The 2 fits perfectly. I wear a small in Prana swim bottoms and tops, and small in their tanks as well. Only other brand reference here when choosing your size is that I wear a medium patagonia top and size 4 patagonia shorts etc. Hope that helps someone.

I'm 5' 6.5" tall;
chest: 36.75"/34B/36A
natural waist: 29-30"
lower waist: 34.5"
hips: 37"
usual inseam: about 31-32"
I've purchased Prana pants only once before (Halle) and made the mistake of going with a size 10. They were way too large for my liking. Prana does seem to run large in the waist but slim in the hip, which is perfect for me since that means ordering a 6 in these Brenna pants means a true skinny jean fit without much of a muffin top.
Pros: Stylish for hiking and street wear; just enough stretch to avoid muffin topping; even with a 30" inseam they don't look silly - more like ankle pants.
Cons: A little tight around the knee, so they do require a breaking-in period; back pockets are a little large and thus not the most flattering for those of us with small butts; a little scratchy.

I bought these in Coal in an 8 and a 10. Reading the reviews, I thought that the 8 would be the keeper, but nope, it's the 10.
For reference: I'm 5'7" 146 lbs, fit, hourglass figure, 44 yrs. old. While technically the 8 fit, they looked "poured on" which is not the look I want at my age, and there would be no way I could wear them to meetings even in my hip design-based company. The 10 looked much better--it was still fitted, but in a good way and these really do justice my rear end IMO. It's the way the pockets are styled and the fabric, I think.
The $89 price tag is pretty hefty for synthetic material anything, but the cut/design makes it worth it. I'm going to buy the green also-it's rare that pants fit so well. I hope they make them in some other cool colors, like rust red or an eggplant purple.
Just as an FYI, like another reviewer said, Prana pants can run large--I kept a 10 in the Halle and wish I had kept the 8--but the reverse is true for me with these. It truly depends on the style. I hope I get a gift card from Prana or Zappos for this glowing review!!

I would buy these pair of pants in every color, twice if I could. Such a great fit for real women (aka women with hips). Great material for pants that are meant to be worn outdoors, hiking, working outside etc. Good stretch without looking baggy or losing their shape.

I usually wear an 8 in most pants. I own the Prana Halle pants which I adore. Knowing that skinny pants usually are too skinny for my liking I got these in size 10. Perfect fit. I love the moto inspired stitching on the knee. The fabric feels fabulous: substantial but stretchy and even though it says midrise, I consider it a low rise (below belly button) which I wanted. It’s a 30 length and they are plenty long. For reference I’m 5’9, 147 pounds.

I love the way these pants fit me. I bought size 8 in olive whereas I normally wear size 10 or 30 in most brands. In my opinion, Prana pants tend to run large, by one whole size, while their tops sometimes run half a size small. These pants are pretty tight (thence four stars for comfort) but the material seems stretchy, so I am hoping that they will be more comfortable after wearing them a while, even though I hope they won't get too loose. Pretty sexy-looking, due to the cut and the thinness of the fabric, so I won't be wearing them to work.

Wow. I already love Prana but I love this brand even more because of these pants! These fit perfectly and feel great. They're also super versatile! I could wear them with heels, flats, dress boots, OR hiking boots. Love them!

I'm 5'8" and weigh 175#. I bought these in Coal, size 12. The material reminds me of hiking pants. The pants are tight (and stretchy) and they are a bit long. I roll them up about 1-2 inches so they don't bunch at the bottom. The moto details on the legs and pockets give these pants a distinct look. I wear these rolled with booties or unrolled with a pair of flats.

These pants are the best... fit is perfect but I would recommend going down a size because they do stretch out after a couple hours of wearing.. the color doesn't wash away either... order them in every color

Love the style and fit but the material is sooo stiff and uncomfortable! To the reviewer with real curves, these fit well on my very real body which doesn't have very many curves at all. I wish they had more stretch and a softer feel. For reference, I purchased a 0 and I'm 5'6" 103lbs with a 25 waist.

These pants are so cute! They synthetic material is stretchy and very comfortable. The moto style is fashionable and edgy. Can dress up with heels or down with a hoodie. I got both gravel and black colors and love both. Fit is true to size. I wear size 6 in all Prana bottoms and size 6 fit perfectly.
I’m 5’7” and 133lbs if that helps with sizing. If you’re in between sizes I would go up a size.

Beyond cute! Runs small. These are great hiking pants that you could wear in pretty much any casual situation. Perfect for travel ... I doubt they will stretch excessively if you need to get multiple wears out of them. I’ll be riding a camel in Morocco wearing them next week. The details on the knees and back pockets is awesome! Don’t love the brown color online but I ordered them anyway. Wish they came in khaki.

These are my new favorite pair of pants! I sized up from the Halle pant, and they fit great. They don't stretch out over the course of the day like some other PrAna pants.

Great pant, but inconsistent sizing. I ordered the gravel in my usual size 4T. I already own this pant in black, coal, and green — all in 4T. I love this style b/c it is stretchy so it is comfy on the plane ride and b/c it can go from hiking to eating out at a nice restaurant depending on which shoes/top you pair it with. Sadly, the size 4T was so tight that I couldn’t even button it. It was a good 3 inches from buttoning and very difficult to pull up. So I ordered the 6T figuring maybe Prana changed their sizing since I bought the other pairs. Nope. The 6T is too big. I don’t know if the 4T I received is defective or if all the Prana pants now have inconsistent sizing due to manufacturing errors. I’d order another 4T to check, but Zappos is sold out (at least until they get my return back...). I really like the gravel color and wish that one of the sizes could have fit me.

These pants are true to size and have pleats by the knees which adds some fashion flair. The drawback is the stiffness of the material, very scratchy and makes that noise when you’re walking. I enjoy wearing them, and after several washing’s, they still remain stiff.

These are cute on, but the material is not super comfy. The moto stitch detail makes the knees kind of rough. I was looking for a comfortable but stylish pant to wear traveling and camping and these are not it. I usually wear an xs/2 in Prana and the 2 in these fit well. I do think they are practical overall and if you're not super picky about the texture of fabric they would be good. The waist is definitely a decent mid-rise, so going up a size might also work if you're looking more for comfort.

Overall, I do love this pants. Very cute and flattering on. I like the little moto flare to the design. They are stretchy which is comfortable, but the material is not the softest. It is something to get used to, I am keeping them because overall they are great pants.

These are definitely a skinny fit IMO. I did not care for them. They were too snug for my liking. I ordered these in a 6 but the Halle Straight Leg fit me in a 4 so sizing seems like it may be off. I am 5'4, 127 lbs.
These were also labeled "essex" not "Brenna" so maybe they were the wrong pants.

I have a few other styles of Prana pants, I sized up on these and they are still on the small side. They are very cute on and feel they may loosen upon wearing as there seems to be a bit of stretch in them. I am only returning them because they are very itchy on my legs, not sure if this would go away once washed, but I'm not taking the chance so I'm returning them.

Great fit, style, color... but the fabric is so loud! It swishes with every step. I'm sure it wouldn't bother everyone as loud clothing is a particular pet peeve of mine. I couldn't keep them for that reason.

I actually do not think that the sizing on these Prana pants is accurate if you're accustomed to more traditional sizing. "Outdoorsy" type brands (think Patagonia, Columbia, etc.) seem to always mark sizes pretty small. I think there's at least a two-size difference here. As for stretch; ladies... did we try on the same pants? There is no way I would take these hiking; nowhere near enough stretch for me. The styling is very cute and the color is lovely, but, for me, they weren't a hit. Better luck next time!

I loved the idea of a hiking pant that was actually stylish enough for going out to dinner and such, but the fabric just doesn't work with the cut of these, so they end up both uncomfortable and unflattering.
