremely long walks with my dog in the depth of one of the worst winters in the northeast. Ahnu makes great footwear!

Great shoes right out of the box. I have wide, classic "Dansko feet". These are very roomy in the toe box and look great with jeans. Can't wait to see them perform when the weather gets cold and wet. Want them in brown and black too.

I wore these the day I got them and they were very comfortable, no breaking in required. They are light and look cute with skinny jeans or boot cut. I purchased them to get around in light snow or rain and so far they have been great for that. They seem well made. I want another color!

Very cute, casual boot. True to size. These are comfortable enough to wear all day, and the sole is sturdy enough for day hikes. This is a versatile shoe that can go from an urban setting to the trail. I ordered the grey and the color is represented well in the picture.

This has become my go-to sneaker boot. It's comfy and stylish. On a trip to the British Isles in May 2016, I took this boot and another. When I put on the other boot, it was too tight with the socks, so the Ahnu was the boot I wore hiking in Ireland, England and Scotland. It's fabulous!

These are the best shoes for walking a lot ever! I walked around the house and liked the comfort but had no idea that these would seldom leave my feet on a two week trip to the British Isles! Sure footed, well-padded, still comfortable after a long day trekking about. Great arch support and snazzy style. I brought support insoles in case I needed, but did not, and did not want to wear the other pair I packed. I cannot say enough good things about these!

Have loved Ahnu before so I wanted to love this boot but I hated the fake texture and when it also slipped in the heel, was relieved to have a better reason to not like it.
