Until finding these shoes I had only one pairs of shoes that my foot could tolerate all day -- running shoes (my left foot has a neuroma and plantar fasciitis). The Merrell Veranda tie was immediately comfortable and I can wear them all day long with no ill effect. They give the positive heel, the arch support and the cushion that my left foot requires. They look good and go with many outfits. Worth every penny.

I am a 55-year old mother of two who works owns no heeled shoes at all. These shoes are great: stylish, easy to walk in, durable. I've a wide foot and they feel comfortable but do order a half-size up.

I really tried to make these work. But I'd have to say that they run at least a full size short. Even though the toe is somewhat rounded, the toebox is tight. Insoles are comfortable, leather is decent and soles are cushiony. Other than the tight toebox overall a good shoe, just not a good fit for me and I have narrow feet to begin with.

Unfortunately, these are going back. For me, the sides of the shoe were so high they dug into the underside of my ankle bone (ouch!). The leather is pretty stiff, so it didn't seem like a "breaking in" problem that would change in a few wears. I usually like Merrell and am disappointed. Am 5'3" - maybe my ankle bones are low!

Despite the unpolished leather that Merrell prefers for their shoes, it works both with pants or a skirt, and this cloudy color goes well with either black or brown. The sturdy heel and sole makes them comfortable for hours of standing and/or walking and they even performed well during a recent bike ride! I wear a size 11 and the edge chafes a bit on the outside edge of my ankle bone, but I am sure that some inserts or slightly thicker socks will take care of that.

Unfortunately I need to send these back.These shoes dip down a lot inside, so because of my big toe, where it connects to the foot, does not bend, this shoe is extremely painful for my right foot. My left foot is great and this is a comfortable shoe. Really bummed, because this shoe is perfect other than that. As others reviewed I measure a 6.5 and the 7 fit perfectly. I do like the shoe so to be fair I'll give it a 4 and if someone has a healthy foot this shoe would be great.

LOVE this shoe! Love the look of it, the style. However, it is a bit tight and after wearing them all day, my toes were a bit sore. I'm hoping they just need to be broken in. So anyone with a wide foot, beware. If you have a narrow foot, probably the Medium width is perfect. But I do love the shoe!

Very tight fit in the shoe. I normally wear a size 8-1/2 and I ordered a 9. It was tight across the top of my foot and pinched the sides. Cute shoe, though.

Third try was a charm. I tried 7, 7.5, and 8, and the 8 fit well for my wide size 7 foot. I do think these run small and narrow. Cute and comfortable, I love being able to adjust the fit with the ties, and I am able to walk in these all day. As a rule, I find Merrell are well-made and last forever.

I have an ankle sprain and these shoes help by having a snug tied fit and stable heel. The weight is taken off my heel area and helps a lot!

Very cute and comfy. The bottom seems like it would be great for traction, but runs a bit large. Exchanging for a smaller size.

As expected, Merrell shoes are very comfortable and true to size. Nice and stylish too. Zappos delivery and packaging are awesome.

These shoes are the bomb.com! I got so many complements and they are extremely comfortable. You could walk in these for hours. The sole is well constructed and the heel is the perfect height.

From the time I took these shoes out of the box it was comfort. No break in period, straight up comfort. Great traveling/walking shoes. Enough support for the long haul or the short sprint down the airport corridor.

Classic look and perfect fit. These may be the most comfortable shoes I have with style and support in the bargain.

Love these. I'm always in the market for a good walking shoe. These manage to not look too nerdy or grandmotherly. Very quick and easy break-in. Just in time for winter! I'm getting to be a real fan of Merrell. My foot is a little wide but I had no trouble in my usual size.

I love the shoes, they are just what I had expected. I normally wear a 7 but took the advice of getting half a size larger and they fit perfectly. They are super comfortable shoes!

I just got my shoes and I absolutely love them! They are comfortable, fit perfectly, and look great! I have never spent this much for regular shoes before. I think they will be worth every penny. I love the padded insole.

Really like them and they look and feel nice. They do run a little small though so you might go a half size larger. I ordered my usual 6.5 ladies and I will have to wear very thin socks with them.

Zappos has awesome and extremely speedy service! This is the first pair of Merrell's I've ever had an issue with. The style is cute, the fit is good, the quality is first rate. My heel feels great in this shoe and there is great shock absorption at the heel, but there isn't enough thickness/padding/shock absorption under the ball of the foot and the balls of my feet and my arches hurt for days after I wear these shoes, even after buying orthotics from the Good Feet store. I really like everything else about this shoe. It may just be my foot as I don't usually wear heels and I work in a hospital with hard floors.

Love these shoes! I ordered my regular size (9M) and they were plenty big enough and wide enough. They have a great toe box. The color was exactly what I wanted. My only complaint would be the heel slips sometimes but I think that will be taken care of when I figure out what socks to wear with them.
